April Favorites: Beauty.
Hey hey end of April!
I loved this month. It was fast and I think it even snowed but I still loved it nonetheless.
A bunch of you have asked to see where I keep my makeup but I don’t have anything special. I keep almost everything in one of those train cases you can get at ulta (think a newer caboodles!) and mine is about ten years old and falling apart. I have a makeup bag (you can see it here) that has my everyday products in it, and I rotate the things in there. I keep eyeshadow palettes stacked under my sink next to the train case and keep lip glosses/sticks in a little basket there too. The train case holds all single eyeshadows (mostly MAC & urban decay), blushes (a couple tarte & MAC), liners, powders, brushes, etc – everything! We have little to no cabinet space in our bathroom so I can’t hoard as much as I’d like.
Let’s talk about face stuff. After all those months of waiting for the Josie Maran moisturizer to be reformulated, I bought it last month and totally HATE it. It’s insanely sticky. I’ve given it three weeks of use and it’s crap. I can barely move it on my face, it’s that thick and sticky. Makes no sense. I’ve read some reviews saying the new version seems more moisturizing but I do not agree. It’s like I’m wiping glue into my skin. I can surely keep it on hand for sunscreen emergencies, but there is no way I can use it as a daily moisturizer. Which means I’m still looking for one, preferably without tons of junk in it. Since it’s something I wear on my face all day everyday, I’d like to keep it as simple as possible. With sunscreen, of course.
I’m still using the beauty booster serum that I talked about last month and am l-o-v-i-n-g it. My skin isn’t quite as dry but I’m sure that’s due to the weather. Sooo below is what I’ve really been reaching for all month.
Speaking of sunscreen, remember this sun bum stick I bought last summer? It’s almost finished now but it’s been perfect for late afternoon walks. I keep it in my kitchen and come mid day if I venture out on a little walk, it’s perfect to add some quick sunscreen to my face since it’s been hours since I applied moisturizer. Plus, it smells like wonderful fruity bananas or something. I adore it. Also perfect to keep in my purse. Definitely going to get another one of these this year. I find mine at Ulta.
Another little sunscreen I grabbed was this Shiseido 50+ at Sephora. This is actually a mini bottle (the 1 ounce) so again, fits perfectly in my purse. The consistency of this stuff is awesome. It’s not greasy by any means and some days I could probably get away with using it as moisturizer. They have larger versions too, but I doubt I’ll grab one of those since they are pretty pricey. I like the neutrogena sport face SPF 70 too, which costs much less.
Lip things! Still love on the NYX butter gloss. I like this because I don’t even need a mirror to apply it and it smells like cake. I want to eat it up. Yeah yeah, I sound like a broken record.
Last month I bought a bite beauty cashmere lip cream in moscato. It happens to be super close color-wise to MAC’s candy yum-yum, which is one of my all-time favorite lip colors and one I’ve lost. I’m sure it’s stashed in a pocket or purse somewhere but I haven’t been able to find it for months. The texture of this lip cream is awesome – it’s not totally matte but it’s close. It is still moisturizing though too. And gorgeously bright and wonderful. LOVE. I want more of these.
I also got one of the bite beauty matte creme lip crayons and this one is in kumquat. Again, so super smooth and not drying at all. These kind of remind me of the revlon matte balm stains, but the bite beauty versions are supposedly “better” for you – like food grade ingredients. This color is perfect for spring and summer and doesn’t quite match the other two revlon matte balms I have. Really like these things.
I know I’ve mentioned this MAC paint pot quite a bit, but it’s easily my favorite shade. I’m not completely nuts over these paint pots because I feel like they dry out quickly (I actually like the maybelline color tattoos better), but this matte shade in stormy pink is so pretty. It’s a pinkish/purplish/grey shade and is awesome underneath the naked 3 palette…
Which brings me to my next favorite. Last month I had whipped out my naked 2 palette but I think I can say for certain that my choice out of the three would be this third one. I love these shades with my green eyes. For everyday, I get a lot more use out of the first seven shades, but I also use the other half quite a bit too. This was just MADE for me.
