November Favorites: Beauty.
It’s most wonderful time of the year!
There are so many amazing makeup and skincare things out right now that I’m going CRAZY! So much stuff to love.
I feel like this past month was kind of boring for me though in terms of makeup things. I’ve been super into skincare but was so busy with some work stuff that I didn’t do anything fun makeup-wise for at least a week. I love that we’re getting into December and it’s time for fun holiday looks! And let’s be real: GLITTER.
If you’re looking for gift ideas (for someone else or, um, yourself!!), I did do a beauty gift guide of some favorites that I’ve been loving in all of 2018. I’m also considering doing a makeup basics post with some of my favorite basic things? Let me know if I should!
On to this month…
Charlotte Tilbury Exaggereyes. I’m having a huge CT moment and am LOVING this. I tend to stay away from smaller palettes because it’s inevitable that one or two shadows won’t work on my eyes. But I just love all four of these shades. They are so pretty and work together so well. Great formula too!
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Amethyst. I’ve been using this shade for a year now. Sometimes I use it as eyeliner, sometimes as a shadow under my lash line, sometimes as an all over color. I adore it. I’ve used these in the past but this is the best. I got it for Christmas last year – I have this set and it lasts forever!
Too Faced Born This Way Concealer. I am SO excited about this. I’ve been using Tarte Shape Tape for a long time now but I heard that this was close (if not better). I love it even more. It’s not as thick but still has some coverage. And I feel like it’s better for dry skin?
Weleda Skin Food. Again, this is saving my hands! My hands have never been so dry – between millions of piles of dishes for recipe testing (and regular life!), cleaning, diaper changes, etc – my hands are so dry. One use of this and they are like new. This is a MUST for me. It’s pricey but you only need the tiniest bit.
Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit. It’s TIME!! I bring this out every year come November and I’m so in love with it. The scent is warm and slightly sweet but not sickeningly sweet at all. A little spiced too! It’s super. This is randomly limited edition and always comes in and out of stock, so you have to check for it!
Laura Mercier Velour Matte Lipstick in Ruthless. I love crayons like this for lips – this is matte but not super drying. It’s such a pretty color too!
I’m dying to know what is on your holiday wish list or even what you have your eye on for January! xo
[as usual, none of this is sponsored and all of these products were purchased by me. i am not affiliated with any of the companies above, nor do i accept free products. just love to talk about what i like, makeup junkie to makeup junkie. there are some amazon and general reward style affiliate links above. thank you for being here!]

I think my husband got me a Clarisonic Mia Smart Sonic and I’m stoked. Have you ever used one? Been wanting one for YEARS. And yes, Weleda is a life saver. A small trick I learned and have been doing is put a little on your cheak as a highlighter – works wonders. I have also been loving GlamGlow Charcoal treatment mudmask. My fav!!
I have been using that Weleda skin food for the past few months as an eye cream. It’s too heavy for my entire face but makes an amazing eye cream. Is there much (if any) fall out from the shimmer shades in the CT eyeshadow?

Do you follow Katie Jane Hughes on Instagram? She is a makeup artist and raves about Weleda Skin food all the time. I bought it on her recommendation. It makes an awesome overnight moisture mask when my skin is parched. I do use it for my hands at night as well, but mostly love it for dry patches on my face.
I haven’t but the bullet yet in Charlotte Tilbury products because they’re so expensive but they’re all so beautiful! Maybe I’ll splurge this Christmas :)
If you like crayons you should try Nudestix! Their stuff is really great- good for dry skin especially because it’s made with hydrating ingredients. I use Kate Sommerville a lot but I want to try Sunday Riley; that’s what’s on my Christmas list this year! We’ll see though. With my husband in grad school and not working at the moment that might be a little above our budget right now.
LOVE Skin Food. I have multiple sizes. And you can get it at Whole Foods now!

I just got Tarte Double Duty eyebrow gel and it is amazing! I have never used any brow anything and let’s face it, it was past time. But I was afraid of brow pencils. My mom draws hers on and it looks like crayon. This thing has the teeniest brush and it is really easy and I don’t look like a clown. Sorry Mom!

I sprung for the CT palette because it looks amazing and I know I’ll use those colors all the time. I also bought the Skin Food on your recommendation. It’s already making such a difference. I have really dry hands in the winter and am always looking for new products to put in my regular rotation. Thank you!
I would love a makeup basics post!
