Nutella Oatmeal Cookie Shake.
This is a life changing day.
Life.Changing.
It just so happens to be the very first day I’ve ever shared ANYTHING with nutella on this blog. Yes. Anything.
Don’t even know how I feel about it. It’s like I’ve joined the masses. Well… more than I have already. Cue basic photos of lattes and shoes in the snow.
See? I used to loathe nutella. It wasn’t my thang at ALL.
Then I got pregnant. And I ate pinkberry for dinner like 35 times while traveling for the book tour and I’d always get nutella on top (along with the milk chocolate crunch – totally worth the extra fifty cents) which convinced me to buy a large tub of nutella which led me to EAT a large tub of nutella.
Many nights, pinkberry was the most delicious dinner choice in the airport.
So. I was eating this nutella off a spoon, putting it on my pancakes, spreading it on toast and melting it on ice cream.
I finally got the hype.
Do they make nutella lattes? Because I’d probably be all over that.
Lies. I’d for SURE be all over that.
I almost always think that it’s a cop out to share a smoothie or shake recipe (unless it involves booze, of course), but I’ve been drinking this since December and abso-freaking-lutely LOVING it. First, I love your guts for allowing me to share these sort of embarrassingly simple recipes with you while I get my act together. Second, this has been part of my omg-I’m-feeding-a-human-and-must-eat-oats phase so it’s made many a regular appearance in my kitchen. I want to make sure if I’m sharing a ridiculously easy “hey-that’s-not-REALLY-a-recipe” recipe, that it’s insanely delicious.
Plus, when I can eat nothing else but simple things to grab on the go, throwing a bunch of junk in a blender totally works. This is my real life normal at the moment.
Plus plus, did you know that some babies are sort of obsessed with the sound of a blender? Yeah, that’s a thing.
Plus plus plus, It tastes like a legit oatmeal nutella chocolate chip cookie. Truth.
No judgement if you accidentally on purpose drop a cookie in the blender.

I’d say you’ve gone too far with this but I can’t because I’m dying to drink it! It looks amazing!
**drops cookie into blender on purpose**
Yes! My local coffee place makes a SALTED Nutella latte with all the toppings. As the owner says, “It’s the one frou-frou drink that he makes that is actually awesome!”
The Italian grocery store here has a cafe attached and they make a Nutella latte. It is literally a gob of Nutella spread around the inside of the cup with espresso and steamed milk. It is divine.
Vanilla bean paste? Please explain
the paste is a jar of syrupy scraped-out vanilla beans and it’s awesome. it’s fairly pricey – you can find it at kitchen stores, williams sonoma, sur la table, etc, but many times i find it at homegoods or tjmaxx for under $10!
here is it on amazon:

i have to make this next week. just have to.

Oh yesss! This sounds fabulous. And for the record Nutella lattes are to die for! There’s a coffee house in my ‘hood that serves the best I’ve ever had. Rich and delicious and the baristas have assured me they are completely without calories! ;)
Wow… that looks really delicous – I love NUTELLA! I`ve to make this too :-)
Oh legit!! I’d totally drink this…though…
I still hate nutella. Darn it.
But maybe I’ll get preggers and love it someday too. But until then, I’d totally do it with chocolate and pb.
Also, lately I’ve been keeping and ice cube tray full of coconut milk cubes in the freezer, and this sounds like it could use those too!
coconut milk cubes = genius
The cookie is a must for me. This looks divine!!
I personally love “recipes that are not really recipes” ! Delicious simplicity is the best. Gonna try this shake for dessert tonight!
Nutella is like food crack… I can’t buy it or else I legit will eat it with a spoon! With that being said, if you made me this shake, I would certainly NOT turn it down… Actually I’d like one right now, thanks!

Divine! Why wouldn’t an awesome shake that makes my day better count as a recipe? Totally counts. Love that oatmeal choc chip cookies on the side are “mandatory!” :) I had a Nutella hot chocolate once. It. Was. EPIC!
That cookie looks amazing!!!! Recipe??

The boyfriend is going to flip for this! Oh I can’t wait to see his face when he takes the first sip. You never lose the little kid inside, and his always comes out when he’s drinking chocolate milk :) This is going to be epic!
Your first Nutella recipe is a definite success!
This is so gorgeous!
There is a European cafe called Intermezzo in Atlanta that has Nutella coffee! Its basically just Nutella slathered around the inside of the cup (and dripping over the sides), then it’s filled with espresso + a little cream. My husband and I had them on our first date! :)
oh man. i need that NOW.
Although it sounds amazing it doesn’t taste so great. It’s not thick enough to be called a shake and the flavor of the raw oats is overwhelming the other flavors. Disappointing.

I have this shake at least 4 times a week and I LOVE IT. I’m nursing and this shake is such a convenient treat! I put a little extra oats in, plus about a teaspoon of ground flax seeds and I love the consistency (definitely chewy). I also use cow milk rather than coconut. I like it with coconut, but my baby doesn’t mind me eating dairy and milk is cheaper. ;) Sometimes I make your lactation cookies and straight up toss 3 of them in the blender plus Nutella, milk and ice and call it a day (so freakin tasty!). Thanks for the inspiration. ;)

Thank you so much for having a nutella smoothie recipe that doesn’t include bananas.
Not that I’m against bananas, I just don’t have any right now so this is perfect!! Howsweeteats always has what I need!! Yey!!
Can I sub coconut milk for regular milk? Thanks.