Mascara loves of the month are loreal voluminous in carbon black and maybelline the falsies flared. I’m pretty much done buying expensive mascaras because I love these two so much – unless we are talking about the purple and burgundy versions of YSL fauxcils because those… I flip over.
Sometimes I mix these two, sometimes I wear them alone, it just depends. I find that there are days when I prefer one over the other but it’s never set in stone. Both work on my super stubby lashes.
Another oldie but goodie is my milk chocolate soleil bronzer. I KNOW. I won’t shut up about it. Perfect shade, smells like chocolate. There is nothing else to be said. If you have fair skin, you need this.
This blush is one of my only estee lauder products and I bought it last spring. I think that I love it so much because it reminds me of something I’d have in the 90s. Actually, it’s so 80s. This is the gelee blush in tease and is the prettiest shade of shimmery pink. As long as my eye makeup is fairly natural, this adds a pretty glow to the cheeks. But if I have a ton of eye makeup on? Then I look like 1987.
Still working through my little high beam sample and loving it. I have checked out all the other shades of benefit’s highlighters and this is easily my favorite. I actually can’t find another liquid/cream highlighter that I like as much. And I only use a few drops on my cheeks. This.lasts.forever.
If you follow me on instagram, then these nail choices should come as no surprise. These two shades are from butter london’s spring collection last year – fruit machine and molly coddled. They are just the perfect radiant orchid-like colors. I’m a sucker for those.
I’m also still really liking the the nirvana white elizabeth and james fragrance. I wore the black a good bit in winter but this seems more springy to me. Definitely a change from my usual, but it smells like heaven.
For the first time in 1.5 years, I’m talking about something different in hair! You know I’m obsessed with the macadamia oil deep repair masque (and I still am), but I saw this alba mask in whole foods a few weeks ago and grabbed it. It was much cheaper than the macadamia one and I tend to love alba products. I’ve used it about five times so far and I’m really liking it. I’m currently out of my macadamia tub, but I want to compare them on consecutive days and see which I prefer.
And this one smells delicious too.
And talking about good enough to eat: desert essence coconut lotion. GAH. This stuff. Sometimes whole foods has it on sale and that’s when I’ll grab it. I’ve used multiple bottles of this stuff over the years and never get over how delicious it smells. I think I like the scent better than the trader joe’s coconut body butter. Adore. My creme de corps is almost finished so I’m alternating between this and the estee lauder bronze goddess I talked about last month.
That’s a wrap for this month. Let me know what you’re loving! I’m eyeing that too faced chocolate bar eye palette but I sooooo do not need another eye palette. I have all the naked palettes and a few more on top of that. It’s so not necessary. Trying not to cave. What are you freaking over? Please tell me you have a fantastic daytime moisturizer you love.
{as usual, none of this is sponsored and all of these products were purchased by me. i am not affiliated with any of the companies above, nor do i accept free products. just love to talk about what i like, makeup junkie to makeup junkie. there are a few amazon affiliate links above. thank you for being here!}

As far as moisturizers go- have you tried CeraVe AM (as opposed to their PM option)? It has SPF 30 and can be found at drugstores (or Target, Walmart, etc). I’m a dermatology nurse and prefer this over a few other drugstore options, plus it is significantly cheaper than ones you can buy at Sephora. Cetaphil has a daily moisturizer that is SPF 50, but it smells too sunscreeny for me.
I have been looking for a drugstore mascara that would compare to my fave BadGal lash and I LOVE Loreal’s Voluminous Butterfly.
Thanks for your beauty faves….I look forward to this post every month!
I second the CeraVe AM suggestion. I find it is light enough to use daily under makeup and seems to be moisterizing enough.
i haven’t tried cerave but i’ve heard wonderful things – mainly because it still has parabens and i’m kind of looking for a daily moisturizer without them? i’m such a hypocrite though, i’ll use colored makeup with parabens and i’ve read the conflicting research about them… so many i will get the cerave a chance!
I love these posts and look forward to them every month. I usually purchase at least one time you mention- so thank for fueling my addiction.
