12 Days of Christmas! Day 11: Q + A and a Giveaway! {CLOSED}
Thanks for asking all of these questions guys! I filmed in the dark, Max is running around screaming, the quality is not great, but I’m uploading and sharing anyway. Total real life and it’s kind of embarrassing. It is also THIRTY SEVEN (omg) minutes long and the amount of times I paused the video and was horrified at my expression? Too many to count.
Just a note that tomorrow’s last video and (HUGE!!!) giveaway will be uploaded a bit later – around 3 or 4PM EST. Lacy and I are having our big baking day and I’m going to film some it! Be sure to check back for tomorrow’s giveaway because it’s absolutely incredible and gorgeous!
Yesterday’s giveaway winner for the Jo Malone treats is Ashley who said “I definitely wore the Lucky You perfume by Lucky Brand. Honestly, I was complimented on it ALL THE TIME, so I’m not even sure why I stopped wearing it?!”
Congrats Ashley! Please email me at howsweeteats (at) gmail (dot) com with your mailing address!

I made your double chocolate cheesecake cookies for my cookie swap at work…I think it is a new favorite!
My mom makes these candy cane cookies, only they don’t taste like peppermint, they’re more like shortbread. Labor intensive but delish!

my grandma’s snowballs! nostalgia adds to the yumminess!
A good sugar cookie gets me in the holiday spirit every time! Everyone of all ages can decorate a sugar cookie so it’s a fun family activity.Â

Iced sugar cookies. Strange coming from a chocolate lover, but they’re so fun at Christmas!
My fav holiday cookie is definitely my grandma’s snowballs. They are the best!
I don’t know the name of the cookie but it has a block of cream cheese, a box of devils food cake, 1/4 c butter, 1 egg yolk, and 1/4 tsp of vanilla. Â It’s so chewy and my favorite!
I guess they’re not technically “holiday” cookies because they’re definitely year-round cookies but I always make them at the holidays so: My favorite holiday cookies are peanut butter blossoms
Butterscotch Haystacks! Pretty sure they are only reason chow mein noodles exist! Ha!

No question-Shortbread! My parents are from Scotland and I can’t get through the holidays with out making pans and pans of my Mum’s shortbread. These baking sheets would be SO AWESOME to use for my shortbread baking!!!

Just one favorite?! I love cookies, but I think snickerdoodles are always close to the top of the list.Â
My favorite Christmas cookies are bell cookies. They come from an old Betty Crocker cookie book and are simply sugar cookies shaped as bells with the center piece dyed either green or red. You are suppose to add a clapper but every year there isn’t enough dough for them.
Peanut butter Kiss cookies! Oatmeal M&M! Chocolate chip cookie! I can’t even choose!
My husband and I have been married for 9.5 years and have 2 cookie staples: iced sugar cookies (favorite) and gingerbread men (second favorite).

There are these perfect Christmas cut out sugar cookies topped with buttercream icing that are so simple yet so incredibly good. They are the perfect ratio of sweet and salty and buttery and the perfect soft texture. I don’t like to share them.
My favorites are my grandmother’s recipe – flaky almond sugar cookies…she called them “Heaven in Your Mouth”

It’s gotta be Norwegian peppekjekes. My grandma made them every Christmas when I was little. They are a spice cookie flavored with black pepper. It isn’t Christmas without them!
