Hiiiii.
So. I know I’m not a huge giveaway person, but I am totally blown away by your support and love and all that jazz lately, especially for Seriously Delish and how you’ve completely changed my life. I want to do, well… SOMETHING for each and every one of you and since I can’t buy you all a cocktail with a hug, I figured a giveaway of my favorite things would have to do.
This giveaway is from ME to YOU. I want to show you how much I appreciate you coming here everyday, the encouragement you’ve given me and your all around virtual fabulousness. You really do complete me, Jerry Maguire style. THANK YOU!
See below on how to enter to win all of these goods!Â
1. This Rebecca Minkoff Crosby tote. It’s no secret how much I love love love my mac clutch bags and mini macs. And my cupid satchel. I love every bag she makes and am totally drooling over this for fall.
2. Jeni’s ice cream! 4 pints to be exact. This should last you, like… five minutes.
3. A Vitamix blender. I’ve become the biggest hypocrite on the planet because for years I said I’d never buy one and would rather buy shoes. But I took the plunge earlier this year and it was seriously LIFE CHANGING. Talk about the thickest milkshake-like smoothies and the creamiest soups. To die for.
4. One year subscriptions to my favorite foodie magazines: Donna Hay and Delicious. These are my go-to for photography inspiration. LOVE. Nothing else compares in my opinion.
5. A fit bit flex. It’s been close to a year since I’ve gone on and on about my fit bit. I completely adore it – not as a workout tool, but more so as a reminder to live an active lifestyle.
6. Two of my favorite books: the Flavor Bible and Bird by Bird. One of the most frequently asked questions I get is how do I come up with recipes – and one of the answers is the Flavor Bible! If I really want to make something with a certain ingredient, I’ll search it and see what flavors pair the best. And Bird by Bird… well it’s a classic that gets me through life. Pretty much.
7. Ummm…. chocolate? Do I really need to explain this one? This is one of my favorites. I need to share.
8. Gift cards to some of my favorite places: $50 to each. One to Sephora, one to Athleta and one to Starbucks. Because I’m a sucker. (if you don’t like coffee GET THE CROISSANT!)
And lastly – this colorful set of my favorite le pen pens and a moleskin notebook (MY LOVE!). It’s school supply time people!! But really, these pens are the bomb dot com. (sorry.)

Oh, and I preordered. I can hardly wait to get my hands on a copy!
My magic moment was trusting my gut and making a HUGE move for my career! So far it’s been amazing.
My magic moment stated as shock, and sadness. On June 9th my Mom was diagnosed with Leukemia. This was devastating and life altering news. My Mom is in generally good health, and went to the emergency room thinking she had a migraine. We quickly learned my Mom had blood cancer and that it had spread to her spinal fluid. I decided to take a leave of absence from work and have spent the last 11 weeks by my Mom’s side as she battles cancer. After rounds of chemo and radiation therapy my Mom was ready for a a bone marrow transplant to hopefully give her a second chance at life. My Mom’s transplant took place on August 13th and she is still in the hospital recovery but is doing as well as could be expected. The magic is that a complete stranger that may never meet my family, or my Mom donated healthy stem cells to a complete stranger, in hopes to save her life. It is the ultimate selfless sacrafice. Bone Marrow is donated by healthy living individuals and anyone can sign up to donate at bethematch.org. I have had many sad moments this summer but I continually remember the magical gift given to my Mom and am in awe at how truly amazing people can be! I love your blog and it has given me some sense of still having a normal life as I have read it when I can squeeze it in. I have not shared this story with many but found it therapeutic to type this message-thank you! Congratulations on all the milestones, moving, published book, and baby makes 3! I know you often reflect on the blessings in life but try to cherish all these great memories.
My entire summer has been pretty magical! We’re expecting our first child, and plan on making lots of moments into memories next week on our “babymoon” (hate that phrase, too) in North Carolina. Since this will presumably be our last childless vacation, I foresee magical moments of beach walks, gelato, and melted butter running down my chin & onto a white sundress I’ll be dumb enough to wear in public.
Love everything about your blog, and can’t wait to pick up the book!
Eek I’ve preordered your cookbook too. OMG so excited for this.
My magic moment was my 20th high school reunion. Crazy memories brought into the present!
My magical, aha moment this summer is all about next winter! I will embrace winter here in the midwest, I will not sit on the couch eating cake (well, not all the time) and I will get out into the snow and I will smile! First, a couple cute new scarves and hats, maybe some new mittens… that ought to do it! And cooking. I will be the soup and stew woman. Hot meal, cold snow, no problem!
My magic moment of the summer was marrying my wonderful husband! Can’t get much better than that.
Reaching a 12,000 ft peek was a most magical moment on a recent trip to Colorado. IDidn’t think I would make it and I discovered the wonders of altitude sickness, but it was totally worth it for the views (and my sandwich) at the top!! Next time I’ll need to bring a fit bit :)
My magic moment was the birth of my son!
Best moments of the summer have been going down the big slides with my 2 year old and eating pints and pints of blueberries.
Magic moment…watching the sunrise over the lake in my hometown.
My magical moment was when I brought my new puppy home for the first time :)
So many magical moments have happened this summer , but the one thr stands out the most would have to when my husband surprised me and our daughter by coming home from training early & her screaming dada for the first time. (Melt!)
Weekends at the lake with my family will always be the best parts if my summer
My most magical moment from summer was when my sweet boyfriend proposed to me! He planned out the most perfect day, complete with all of our family members to help us celebrate. I have spent the rest of the summer wedding planning! Cannot wait for your cookbook to come out. Your receipes are our favorite!