So, tell me, what are your favorite Naked 3 color combos? I’m constantly looking for new ways to use that palette.
i’d say for most everyday i use a lot of dust, burnout, limit and buzz. but i also use nooner a lot – often in the crease. and for a more dramatic look i love a little of darkside or blackheart (or a combo of both!)
This might be old news to you, but I’m really enjoying the Aveeno positively radiant day lotion. It’s not enough during the dry winter months, but in the summer it’s very light and smooth, like wearing nothing. I find it seems to even out my skin tone. I used to exclusively use clinique, but I don’t like the new formulation, I find it doesn’t absorb as well. I’ve tried the Aveeno calming, and both are pretty reasonable options that leave my face feeling neutral. I also really love the Jouer luminizing, but I tend to use that over a base coat moisturizer. Every time I wear the Jouer someone says my skin looks like it’s glowing!
I actually tried that last year but also found that it wasn’t moisturizing enough – maybe it was getting cooler at the time. i’d love the try the jouer stuff!
Gorgeous facial moisturizer from Lush! Love it!
I love these posts! I too am super into the neutral pink eyeshadows right now. The other two Naked palettes never interested me, but I snapped up Naked 3 as soon as I could justify it. No regrets.
I also have an eye palette problem. Like, majorly. I swore off buying more, and then I got the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette as a Valentine’s gift from my girlfriend. The shadows are really, really nice. Smooth and pigmented. And they smell like that cocoa butter body butter from The Body Shop. The smell isn’t noticeable once they’re applied, but sometimes I just open the palette to smell it, because I’m super weird.
My daytime moisturizer right now is The Body Shop’s Aloe Soothing Day Cream for sensitive skin, which is… okay to nice? Not amazing, but it doesn’t make my face freak out and it gets rid of all but the most stubborn flaky bits. I’ve been attacking those with Tarte Maracuja Oil because I got a little sample with their Christmas set.
I’ve heard good things about Paula’s Choice products, and they’re having a deal right now where if you spend $50 you get a free 2-week sample of one of their RESIST moisturizers. No SPF on the free samples (booo) but they have tons of choice for other moisturizers with SPF, which I might have to try if the sample I ordered works out.
Love these recommendations! I almost misread “desert essence” as “dessert essence”. That would have been one interesting lotion. :)
I also use CeraVe and I’m a big fan! You should try it!
Have you tried Philosophy “Hope in a Jar”? I discovered it a few years ago and I love it. You can try it out at Ulta before you buy. I find the texture to be like whipped butter. I kind of gob it on, rub it all over and let it soak in for 5 minutes while I put my eye makeup on, then rub it in again. My skin used to get really dry flaky patches like eczema and now I don’t have any issues. I believe it has SPF 15 in it. I bought SO MANY lotions from the drugstore and wasted a ton of money because I thought Philosophy was too expensive. But I love that you can try it out before you buy at Ulta and Sephora…saves so much money on wasted product!
i tend to stray from philosophy products because of the scent… i did use the tinter moisturizer before though and liked it well enough. a bunch of people are recommending this so i may try it!
I’ve been dying to get my hands on the Naked 3 Palette! I’ve been cleaning up my beauty routine and ditching chemicals and my latest obsession is the Andalou Naturals line, especially the face cream. I’m shocked that it doesn’t cost more money because it is so rich and moisturizing. I found mine at Earth Fare and I’ve seen it at a few more stores too. Check it out!
awesome, thank you! i am trying to do the same to some extent.
As always, in all of the vast internets, this is the only blog post I read consistently, and you don’t let me down! I’ve been loving Mac’s Bare Study paint pot on the lid and my cheapo Rimmel bronzer in my crease. Also, L’oreal makes a Double Extend mascara that makes it look like I might have some length to my sad, short eyelashes. I keep wanting to re-try the old original Voluminous, but always forget about it in the store.
Glad April treated you well!
I went onto Ulta’s website and found the Sun Bum brand, but no stick :(
Also, I use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel and am quite happy with it!
i think i found the stick in the travel size section by the registers last summer. maybe once we get more into summer, it will show up!
