Christmas Morning Mimosas.
Merry merry!
[you can find these champagne flutes here!]
Determined to get you in the holiday spirit, I’m serving you a cocktail so full of festive sparkle that you can’t resist.
I have a ridiculously, embarrassingly easy recipe for you today, but it brings me so much joy that I couldn’t NOT share it! If you’ve been following along with my 12 days of Christmas videos, you probably know that last year, I shot this recipe at the last minute and the photos were a mess. It wasn’t something that I could reshoot and I was just… DONE with 2015 at that point, so I figured that I’d wait a year and see if I still was into the drink.
Spoiler alert: I am! Woohoo.
Aren’t these just adorably fun and cute?
I don’t love mimosas with orange juice (unless it’s blood orange) and often prefer them with grapefruit juice over anything else. And while I never drink cranberry juice on its own, I love the mix of the juice with the champagne. It’s the perfect combo of tart and sweetness.
The rosemary is just a garnish, so don’t freak. Your drink won’t taste like rosemary.
The sugared cranberries are also really just a garnish and you drop them in right before serving. You can eat them if you want to be a rebel.
Do you have any Christmas morning traditions? Eddie and I are still working on our own, especially since Max is only two. But growing up, we’d wake up to a huuuuge hand written letter from Santa (the year that we got our first computer, Santa TYPED his letter which was so insane! omg!), my dad would read it, and inside the letter it would tell us which wrapping paper belonged to my brothers and me.
We’d open gifts and just hang out for the entire morning in front of the Christmas tree with Christmas music playing. It was the best.
This year, our morning will probably be similar here, but just with the three of us. Eddie has already been lighting the trees and turning on Christmas music every morning. I’m thinking of doing cinnamon rolls or something and then – mimosas for us!
It’s like a Christmas present for you wrapped up in a champagne flute. How fun!
Christmas Morning Mimosas
Ingredients
- 1 (750mL) bottle champagne
- 3/4 cup cranberry blood oramge or pomegranate juice (your preference!)
- rosemary springs for garnish
- sugared cranberries for garnish
sugared cranberries
- 4 ounces fresh cranberries
- 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup water
Instructions
- Add an ounce or so of juice to the bottom of a champagne flute. Fill it up with champagne, garnish with rosemary and sugared cranberries, and serve!
sugared cranberries
- Add 1 cup of the sugar and the water to a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk until the sugar dissolves and bring the mixture to a boil, cooking for 2 to 3 minutes. Set it aside until it is cool enough to touch. Once the syrup is cool, either dunk the cranberries in it or pour the liquid over top of them in a bowl. Place the remaining sugar on a plate. I find the cranberries stay the prettiest if you try to remove any syrup “globs” and roll them in sugar one at a time.

Hello! What brand of flutes are those? They’re amazing!
they are from crate and barrel! http://www.crateandbarrel.com/silhouette-champagne-glass/s233549
Um, Merry Christmas to me! These mimosas look amazing!
Such a sweet idea! I need to try these. Or I need to garnish my Christmas Breakfast Clementine 75’s (http://www.rachelphipps.com/2016/12/christmas-kitchen-christmas-breakfast.html) with rosemary!
How adorably crazy cute are those! Those flutes are seriously awesome. Where did you find them?
P.S he grammar nazi in me noticed a spelling error…you can have 10 extra mimosas if you can spot it!
Do you mean “on it’s own”?
Yep…it should be “on its own” but there’s also another one–this time, a spelling error!
the flutes are crate and barrel: http://www.crateandbarrel.com/silhouette-champagne-glass/s233549
Blood orange not oramge, right?
This is a great idea…why didn’t I ever think of mimosas on Christmas morning? I can do that now that I’m an adult! :)
I love this drink so much! x

I make this same thing but with Grand Marnier – I think it’s called a Pointsettia. To change things up instead of mimosa (not a fan either), I use pear or mango nectar…Goya makes great nectars. ok….now I’m thirsty.
Stacy, can you elaborate on the Grand Marnier? You just throw a splash in?
I wish I could hang out on Christmas morning just drinking mimosas! I’m also not a fan of just orange juice for mine. I love the cranberry juice idea as I also love grapefruit juice. Love the flutes. Where are they from?
hi! they are from crate and barrel! http://www.crateandbarrel.com/silhouette-champagne-glass/s233549
So pretty! I’m usually team grapefruit too. But who am I kidding, I’ll take a mimosa any way it is fixed!
I want some now!
I love the typed letter from Santa! How Fun! :)
These are lovely! My family always have mimosas Christmas morning but I’m not a huge fan of OJ. I was recently introduced to a guava mimosa and it was delicious so I’d love to try other flavors like cranberry or pomegranate.
The mimosas look and sound great! I actually tried to convince my boss it was OK to bring mimosa bar fixins to work today for the holiday potluck… She didn’t bite.
I’m OBSESSED with the mini disco balls though! Are they ornaments? Where are they from? Why don’t I own them?
Yum! I can’t wait to try these!
Mimosas seem like a Christmas tradition that I could get behind!

Oh my! Those are beautiful! Definitely trying them on Christmas morning :)
Ohh, so amazing kind of red champagne. Marry Xmass :)
I love any cookie at Christmas! But mostly chocolate chip. I follow you on Facebook, and I subscribe to your you tube channel. I can’t wait to try the mimosas!
Snowballs are my favorite with a cup of hot coffee ?
My favorite Christmas cookies for years now have been Fruitcake Cookies — no, not the icky kind. These have cherries, pineapple, pecans, and lots of cinnamon and they’re chewy and totally addictive. (Honestly, though, anything with pecans is at the top of my list.)
I follow you on Facebook, of course.
I subscribe to your YouTube page and I would LOVE these pans. I use my old worn-out ones (hint, hint) for so much more than cookies.
I must give my thanks to LUKE MEREDITH, who posted here last week comment about system he uses to earn online… I received my FIRST payment total of $540, pretty cool. I am so excited, this is the first time I actually earned something. I am going to work even harder new and I can’t wait for next week payment…..
You can try it for yourself.>>>>>>> http://www.Netooo20.anschiessen.de
Those look A-Mazing….. just like everything else you post :)
Forgot my fave cookie…… so many to choose from….. shortbread
Classic Sugar Cut-Out cookies!
I’ve subscribed.
I’m following.
This is a Christmas cocktail I can definitely get on board with! Those sugared cranberries are beautiful, and I bet they would be delicious on top of lots of holiday sweets.
Yummy these look amazing, what a great way to start out the day! xo Loren // http://www.thinkelysian.com

Made these – the sugared cranberries un-sugared when dropped in my drink, and then tasted like cranberries, which are QUITE tart. I preferred just to eat them alongside the drink so I could enjoy them. Other than that it was a beautiful little change-up from a regular mimosa.
These look so amazing! I’ve never tried anything except the classic mimosa – which def needs to change!

Can you sugar coat the cranberries in advance or do you have to coat them on the day-of?