I absolutely pre-ordered Seriously Delicious on Amazon as soon as I heard about it. Can’t wait to get it and get new recipe inspiration!!
Our move from Hawaii to California went pretty smoothly! Our dog survived the plane trip across the ocean without making a huge mess. We went on a road trip to my brother in law’s farm, and my dog had a blast out there running freely. Love seeing him in his crazy element.
My magical moment of the summer was meeting my sweet little nephew for the first time. He was barely two days old, and he was (and still is) the cutest little guy!
We had to travel across the country with 3 kids to attend a family wedding. I wasn’t looking forward to travelling, or the visit itself. Well, my worries were for nothing and we had a great time. My moment was at the wedding reception. The visit was going well, the kids were enjoying themselves and I got to dance the night away. Wonderful!
Magical moment: hiking in rural Sardinia with my boyfriend and encountering a stag (horns and all) in a cave in the middle of nowhere. We ran in opposite directions! Scary at the time, but I’ll remember it forever, and we haven’t stopped laughing about it since!
Hi Jessica! I’ve already ordered your book on amazon and I can’t wait for it to arrive!
My magic moment(s) this summer has been the family and friends that came to visit me in the Netherlands (I’m an expat from Greece). Spending time with my precious ones is all I need to be happy and have a magical time! Thanks for an amazing giveaway and all the best for your book! xoxo
My magic moment this summer was spending a week with my family at our lake house in northern Michigan. I live out of state so I don’t see them very often!
My magic moment was when I got the call that I received my dream job as a kindergarten teacher in the same school I went to! I start tomorrow and I can’t believe it!!
Wow!! My moment was travelling back to my hometown and witnessing my best friend mArry the love of her life. Picturing her walk down the aisle with her six year old son and her father still makes me tear up and I came back home with the most amazing memories. Love my girlfriends and love being able to go back home. :)
My magic moment from this summer was watching my first born take her first steps. I swear I was just a kid myself and now I’m responsible for a whole other person! It’s blowing my mind how quickly she’s already growing up.
My magic moment this summer was this past Thursday. We learned that we are expecting another (this is our second) baby boy! So incredibly exciting!
This summer, unlike previous summers, I challenged myself to take every opportunity to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. So, one magical morning while visitng a cottage, I got up before sunrise, made a pot of coffee, and say wrapped in a blanket on the dock overlooking the last. The mist was magical and the wildlife was slowing waking as the sun rose and in that moment, all was right in the world.
My magical moment was our vacation to Colorado! The weather was perfect, it was relaxing and much needed! There is nothing like waking up early and sitting on the deck with a big cup of steaming hot coffee while looking at the mountains!
My magic moment was the birth of my third child. It’s been completely overwhelming with three kids, but I wouldn’t change it for the world!
Fourth of July at the lake – fireworks, friends, good food, and beautiful, strangely cool Chicago summer weather.
Mine is very simple, but I would have to say today at the beach. It was the perfect day, blue sky, upper 70’s. The same beach I used to go to with my grandmother as a child. I have a playlist of songs that remind me of my childhood in the 70s (especially summer) and my current book, The Matchmaker (LOVE). It was a peaceful and beautiful day. Hopefully will get at least one more weekend day at the beach to enjoy this season.
Our dog became ill which seemingly seemed to happen overnight. We were told our beloved 7 yr old doberman had lymphoma and had maybe four weeks to live at most.
The magical moment happened a week later when after much testing the vet realized he was wrong in his diagnosis. Tears turned into happiness and every day with Brody since seems like a gift. What was going to be the saddest of summers turned into the most thankful of ones.
My magic moment was strolling thru Bonaventure Cemetery In Savannah, GA, with my sister and nephew just as a Summer thunderstorm began brewing overhead. Lovely.
Congrats on the book, Jess! Love your blog.
The best part of my summer has been reconnected with old friends near and far. Love feeling like no time has passed and being with friends who feel more like family.
Magic moment – watching my little guy swim for the first time. He’s always loved the water but was much more interested in paying and splashing than actually swimming. This summer he decided he wanted to swim like all his big cousins – and off he went! :)
My magic moment was giving birth to my daughter on August 7th. Thanks for the great giveaway!
magic summer moment: running my first half marathon!
This summer’s magic moment was Seattle’s Seafair weekend. Friends, family, great weather, good food, and the Blue Angels. Summer win!
My magic summer moment was finally getting a pool put in at my house, and being able to enjoy it!!

My magic moment was getting engaged at Mount Rushmore on my surprise birthday trip
So many! But if I have to pick one, let’s say surprising my best friend by flying out for her golden birthday party.
The most magical moment this summer was watching my son start walking! He was a little behind, and has been receiving some extra PT help, and suddenly – poof – he figured it out and is walking all over the place now. So amazing!
Looks like an awesome giveaway! :)
Finally meeting our goal of becoming debt free! Such an awesome feeling.
I’ve had so many magic moments! This summer I’ve trained for a half marathon, and I’ve seen my body do amazing things.
This summer has been so amazing! But if I had to choose the best magical moment of the summer it would be a tie between my beautiful neice saying my name for the first time & teaching my first ever yoga class (yay!!!)
I got engaged in July, and it was the most magical moment of the summer by far. I’m still not quite used to saying “fiancé” instead of boyfriend!
My magic moment came from a memory garden. My grandparents both loved gardening and passed away within the last year or so… This summer we finally were in a home with enough space to have a big garden. We planted everything from tomatoes & herbs to Petunias & marigolds. It flourished! And with each blossom we are able to remember the special memories we shared with them! :)
I also preordered your book!