You have got to try the Supergoop City Sunscreen Serum. It is extremely lightweight, sinks in quickly so makeup can be applied smoothly and right away and is absolutely the furthest thing from sticky. Plus they use good for you ingredients.
very intrigued by this!
Loved your favorites I really liked most of these products!

I’ve tried a LOT of moisturizers because I want SPF but don’t want that heavy, thick feeling on my skin. To me, if I have to wash my hands after I apply it, then I don’t like it. I finally came across this: http://www.shiseido.com/benefiance-wrinkleresist24-day-emulsion/0730852103061,en_US,pd.html&crossSell=true Totally light and non-greasy. Not cheap, but I’m picky so I pay it. And it’s nowhere near as expensive as what I use in the winter :)
i’ve used the eyecream version of this before and really liked it!
I am obsessed with anything NAKED branded. Was a genius move on UD’s part to come out with a naked line.
I use the stila liquid illuminated because I found it at Nordstrom rack for $7 and it’s just as amazing, IMHO as the benefit high beam! I love it.
Now the chocolate bar palette, I bought it because I had some friends who are obsessed but I will be honest…I don’t think it’s that great. Maybe it’s mine, but the colors do NOT stay on my lid like UD. When I blend they blend off and it takes twice as long to apply my makeup. I am debating returning it, because frankly, I’m
Disappointed.
sad! i know i’m partially drawn to it because everyday when i use my bronzer, i smell the chocolate and want my eyeshadow palette to smell like chocolate…
nothing ever compares to urban decay shadows for me though, so i could totally see that happening.
In the moisturizer department: about a month ago I bought “Say YES to Carrots” and I love it. Found it at Target in the natural beauty aisle. It’s super light and has SPF. The only drawback is that it smells a little weird, but I figure that’s because it’s carrots. It’s done great things for my skin and I swear I’ve had less extreme breakouts. I love their grapefruit body wash too!
Face Cleanser- totally the Whole Foods 365 brand; it’s just like cetaphil only it doesn’t contain parabens. Love their body moisturizer too for the same reason (plus it’s cheap)…Guerlain eye shadows, mascara and lipsticks are amazing and I actually love Clinique for tinted moisturizer, everyday exfoliating cleanser and their day/night face moisturizers.
I have super picky skin, but for over a year now I’ve been using the “simple” line of moisturizers and loving them! Nothing fancy, no dyes/perfumes, just some vitamins and goodness to moisturize your skin. They have several options, including ones with SPF. Target carries quite a few of their products.
we use the face washes and love them!
I got the BITE crayon in Grape as well as the lipstick in Lavender and love them both! For daily moisturizer, I’ve used Patricia Wexler Skin Brightening Daily Moisturizer for years and really like it. I buy it at Bath & Body Works.
Gah, I’m trying to convince myself not to get the Chocolate Bar palette too. I’ve got PLENTY of similar palettes but I haven’t heard a single bad thing about the Chocolate Bar palette and it’s just calling my name. Plus, duh, it’s adorable.
I am a huge fan with anything in coconut. I cannot get enough of that smell.
Yay! I love these posts.
Ok, my favorite moisturizer right now is: CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion AM for normal to dry skin. It has SPF30. I’ve been using it for months, and I’m one of those people whose skin breaks out the minute I switch anything about my beauty routine. But this is one new product that didn’t bother my skin one bit. Plus, it’s easily available at the grocery store!
I’m loving: my Anastasia brow pencil SO much. I have huge caterpillars, though. I know you’re hit-or-miss on Benefit They’re Real mascara, but I just bought Benefit ‘BAD gal’ and I like it more. I read that Giada only uses volumizing mascara and NOT lengthening because it looks too doll like. So, BAD gal doesn’t have lengthening in it, so I bought it. I like it so far…
BUT, my favorite new purchase is Makeup Forever Professional Aqua Eyes eyeliner. I’ve always had problems with eye liner smearing on me, and the lady at Sephora told me it’s because none were Waterproof. So, I went in to buy the Kat Von D tattoo liner because it is freaking phenomenal. However, I’m not smart enough to use liquid liner, so she recommended the Makeup Forever one. Freaking LOVE it.
