Blog Inspired: Chili.
Last night, I decided I wanted to make Jenna’s (originally from Beth) white chicken chili.
But there was a problem. I wanted to make it right then and there.
It was 10pm. Long past my bedtime. I didn’t have half the ingredients. Mr. How Sweet had taken a nap which turned into REM sleep on the couch beginning at 6pm. I didn’t care. I needed to make it.
No, I didn’t go to the store or do anything wacky like make chili at midnight on a “school” night. But I did lay awake thinking about it and memorizing the recipe from my blackberry while I laid in bed. It kept me up all night. I’m a foodie freak.
Obviously, dinner tonight was not a difficult decision.
You have got to try this chili. Not only did the house smell amazing, but I couldn’t keep my spoon out of it. You can find the recipe here.
Then I topped it with smoked gouda, cheddar and gruyere. My life is complete.
The end.

oh Good God, lady. you had me at gouda.
GAAH, gruyere too ??? That’s it. I’m moving in. ;)
I think this would go great with those avocado muffins
You are so right! Thanks for the idea!
We’re having chili tonight!! But the traditional kind… I’ve never actually had white chicken chili before. Need to put that on the list of fall meals to make!! :)
Saw that on ELR the other day. This recipe is begging for a crockpot make over !
mmm I really want to make that too!!
I’m so glad that I’m not the only one who lays awake at night obsessing over food and recipes. I hope you sleep well tonight dear…lol
Now I’m just glad I’M not the only one! :)
I’m kind of obsessed with white chili this time of year.
I will definitely bookmark this recipe!!

“Not only did the house smell amazing, but I could keep my spoon out of it.” You COULD or you couldn’t?! Chili sounds amazing.
Mmmm..it looks fabulous!
It is almost lunch time for me, and this is making me even hungrier.
yummmm. this one’s getting bookmarked. I love your uses of cheese. in everything. it’s one of my main food groups. the irony of life is that i’m also lactose intolerant. but that doesn’t stop me.
Topped with three cheeses? Now that is… the STUFF right there. :)
I am definitely going to make this – we LOVE chili in my house!
That looks like the perfect comfort food!
This looks like my kind of food. I adore these dishes. And the addition of the cheese too….. hmmmmm. Yummy!

This looks incredible! I make a white chicken chili, but it doesn’t contain the half-n-half and sour cream. I bet the addition of these creamy ingredients makes this recipe “over the top” delicious!
I’ve really wanted to try this — now I guess I’ll have to!
Now you’ve got me jonesing for this! So happy chili season is upon us!
<— often stares at the ceiling in the middle of the night 'night'dreaming about food.
making. this. today.
Nice! All of it – the obsession and the chili!
Looks amazing! I love white chili!
This is the EXACT recipe I serve to my family! (And guess what? It won the award for Best Chili at our school’s chili cook-off (it’s a fundraiser, and a HUGE deal where we live). So glad you enjoy it and shared it. It is AMAZING! (And the most requested meal from my son, Hudson. In fact, on Tasty Kitchen, it’s actually listed as “Hudson’s White Chicken Chili”)
SO GLAD YOU SHARED IT! And by the way — I just found your blog from teh Spiced Quinoa Apple Pie Parfait recipe — can’t wait to try it tonight and to check out all the other great stuff you have on your blog.
Excellent! i just checked out her recipe and printed it so I can compare it to mine. It looks wonderful and I love the cheese you added on top!
