Peanut Butter Pretzel Granola Bars.
Here… have one of these. I made them just for you.
Okay… and me.
But at least I know how to share.
Peanut Butter Pretzel Granola Bars
[inspired by my little Clif bar addiction]
makes one 9 x 13 pan
1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1 cup puffed rice cereal
1 cup crushed salted pretzels
1/4 cup ground flaxseed
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup chopped dry roasted peanuts
2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
3 tablespoons butter, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon honey (agave should work too)
2/3 cup mini chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a bowl, combine oats, flour, puffed cereal, pretzels, brown sugar, peanuts, and flaxseed, and stir to combine. Add in peanut butter, and mix with a spoon to break it up and create a “dough,” mixing it in as much as you can for at least 5 minutes. Mix melted butter with vanilla extract and add to dough, then mix. Add in honey and stir to moisten completely. Fold in chocolate chips.
Spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with non-stick spray and press the dough into the pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Remove and let cool completely before cutting – there may be minimal crumbling but they should hold together completely. If you find they are crumbling, stick them in the fridge to chill for a few minutes and try again.
I accept compensation in the form of Louboutains, good Chardonnay and Godiva. Oh… and your love.

The last line is classic. I love it.
And the looks of these bars. I love them too! They combine everything that is good and right with the world: brown sugar, oats, pretzels, PB, butter…and yeah, I can definitely get on board with these :)
This is going to go over like a ton of bricks! ……..A bricks that are made from all the things good in the world! :)
Holy cow this is a great idea! I hear a bake sale calling my name. Perfect timing again Jessica!
I’ll take a pan please :)
Oh my gosh, I have a fetish for pretzels in sweets.
YES! YES! YES! I love the PB Pretzel Clif bars and I love that you figured out a way to make them from scratch! Thanks Jessica! :-)
AMAZING! I will be making these for lunches this week! :)
These combine some of my favourite things in the world, love them!
Remind me of mojo bars! Yum… I accept form in louboutin’s as well…still waiting on them!
That’s it. I love you. I’ve got a big bag of pretzels leftover from a party that I kept thinking would be fun to bake with. I was going to brainstorm ideas but you’ve already done the work for me. I love it when that happens. Thank you!! :)
I am making these today! They look amazing! Thank you for sharing them with us, I know that must have been hard :-)
I’m hungry! :-) The perfect on-the-go treat. Awesome recipe, Jessica!
I love those Mojo bars too — salty and sweet is the best!
I want to reach right through the screen and grab one of these (or all of them – lol!) I used to despise the salty/sweet combo, but I love it now. I agree with you on the Clif Bars – they are addicting!
Didn’t like sweet and salty?! How is that possible?
Yummy! These look like a perfect snack! :D
Perfect! The sweet salty preztel/chocolate combination gets me every single time!
These look better than any granola bar I can buy!
I LOVE sweet dishes that use pretzels. Which I guess is no surprise because I love a salty and sweet flavor mix, any way you do it :-)
These look great! Love the peanut butter/pretzel combo.
I love expirementing with homemade granola bar recipes — can’t wait to give this one a try.
What r u doimg this weekend? because i now know what im doing!
pb pretzel is my fav mojo bar too!!! its so good. like no only are there pretzels and peanut butter chips, but also peanut butter FILLED pretzels!! haha im sure you know that but felt like emphasizing it. haha yay!! :)
there you go!
I was staring at my pantry the other day with the realization that I have ingredients for granola bars – in bulk (this is why they shouldn’t let me go to Trader Joes). These bars sound great – peanut buttery, chocolaty, crunchy!
um, yeah…this was so not necessary on the first day of my “diet”. You are a Saboteur, my friend…
actually I just like saying Saboteur…in my evil voice. Yes, I have an evil voice, shut up.
Two of my favorites, pretzels and sugar! Sweet! This will be great for lunches next week! How do you do it? You make all these wonderful dishes, how do you not eat them all? I like to cook and bake, and I eat one or two, and give the rest away, but I’m afraid that one or two is going to my hips. It’s so hard! Do you workout a lot to compensate for the sweets? Just curious, I’m trying to figure out my own way of dealing with sweets and staying in shape. It’s so hard, when there are so many good things out there to eat!
I bake and cook every single day, so I really am not tempted to eat every single thing. Sure, sometimes there are things I want (like the croissants) but other things don’t really tempt me, just because I am constantly around them!
Oh my favorite flavors!!
These look like a perfect treat for my son’s lunchbox! And who doesn’t accept payment in the form of Louboutins?
Whoa nelly!! I’m making those!
I have dreams about those pb pretzel Cliff bars.
Clearly it’s destiny that I read your blog. BRB going to make these RIGHT NOW…
So based on your new-found Kendall Jackson knowledge, do Godiva and Chardonnay pair well together? I’m going to start using that as my form of compensation for all gifts and friendly deeds. ;)
Hahahah probably not, it just sounds really good at 7am. :)
Omg I want one now! These look fabulous!
You know I’m a bar fanatic :) I love adding pretzels into baked goods. salty sweet? Awesome. Happy weekend
Peanut butter, pretzels, and chocolate=the best combination ever! I must give these a try!!
Please accept my undying gratitude. Genius.
Sending much love to you in return for a package of these being delivered on my doorstep! :-)
I will definitely be making these for my husband to take to work! Sound delicious!
You seriously just took all my favorite ingredients and put them together in bar form. I love you.
Haha, I am actually hungry, and I would love one of those for my midnight snack (its midnight over here). They look great!
Wow, LOVE the salty-sweet combo. I’m eating trail mix now but wishing I had one of these bars instead!
Oh, yum! I’m thinking I might need about a dozen of these to give me some energy to get through today!
PB + Pretzels = Love. Can’t wait to try this one!
Oh my! I’ve been wondering how I was going to use the leftover pretzels I used for a recipe…I think I just found it!
Hehe, it’s good to know you have your priorities straight ;)
Making these soon. Yummmm
immediately pinned to my eat board. oh my god.
sweet & salty & crunchy my favorite combination!
These will need to be added to my “to do” list as I sit here at my desk with a MoJo bar for snack.
Yum!! Love the sweet/salty combo :)
Flip bars! I love flips and therefore I love these. Awesome combination of flavors right there!
Why is sweet and salty so, SO delicious? My college had chocolate covered pb filled pretzels in bulk bins at the dining hall. It was dangerous. I usually used “women’s troubles” to justify taking a bag the size of a chihuahua home with me.