PS I forgot to ask you: Do you read Paula Begoun? Her books are ‘don’t go to the cosmetic counter without me’ and she calls herself the Cosmetic Cop. She reviews all beauty products and rates them. She’s awesome. There are definitely some products that she hates that I love (she hates Philosophy stuff), but anyway, I always check her recs before buying anything.
i feel the same as you. some stuff she hates that i love but i do some research on her site from time to time and found some great things i would not have tried including city block spf from cinique and mac lmarine bright toner/lotion (its a moisturizing toner)
yes i do read her! i feel the same – almost everything i love she hates. she also makes me rethink many things. i am still too stubborn to try her line though because i hate that i can’t test it in stores… ha. but yes i check it for reviews always.
I use “Simple” brand daily moisturizer with SPF, it’s,as you can imagine, pretty simple–which seems to agree with my sensitive skin. I’m also loving my Lorac Pro palette (finally caved) and NYX butter glosses!
I have heard great things about that Naked Palette…I may have to bite the bullet and get one. One product I’ve been loving lately is RMS Beauty’s Unpowder:
http://theactorsdiet.com/2014/02/20/touchable-face/
It’s good for gals w combo skin like mine…
If you haven’t tried it, Philosophy Hope in a Jar original is by far my favorite daytime moisturizer, although I don’t like the one with SPF, it’s a little stickier.
I just splurged on the hourglass dim light ambient lighting powder and the radiant magenta blush. OBSESSED. My skin looks ah-mazing with this combo! I’m also loving Marc Jacobs eyeliner and lip gloss/lacquer. I recently picked up some Bobbi brown shadows and am really loving the formula…I want about 4 more! I tried some bite products today at sephora, I think that’s going to be my next buy. Really gorgeous colors. Lastly, Diorshow brow styler pencil is my new fav brow product, it’s perfect! I also want the new nars contour blush….and contour brush.
bite is awesome, i just bought that perfume (love the black version too!), and my wonderful friend just gifted me naked3 and it’s fab. great picks!
from – The Lion’s Den
I’m super eagerly awaiting my Bronze Goddess perfume order — it got into my local UPS hub like, right after they usually sent the trucks out on Friday.
I’ve been drenching myself in Home Health’s Almond Glow before drying off after my shower. And I’ve been super into Urban Decay’s 24/7 Eyeliner in Black Velvet since I can smudge it out a bit how I want it and it stays put despite rubbing my eyes constantly from my allergies!
Try the Peter Thomas Roth mineral powder sunscreens! They have SPF 30 & 45. The brush applicator thing kind of sucks… But the product works like a dream and it’s the best to put over makeup & have on hand in your purse.
Facial moisturizer – I have been using the Hydraphase UV lotion spf 30 by La Roche Posay for about 4 years now, and am really happy with it. It absorbs very quickly, has a very light scent, and my skin feels great. You can sometimes get samples of it, let me know if you want me to keep an eye out for you!
Sunscreen – also la roche posay, the anthelios xl melt in cream. it’s spf 60, absorbs SUPER quickly and doesn’t feel greasy at all. I stock up whenever it’s on sale, bc it’s not cheap, but I think it’s absolutely worth it.
Body – still loving the josie maran whipped argan oil one.
Have you tried REN? I have really sensitive and fair skin and have struggled for years to find moisturisers that do what I want them too. REN products are free from the synthetics, additives etc so I know I can choose from the range without having to worry. It has made a huge difference to my skin. There isn’t any spf in the moisturisers, which I like as I prefer spf in my make-up, which is enough for me as I spend my time creeping from shady spot to shady spot trying to avoid the sun completely!
i have not!
We’re pretty similar– I have dry, fair skin and green eyes. As such…
I LOVE the Naked 3 palette. I wasn’t tempted by 1 or 2, but as soon as I saw 3, I knew that baby was coming home with me. I use pretty much all of the shades, which is rare for a palette (especially such a large one!)
