Jessica, we have that SAME EXACT fire pit!!!!! OMG!! If ours could tell stories…
It used to be a tradition to burn our dead Christmas trees in our old cul de sac in the middle of January and here in Arizona it can get pretty dry (duh), so the trees are PERFECT for burning, having lots and LOTS of brown needles on them if any at all. The tree will fit just perfectly into the pit after a little trimming on the bottom, in case you wanted to know. This one year the trees were REALLY dry. One at a time they were ignited in the pit and each of them became a towering inferno – one even shad flames that shot up as high as our two story house!!!! No joke. I can’t believe the neighbors across the cul de sac didn’t call the fire department!!! The thing got so hot, it actually melted the wheels to the pavement.
Ah, I miss those crazy days. I’ll have to send you a picture of ours. It certainly isn’t in the same condition as yours!

So beautiful! Esp that blue moon. Does it really get any better than an icy blue moon and fresh orange! I’m really craving a vacay right now. Love your photos Jessica! :)

Love the photos, Jessica! I can smell the campfire already. And that shot of the s’more with the sunset in the background? I’d ask if there’s anything more heavenly than that but I’m afraid there’s not. Besides that icy beer, of course. That’s a given.

OK, I could sit in those chairs all day with that delicious looking drink in my hand. What was it?

  9. Sam @ Better With Sprinkles — July 29, 2012 @ 11:54 am Reply

    Now I just really want a s’more. :-)

  10. Ashley — July 29, 2012 @ 12:02 pm Reply

Strawberry mojito?? mmm You guys hate s’mores, huh?

  11. Courtney — July 29, 2012 @ 12:05 pm Reply

What area of northern Michigan are you staying in? I thought it would always be fun to rent a house with my family in Charlevoix or Petoskey!

  12. Dixie — July 29, 2012 @ 12:56 pm Reply

Beautiful pictures! Looks like my kind of vacation!

  13. Holly — July 29, 2012 @ 1:47 pm Reply

Now I just really dislike you kind of. Stemming purely from jealousy. And the fact that I want a s’more for lunch.

I bet you wish you could bottle these two weeks and save them up forever! :)

I’ve heard that s’mores are even better when you use a Reese’s peanut butter cup. I seriously need to try that a-sap.

Fire pit + blue moon on the beach. Swoon.

These last two posts serve to further prove my theory that it isn’t a vacation unless there’s sand and sea involved.

Smores on the beach at sunset……YES ma’am!!

I’m sitting here at work, in a cubicle, under fluoro lighting, with cubicle dividers around me, no natural light whatsoever. Just opened your email, looked at your beautiful photography, and felt my body sigh !!! Hope you’re having an amazing time, your photos are wonderful, wish I was there ! J xx

    Ahhhhh!
Have a good vacation and thank you to bring us recipes and laughter through your blog.
You should try Québec (Canada) for a vacation sometime! I can picture you in some spots, our Charlevoix county being one!
