Tuesday Things.
1. I’m very Irish and Eddie is even more Irish but I don’t love Irish food. Do you love Irish food? I am dying to go to Ireland though. And no, I don’t think Lucky Charms count, don’t worry. (but can they?)
2. Completely craving theseĀ 20-minute ancho chicken tacos. Want want want.
3. Okay, in the newest Nordstrom catalog I cannot get over the models wearing high heeled strappy sandals… WITH SOCKS. Is this seriously going to be a thing? I mean I can’t get into this. I have no sense of style but this isn’t like mini backpacks of neon jeans. This is crew socks with stiletto sandals. Are you doing it?
4. I’m in the middle of a meat obsession. Yeah, yeah. I know. But all I want to eat is chicken and pork and steak. Carnitas for dinner tonight! That’s what that means.
5. If you’ve been reading for awhile, you know that Eddie and I have little sleep wars, i.e. he sleeps like a toddler and steals the covers and does crazy things at night and doesn’t remember. Now that I’m awake a time or two in the middle of the night, I can take pictures and videos of said crazy things. It’s awesome and excellent for your marriage. Trust me.
6. I am so whacked out in the early mornings that this morning? I saw “Pittsburgh – Sprinkles” scrolling on the bottom of the news andĀ I was like WHAT? What do sprinkles have to do with Pittsburgh? Is there a new store selling only sprinkles? Um no. They meant RAIN. I wish I was making this up.
7. I could not take The Walking Dead this week. At ALL. No no no. I don’t even want to see these last two episodes, I’m fearful. Are you excited for Game of Thrones to start? I’m ready for GIRLS to be over and maybe in the off seasonĀ Andrew Rannells can come be my best friend. I think Eddie wants to know if you’re watching Better Call Saul. I’m not, but he loves it. Oh oh oh want to know what the highlight of my TV week currently is? From 6-10AM on Sunday mornings they’ve been replaying every season of Mad Men. Eeeek.
8. Have you watched Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix yet? I watched most of it and I can’t put my finger on it… but I love Ellie Kemper and the song NEVER LEAVES MY BRAIN. I find myself dancing around all day singing UnnnnnBREAKable!
9. Who is your 90s fictional heartthrob soulmate? This is the 2015 version of celebrity MASH. I got Zack Morris. Which is, like, 874% true.

so much yes to Kimmy Schmidt! i’ve totally been singing the theme song around the house!
I love “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt!” I’m actually kind of surprised that I love it so much. I’m recommending it to everyone! I’ve been singing “Pinot Noir” all day today.
Umbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is freaking awesome. I wasn’t sure about it, until I read Tom and Lorenzo’s review and I gave it a try. I totally binge watched the whole thing this past weekend. The song is definitely catchy, but the Pinot Noir song is stuck in my head!!!!
I just took the quiz. I got JTT. Not very happy with that choice. . . .
i might have watched EVERY episode of Kimmy Schmidt on Sunday. Like, total binge watch, couldn’t stop….and 14 episodes later. Love it. Love her. Love that song.
…i got pacey and i’m not sad about it at all.
Socks and sandals … umm no — especially stilettos … no. Also, you taking pictures of your sleeping wars … I literally just laughed out loud .. winning!! My husband totally steals blankets too .. and we have multiple blankets on the bed!!
LMAO and 90’s crush — Will Smith LMAO hahaha so funny!
We’re watching Better Call Saul, but we’re still making up our minds about it. I have high hopes though… I think the backstory is all leading up to great things. Hoping. Also watching The Walking Dead and cannot believe what all is happening on that show. It’s CRAZY. Crazier than ever. This is like the 3rd time that I haven’t seen that coming AT ALL. Even when I know it’s always a possibility, I think “Nah, they wouldn’t do that.” Then they do it. Can’t believe it.
We are watching Better Call Saul and it’s really good!! Definitely starting to dig it more. I also started watching Parenthood from the beginning while Chris was out of town this weekend…bad mistake…or not ;)
I also watched Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (well except for the last episode, I fell asleep during it, I blame allergy meds). I couldn’t figure out what the second line of the theme song was so I googled it and there are so many articles explaining why you can’t get the theme song out of your head.
Also on the sleep wars thing, I once made a recording of my boyfriend snoring, and yep, definitely great for our relationship! At least we are still dating now.