For moisturizer, I recommend the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer. First lotion that’s ever REALLY helped my dry skin.
Right now I’m totally crushing on the Too Faced Melted lipstick in Melted Fuchsia. Can’t bite the bullet yet! I bought a cheap NYX dupe, but it’s totally not the same!
i am LOVING those melted lipsticks – i haven’t bought one either but they look so cool!
I expected to hate the new Josie Maran lotion (based on all the Sephora reviews begging for the old version), but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. The texture is definitely thicker, but I think it actually makes my skin really happy. It sinks in well, and I swear it’s been keeping my skin less shiny (always a win for me). If you aren’t already, try using a toner before applying it – makes a huge difference for me.
Do you find voluminous mascara to be too “wet”? I really want to like it, but so far the only way I do is if I open it, and then leave it (closed, of course) in my makeup bag for a month or so to let it “dry” out a bit. Otherwise my lashes clump a bit too much. Otherwise I stick with CG last blast or Maybelline cat eyes.
i usually do use a toner each morning, but maybe i should pay more attention to using it right before. i really want to love it!
and i don’t find voluminous to be wet AT ALL. but that’s possibly because i sometimes use benefit’s they’re real (love/hate) and maybelline the rocket and both seem super duper wet to me?
Have you ever tried Divine Cream from L’Occitane? it feels like silk going on and smells divine!! Great products without all those yucky parabens and other bad things you can’t pronounce: ).
I look forward to reading your blog. Thanks for your thoughts and hope you have just as great May!
i have not, but i love l’occitane so much.
I think I need to try these mascaras! I love a good cheap make up find!
Great breakdowns and reviews of these products! I love it! I have green eyes as well so I think I’m going to have to get on board with the Naked 3 palette. I’m pretty basic with my skin care, becauseI have noticed the more I try to do to my face the more angry my face gets. I moisturize every day and night with Olay Regenerist cream and they just came out with a Olay Luminous Regenerist cream to help even skin tone. I love both products and use the religiously. They are really light and feel wonderful. I have pretty sensitive skin, but this stuff never irritates it. Olay beat out a ton of really expensive face creams. You should see if it works for you!
xo,
That Comfort Girl
i love bite beauty lip stuff! i just got a lip liner from the walnut st sephora after prob inking up every sq inch of skin i had left with colors. #wantthemall i use boscia bb cream but wanted to try something a little lighter and sheer for summer. this smells AMAZING and has great ingredients BUT was a bit too tacky on my combo skin. this would be perfect for dry skin though! http://andalou.com/index.php/all-in-one-beauty-balm-sheer-tint-with-spf-30.html
My favorite daytime moisturizer is the Simple line found at Target. I have tried tons of other pricey brands and I keep coming back to this one. I also really like their facial wipes. They don’t dry my face out and I also don’t feel like my face is sticky after using them.
i also love their facial wipes!
thanks for saying how you store your makeup. i never really thought of a train case but good idea. i recently was in need of a good sunscreen/moistruizer that’s not to goopy/sticky,. i got a PTR that i hated and took back. i ended up with Clarins SPF 40 Broad Spectrum (i went with no tint). i like it so far. its very thin which i like. So far so good. Do you put that stick SPF all over your face ? i would think it would break you out ? Well me. it would break me out. i stick with the powder/brush thing for late touchups but i wonder how long those are good for ? i still have some and its been like 2 years. I only use it for walks at lunch. I also really like Nuetrogena SPF for the beach for my face. Other than that…..I’m loving a cheek stain i got in my birchbox from benefit. surprised i like it so much ! Its Pie. And ive been over liner lately and just using basic browns and easy eye shadows. LOVE these posts
I am so in love with the Naked3 palette. I didn’t think I would like it but I am glad I doubted myself. I also use NYX butter glosses daily. I need more in my life.
Right now I am into Sally Hansen nail polish. I usually stick with Essie & OPI but SH polishes have a nice consistency and my nails stay chip free for a couple of days. That being said, Essie & OPI are about to launch their neon collections for the Summer. I will be all over those!
