12 Days of Christmas! Day 11: Q + A and a Giveaway! {CLOSED}
Thanks for asking all of these questions guys! I filmed in the dark, Max is running around screaming, the quality is not great, but I’m uploading and sharing anyway. Total real life and it’s kind of embarrassing. It is also THIRTY SEVEN (omg) minutes long and the amount of times I paused the video and was horrified at my expression? Too many to count.
Just a note that tomorrow’s last video and (HUGE!!!) giveaway will be uploaded a bit later – around 3 or 4PM EST. Lacy and I are having our big baking day and I’m going to film some it! Be sure to check back for tomorrow’s giveaway because it’s absolutely incredible and gorgeous!
Yesterday’s giveaway winner for the Jo Malone treats is Ashley who said “I definitely wore the Lucky You perfume by Lucky Brand. Honestly, I was complimented on it ALL THE TIME, so I’m not even sure why I stopped wearing it?!”
Congrats Ashley! Please email me at howsweeteats (at) gmail (dot) com with your mailing address!

My favorite holiday cookies are the spritz almond cookies. Probably because they are so small that I feel like I can eat more of them!
I love sugar cookkies
My favorite holiday cookies are hazelnut chai Russian tea cookies. My mother brought me back some Nordic Norman’s kringla from Iowa which I’m LOVING this holiday season (and any other time of year) as well.
Chocolate crinkles or almond crescents! Either one, I just remember my mom always baking a ton of them around the holidays and the whole house smelling amazing!
Have been following on instagram for years! Love it!
My favorite cookies, simply for the annual tradition of making them with my mom and sisters (though this year with my sis-in-law since we moved), are pecan crescents and spritz cookies.Â

I’m a sucker for the old classic. . .sugar cookies in cute Christmas shapes. But chocolate crinkle cookies with a dusting of powdered sugar are hard to beat!
I JUST told my husband I need new baking sheets. These would be perfect.
Usually I’m more into Christmas candy than cookies, but some friends just gave us a basket of homemade cookies and they had the most amazing gingerbread cookies in there. Chewy, sea salt on top…delicious!

My favorite Christmas cookies are snowballs. Or maybe that’s just because those are the cookies I had today…
I love a classic sugar cookie with the crystal sugar crystals and buttercream frosting <3!!
I actually made my first yule log this past weekend (omg it came out so well) and the mushroom meringue cookies I made *may* be my new favorite holiday cookie!! Otherwise I’m a big fan of thumbprints. :)
Ginger doodles (soft chewy gingery molasse-y)!

I think my favorite, most associated with Christmas, cookies would be my mom’s cutouts & thumbprints. The cutouts are nice & simple with a slick of icing & some sugars on. Her thumbprints are rolled in walnuts & filled with icing or sometimes jelly. My husband would say her cutouts for sure. I wanna know what those chocolate ones are up there in the blog? They look delicious!
I love peanut butter blossoms, but with a mini peanut butter cup (dark chocolate ones from Trader Joe’s!) instead of a Kiss. I guess they’re not really Christmas-y, but I only make them at Christmas.