They alive, damn it! Loving unbreakable right now!
I watched the first 3-4 episodes of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Sunday and am not sure if I like it or not? I’ll probably watch a few more after my Gossip Girl marathon. :D
I love Irish food, recently subscribed to Donal Skehan YouTube channel.
Socks with sandals are just a no. If you dare to wear socks with stiletto sandals then you need your sandal privileges revoked.
Wait. Speaking of Zach Morris, did you see that Kelly Kapowski got her own cooking show?! Um, life made..
haaaa! I got Zack Morris too! Did I ever tell you I wrote him a letter when I was like 8… and drew a picture of myself? It was not representative of the truth.
I also can’t get enough of unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt! The theme song is in our heads all the time too and our house. I also named my march madness bracket “unbreakable” ha ha maybe I will do well this year?
I’m loving Kimmy Schmidt! My husband and I both have the theme stuck in our head nonstop, too. I found this article explaining why haha: http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2015/03/unbreakable-kimmy-schmidt-theme-song
Walking Dead this week was nightmare-producing! So. Much. Gore.
My husband and I can’t get enough of unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt! The song is in our heads all the time too. I even named my March madness bracket “unbreakable.” Maybe I will do well this year?
Randy Taylor from āHome Improvementā which is amazing because i was totally in love with JTT.
Loooovee Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt! I loved 30 Rock so it’s definitely giving off those Tina Fey vibes. Also, NO to socks and sandals, whyyy?!
i like irish food. especially whisky chocolate baked things and baileys frosting.
the kimmy schmidt theme song is so so so catchy! also have you gotten to pinot noir yet? because that will be stuck in your head too.
might have to make those tacos!
I think Lucky Charms count for sure! Maybe because that’s as Irish as we’re getting today!
I got Zach Morris too!!! Swoon…..I clearly watched that saved by the bell clip with jimmy fallon 4523 million times.
I recently started watching Unbreakable, and I’m hooked! The show is hilarious! It has (partially) filled the hole in my heart since 30 Rock ended ā¤ļ»æ
munchies&musings
I’m watching “Better Call Saul” and loving it so far! It definitely has that “Breaking Bad” feel, but it’s also very original. I absolutely loved Mike’s back story last week.
Also, I’m itching to start watching “Unbreakable Kimmy,” but my boyfriend is willing to watch it with me and since we’ve been bingeing on “Parks and Rec” for the past two weeks, I think we are in unspoken agreement that we must finish that series first. I’m OBSESSED with it.
Also, The Walking Dead – just, no. I covered my eyes for like 5 minutes… poor Noah. :( (AND YES to Game of Thrones! Pretty stoked for that.)
My husband is such an annoying sleeper. I like the sheets tucked in and he has to have them untucked and cocoons himself in them. It has been an issue between us since day one. HA! Girls has been so boring and more weird and awkward than normal.
Unbreakable has been stuck in my head for like, two weeks now. They’re alive, dammit!
Kristina does the Internets
I literally JUST texted my friend saying “the kimmy song is in my head” a SECOND before reading that sentence.. dang! I like how the show feels so much like 30 Rock, which I loved, but I’m not totally sold on Kimmy yet..
Ahhh….I am totally stuggling with Walking Dead too! Yet still so addicted….

LOVE Kimmy! Wasn’t so sure of it 1-2 episodes in but got so hooked. Tituss is my favorite. And Pinot Noir is just too good!
Just no to the sandals with socks. No. Not okay! The nerve of Nordstrom to even attempt the trend!
The socks and stilettos are the 80s coming back around. They weren’t cute the first time either.
Love Better Call Saul. Love it that it is a new story with familiar faces.
Ugh, in response to #3 I totally am on the same page. Apparently, the 90s are making a comeback and it’s the worst thing ever – the clothes in Clueless were NOT CUTE. Even worse, I saw those woven tattoo chokers in a store the other day. Haha thanks for sharing <3 xo Lisa

Perhaps when you try Irish food here in Ireland you will like it better. We are mad for many different types of breads and scones. Our beef , lamb and pork dishes are delish. We excel at chocolate and crisps (chips). Our spuds (potatoes) are floury and taste of the fertile green earth. Come over and I think you will be able eat like a queen! No corned beef with cabbage in sight (I have never eaten these things together in my life as it is not a traditional Irish dish)
Irish food gets a completely bad rap! Enjoy every meal I had in Ireland when I was there. And why can’t you smuggle brown bread back to the US? Because it’s just not the same here!