I bought the Naked 3 palette this month and I am in love. Also, I used my 20% off at ulta, so I obviously had to have it (plus my coupon would have expired if I didn’t use it and it would have been a waste). I’m now eyeing the Lorac summerglo palette (I think I like the one that is exclusive to Kohl’s). Not much on bright colors, but I love it!
i have debating whether the Naked 3 palette would be worth my time – I have brown eyes…and I tend to like neutrals/browns/bronze shades…but this palette intrigues me! I have sensitive skin too that reacts to the weather on a daily basis…mine is mostly dry. I’ve experimented with so many things over the past few years, but lately i’m really liking the combination of Avalon Organics Vitamin C moisturizer (with SPF) and a few drops of Fresh Seaberry Oil. I was not a big facial oil person until I bought the seaberry oil, it’s not greasy at ALL and it’s light enough to wear under makeup. I read on a blog somewhere that you should apply moisturizer first and then oil on top so the moisturizer is sort of locked in to place…so far so good! :)
Love that coconut lotion. My favorite lotion of all time is Barr and Co, original scent. It might change your life.
I use Arbonne R9 as my skin care routine and yes it is a lot of steps, but i loove it!. I have noticed a very visible difference with their products and I have only been using them for about a month and a half. Plus their products are very good for your skin.. check them out!

Love. love. love this post (like all your other ones) but this one especially because I am a makeup fiend!! I seriously think I have a problem lol! So seeing your beautiful suggestions and pictures makes me want to not only run out the door and buy some new things, but let’s me know i’m not the only one!
I have been using my Naked3 palette on the daily. My favorite is definitely Burnout.
I haven’t found a moisturizer I super-love, besides Philosophy Hope in a Jar. I just ran out so I’m using Boots Botanics Hydrating Day Cream and I like how lightweight it is for the spring/summer weather. I am definitely planning on getting the Hope in a Jar with sunscreen, soon.
For new stuff, I may have mentioned before, I tried the Mally Evercolor Poreless Face Defender…it’s kind of awesome. I save it for date-nights and stuff since it takes a little longer to put on than a finishing powder. It makes my skin SO smooth. I just got the Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder and I am super pleased with it for casual wear when I’m not using the Mally stuff. I recently purchased Lipstick Queen in Medievel and I am obesssed with it. I’m a huge fan of that popsicle/berry stained lip look and this is perfect for that and moisturizing. I have been pretty much wearing Medieval or Korres Lip Butters, daily.
my ulta just recently started carrying mally and lipstick queen and i want everything!
I am a makeup junkie and also LOVE face products. After spending thousands of dollars over the years, I now only use cleansing, moisturizing, etc from http://www.paulaschoice.com. She uses a ton of antioxidants and her moisturizers are far better quality than most. She also sells some fabulous specialty products which I also love. Oh and her cleanser removes every single trace of makeup! Check her out and do some reading on her site.
i do read her beautypedia site – it’s one of my go-tos!
I’ve been using the Andalou BB moisturizer cream as a daily moisturizer since November and I love it. I just ran out over the weekend. It’s thick but doesn’t leave a weird residue and I found the level of moisturizing to be sufficient for my skin. I do tend to get pretty dry in the long Minnesota winters but as long as I was using a heavy duty moisturizer at night I had zero problems with dry skin during the day. I think it’s about $20 for a 3 oz tube.
OH NO! I’m just now at the bottom of my Josie Maran moisturizer and was literally planning to pick another up this weekend! Please tell me the new one still smells like candy!
to me, it does not smell like fruit candy anymore. i am very sad.
(however a lot of people would leave comments here saying they hated the scent, so maybe we are in the minority)
My new tinted moisturizer is Laura Mercier and I LOVE it!!!!! My new favorite beauty purchase.
Also, I am 100% dedicated to Mario Badescu products (hand cream, face wash, etc…). They are the best! IF you are looking for a great hand cream, their everyday hand cream is $8 and AMAZING.
