A Week in the Life, Vol 2.
It was a loooong week, you guys!
First week back to the grind in a LONG time, and nothing as exciting as last week happened! Just normal everyday life.
I decorate for Christmas like a lunatic, which I love, until it has to all to come. So I took the ornaments off all the trees first, and left the trees up for a few days so I could properly mourn the twinkly lights.
I love it when she sits like this.
Oh! As I was taking the tree down, I found approximately seven nerf darts in the BACK OF THE TREE? How?
And I’m pretty sure you feel like you’re an adult when you have to smash a Christmas tree back into its original box. Again, how?
Apparently I mangled my kitchen tree when I removed those ornaments, so it looks like it’s about to topple over. But I still enjoyed it while I shot some recipes!
Sometimes winter sunsets beat summer ones.
My semi-embarrassing comfort food is a pack of quaker instant oatmeal. YEP. If you’ve been reading awhile then you know this because I have mentioned it 76 billion times.
Hockey started back up for Max! I swear he was excited.
And I made my brussels caesar one day last week. OMG it’s so good.
I also made a pot of chili on a whim and it was so good too!
We went to visit my grandpa before he goes back to Florida.
Max got this pizza at Nordstrom cafe and it looked so much more appetizing than my (still delicious) tomato basil soup.
I can’t. He’s such a little human.
It was nearly 75 degrees on Saturday. I liked it but also hated it. Because it’s such a tease, and will probably be in the 20s for the next three months.
Max had a party to go to this weekend and he was so excited because…
It was at chuck e cheese. He had never been there. Don’t worry, I took a gallon of hand sanitizer.
This is what I did Friday night! My life is so cool.
The new Sundays with love ride with Ally might be my favorite thing ever.
And we ended the weekend with mexican food!
It was a good, regular week and I spent a ton of time reading too – currently finishing such a fun age.
xo

Yes!! I love it when you post behind-the-scene shots of your food photo shoots, haha. It helps me figure out how the heck to arrange my shots so they can look their best. It also makes me feel like, thankfully, I’m not the only weirdo meticulously arranging food on huge slabs of tile, then dangling over them awkwardly, trying to get the perfect shot. :-)
Also, I now want Mexican food on Sunday night. Even though it’s now Monday morning. It sounds like the perfect way to end the weekend. :-D
By “little human” I’m guessing you mean “little Eddie”. Good gravy they look alike!
That rainbow dress is the cutest!! I too am sad about taking down all the sparkle lights. Nordstrom cafe for the win! Their food is just so good, I always have a hard time choosing what to eat.
You seriously have THE MOST photogenic family! While we don’t have any small children, our weeks tend to end up being much like yours. You’re like the Energizer Bunny – just keep going and going.
brussels caesar…i am so intrigued !!!!
I love these kinds of posts!! I’ve been hooked on Jess’s Trap rides and sweat steady, but I’ll have to try Ally’s sunday ones. Also, can we clone Emilia? pls and thank you. :D
Love your kids facial expressions, they are so adorable. I agree I think winter sunsets/sunrises are better. Love chili, just made it the other night, I think we have it every couple/few weeks in our house during the fall/winter months. Oh and I want all the outfits that Emilia wears but for adults, they are amazing.
The nerf darts in the tree! OMG. My husband lost some of his darts and when I took the tree down, I found 2 of them in there. This was after I had already pulled one out. Not sure how I missed the other two! I am glad I am not alone.
I feel like Emilia grew up this week. She’s not a baby anymore!! Cue all the tears.
That picture of Max and Emilia with your grandpa is freaking me out because Max looks SO TALL!!! Like a little adult? When the heck did he grow up so much?! I still remember when he was tiny and dressed as a little troll doll for Halloween (one of my fave pics ever)!
I made chili this week, too! But when I went to brown my meat I realized I forgot to buy tomatoes AND beans! I was more focused on the toppings (fail). Luckily I texted my neighbor who had both on hand and saved the day. Also, love this series!
Look at that cute hockey uniform! Not a Pens fan (go Avs) but anything in that size is adorable! I love that the shorts go down most of his legs :)
I’m loving these posts! I love seeing a peek inside the more mundane moments of other people’s lives…like laundry.
thanks love!
