Tuesday Things.
1. Am I the only freak who loves when a new month STARTS on a Monday? I know that I’ve written this before, but it def makes me overly excited.
2. This autumn panzanella with pumpkin vinaigrette is insanely gorgeous.
3. How do feel about dates on blog posts? I love and want dates on all blog posts. It makes me crazy when there are no dates!
4. Dead over this this: ruin the holidays with these mac and cheese candy canes. HAHAHAHA. See also: ew?!
5. Even though I read constantly throughout the winter, spring and summer, my reading always falls off the deep end come fall. Why is this? There are still a few books left on my summer reading list that I want to cross off, but tell me what you’re reading now!
6. SO much TV this past week! I found the general consensus on This Is Us was that it was boring, but I kind of enjoyed it. I am insanely hooked on the future scenes with Randall and dying to see where that goes. I also watched A Million Little Things and actually liked it so much more than I thought I would. And of course I was sucked into the world of Grey’s Anatomy and liked that too.
7. Over the weekend I also watched the Jane Fonda special on HBO. Most definitely cried at that.
8. It’s decorative gourd season! That basically described my weekend. Perfect for the first week of October. Also, language.

YES to dates on blog posts. I get that bloggers may want posts to be evergreen, but dates provide so much necessary context — especially if you’re reading something not knowing it was written five years ago!
I seriously thought you meant dates like dates that you eat 😂😂😂
I was so confused. I like dates on the posts I read (and I don’t mind actual dates you can eat!)
My favorite pilot was New Amsterdam. I’m excited for fall tv but we didn’t finish our summer watch list and now it’s like “do we go do something or binge watch all the things?” Also- I’m still on the Grey’s bandwagon
Oh my gosh, I just finished reading “Winter Garden” by Kristin Hannah, and it was SO good! I’m not sure where I’ve been…I think this was published years ago. But, it was worth the wait! I loved it.
This still might be my favorite by her- even over The Nightingale. (close call) LOVED the Winter Garden
100% agree with you on dates, I know a lot of blogs aren’t putting them anymore for traffic reasons, but it drives me insane when they’re not there!
Definitely yes to dates on blog posts.
Also, I thought I was the only person who still watched Grey’s Glad to know there are others still into it! I also really liked A Million Little Things and was NOT expecting to.
Right now I’m reading “Every Man A King” by Chris Stirewalt. Great historical read.
Why do people not date things?! It drives me crazy. I date cards and letters and just about everything.
Yes to dates! I date notes I take.
Agreed on dates and 100000% agree that it is sooooo satisfying when the first of the month is on a Monday! It inspires me so much to make and meet goals!
Yes on future scenes with Randall! WHO IS IT?
Oh my gosh, it drives me crazy when there aren’t dates at the top of blog posts! Sometimes I end up scrolling down through the comments for a clue!
Wow! I read the gourd one to my husband while hiccupping out of control and laughing *!@#$%*!!
Undated blog posts are a thing? It should not be a thing. Just finished reading “A Place for Us”. It starts off slow, but was probably the best book I’ve read all year, but I CRIED.
Yes to dates on blog posts!! I so appreciate that you do that and I always notice and don’t like it when others don’t. So thank you.
I laughed a little too hard at the decorative gourds post. It pretty much describes me September through November. Es
I am with you on the blog post. I love seeing a date. I like it even more when a new month starts on a Sunday.Like thats how weeks are supposed to be. Why do they feel the need to ruin candy canes with a flavor like that?! GROSS. I just finished reading The Rule of One by Ashley & Leslie Saunders, I am a sucker for a dystopian novel YA or otherwise. This was quick read and can’t wait till the second book comes out next year. Also the pic, how excited do you get when you go out shopping and see your own book on store shelves? I would be giddy every time.
I’m with you on dates. I date everything. I always had my students date their papers, too! Watched A Little Million Things and liked it. I didn’t think I would. I just finished The Guernsey Literary Potato Peel Pie Society. I highly recommend it. I watched the movie last night on Netflix, and although there are a few changes, it was beautifully done. Also, I recommend The Dinner List based on the question, What five people would you invite to dinner (alive or deceased)? It is so creative!
1. YES to dates on blog posts. Otherwise, how the heck am I supposed to keep track of things?? Plus. it’s so nice to be able to look back and see a nice, orderly, DATED record of what you’ve accomplished. :-D
2. I threw up a little bit in my mouth when I clicked on the link for those mac and cheese candy canes. Just…NO.
3. I sadly can no longer watch THIS IS US. I love the show but the emotional roller coaster factor was wreaking havoc with my anxiety. I still want to know all about the characters, though, so I like to read recaps as much as possible, haha. I just can’t handle the heartache from ACTUALLY watching the show!
4. Recently finished reading THE IMMORTALISTS, which I know was on your summer reading list. It took me awhile to get into this one, but I ended up absolutely loving it! http://www.wellreadtart.com/2018/10/02/book-review-immortalists/
I see your Mac and Cheese candy canes and raise you one box of “Clamdy Canes”. Yes, they exist….and does the question “WTFWHYYY?” really need to be asked?
Educated by Tara Westover is AAAAAMAZING, page turner status achieved. I’m 2/3 of the way through and I cannot put it down. It is a memoir and to think some of her tales are true is absolutely mind blowing.
YES to dates on posts!!! Helps so much with context!!
1. yes to dates on blogs! I like being able to see if the content + context of the time frame still work for what I’m referencing if it’s not a blog’s most recent.
2. This Is Us bored me to tears. sigh. I will give the next couple a shot and if it doesn’t pick up I will likely ditch it. A Million Little Things wasn’t a win for me either- it felt heavy handed trying to ‘say something important about friendship’
3. the mac & cheese? just.. no.
4. Just finished Tell Me More by Kelly Corrigan I read a lot of mystery/suspense/thriller, but every once in a while I like to switch it up and this memoir of essays was Fantastic! Funny. touching. .. you know. the ultimate in ‘you’ll laugh. you’ll cry’
5. It’s decorative gourd season, mother-xxxxxx I DIE. I laughed so hard!
Dates are a must on blogs. Why have a blog if you can’t chronologically keep things in order. it would messy and weird and messy. No. Dates must live!
MR’er on the gourd season! OMG!!!
I am reading “The Book of Essie” and I’m trying to finish it today!
Funny story about dates…..I’m at ACM Awards Sony party in Nashville, all fancy, had a few drinks, and this guy says I don’t like dates. I’m like oh they aren’t so bad, I’m actually on one right now, and I’m having a good time, he just laughs, and he says oh really, thats not the kind of date I meant, so then I’m like huh? you mean like calendar dates, I don’t get it, what’s not to like? and then he just stares at me like an idiot, and at that moment the waitress walks by with a plate of dates…..Be more specific about what freakin date your talking about, and I won’t look like a really dumb blonde!!!!! hahahaha
Yes to the dates!!! I hate when I don’t know if someone is posting a new entry or not!
I haven’t watched Grey’s in years but feel like since Luke from the OC is on it now that I need to?! Also, apparently Marissa is going to be on the hills?! What?
I’m with you on all points on 5 and 6. And for me 6 answers the question on 5!😜 Too much new tv to read!

I prefer dates on a blog post because it’s good to know when something was posted months ago as opposed to now especially if the author is asking a question. I don’t want to give month old feedback that would no longer be relevant :P. I understand if it’s just a recipe then a date wouldn’t matter as much, but with a blog post the author usually is sharing stories, and I like to know when those stories are taking place.