Nancy I think it has something to do with the lack of preservatives in our bread. Towns all have home bakeries run by individual families and bread is baked fresh on the day and is delicious with just a good slather of butter- yum. Now I hungry!
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt – I’m EXACTLY the same way! I don’t know if I love it, but it’s quite fun and cheery. And that SONG. It’s in my head all day long!
RE: #3
To paraphrase Joan Crawford…No socks with sandals ever!!!
I feel asleep with the Kimmy Schmidt theme song stuck in my head and I felt like I was going insane. And now it’s back. Thank you, haha.
But the more I watch Kimmy Schmidt the more I liked it. I just watched the one about the love triangle which I thought was good, but I really liked the bday one.
Oh my goodness, that theme song for Kimmy Schmidt! I AGREE. It is on a continuous loop in my head……..at least it’s upbeat and happy but still. I’m gonna go crazy soon. Ps. I really disliked her on the Office but love her in this show! Weird.
This is my first comment on your page I think but I started reading through a friend recommendation (Haley over at http://www.thebluedishes.com/) a few months ago and you are just hilarious. Let it be known. :)
I got Jordan Catalano, which is really right up my 90’s-self-alley (and probably still a little today).
I have about three episodes of Better Call Saul to catch up on. My husband and I don’t really know how we feel about it. I’ll get back to it eventually. That said, I really can’t wait for Game of Thrones to come back. I need my Jon Snow fix.
I got Zach Siler from She’s All That, which ironically, is one of my favorite 90s films.
I find myself singing the Unbreakable theme song every day
I tape my husband at night, too. When I show him the videos he doesn’t find them as amusing as me, lol. Glad I’m not the only one!
Kimmy Schmidt– unreal. Females are strong as hell.
I am loving Better Call Saul. It will never live up to Breaking Bad, but I don’t think that people should be watching it and expecting it to. I’m an attorney, so I find myself relating to Saul’s misadventures in some way. I haven’t watched this week’s episode yet, but last week’s featured some of Mike’s back story, and it was one of the best episodes of television that I had watched in a long time. I had been asking myself who was going to find the show funny besides attorneys. It didn’t matter in that last episode, and that trend could continue.
Banoffee Pie!! That all you need to know about Irish food!
Zac Morris, uh….yeah!!!! :)
I got Casper McFadden from Casper… Not sure how I feel about that or even what that means for my romantic future but I did love that movie so I’ll take it. As for the socks and high heels… I’m sure they look pretty on the models but COME ON, normal people cannot get away with that. It’s like trying to glamorize tourists who wear Birkenstocks and thick white socks… shudder.
I guess I need to go and get caught up on Kimmy Schmidt! My husband LOVES Better Call Saul. I watched a few and its not my cup of tea. We both loved Breaking Bad, but this is just so different. As for socks and sandals. Nope!
Walking Dead OMG! I’m very fearful of the last 2 episodes myself. Was sooooo unreal this week, but a much better episode than the last few. No one is safe which freaks me out! I’m watching Better Call Saul, it’s getting better, they have gotten into Mikes back story which I really am enjoying, it was slow to start but I think it’s going to be great! I need to check out this Unbreakable show, I had never even heard of it! Thanks for all your updates, I can’t wait to read them every week and your little boy is so dang cute!!!
PACEY WITTER FOR LIVE
Ahhh Jessica you don’t like Irish food!!!!! I’m Irish and can promise we have some of the best food in the world. Amazing produce, world renowned cookery schools, city’s bursting with fabulous restaurants and a lot of Michelin starred restaurants thrown in for good measure :) All tastes catered for, vegan, fast food, fine dining, casual dining, super-foods.. you name it we have it.
I think a lot of the “Irish food” that’s shown in the states was invented for the movies with leprechauns :) As Emma Sweeney said, I also have never eaten corned beef and cabbage!! I cringe when I hear of typical Irish food that nobody actually eats!! You should take a trip over Jessica, I’m sure you would LOVE the food.. Let me know if you are and I’ll give you a list of recommendations, Love the blog by the way x
