A Week in the Life, Vol 3.
January is just chugging right along.
My mom watches Max on Mondays after school, and when Emilia and I go to pick him up, they ALWAYS have ice cream. Always. Even if it’s freezing.
But aren’t the winter sunsets so amazing even if you see them out of a filthy car window?
I made my blood orange coffee cake and put it in my instagram highlights! That cake is unreal.
Post-nap hair perfection.
Max was so excited to get a black jersey at hockey practice.
And I tested a really delish squash recipe at 9am.
My go-to order right now is iced blonde vanilla latte. Always iced!
The stories Emilia tells while waiting in the pick up line for Max… are priceless. And she sits there and calls his name MAX until he comes out.
Friday they got a donut!
And then Max convinced me to make slime. I always regret this idea.
But he did ask me if he could do the dishes!
And then he later stole my phone and I’m now the proud owned of 200 photos on my camera roll, like this one above.
This coming week, I have a cookbook shoot! This is just the tip of the iceberg for a cookbook shoot. We are doing 30 recipes starting now through Wednesday.

In the meantime, Emilia was quite distraught she can’t go out on the court with him. Coloring to the rescue.
Saturday was such a miserable weather day – snow, sleet and then pouring rain. So we got PIZZA.
First thing Sunday morning I prepped a dish of garlic confit for the week! Aka, liquid gold.
UNREAL.
Lacy and I prepped a ton of food for the cookbook shoot. And I set out some of my favorite dishes for photos. Believe it or not, photographing a cookbook is SO much easier than blog recipes. It really only requires one finished shot. But I have to LOVE it. Obviously. I’ve been known to start from scratch after photographing half the book…
I really wish we would get SNOWED IN and not just this laughable dusting.

That’s all we got.
And just like last week we finished the week with some mexican food. Eeeep.

I lol at the Star Wars pictures on your cell! Yup, over here too and on my iPad! My boys are the same exact ages as your little ones so I love to see updates on your kids! I’m usually nodding my head, yes to grandma always feeding them ice cream! Haha That pizza shot has me drooling, we’re originally from Chicago and now live in SC, good pizza is so hard to find! Yes you’re right these are the magical times. 🙂

Love these posts, Jess! It’s so fun getting a peek into your day to day life as an internet BFF :) On the east side of the state, we didn’t get much either and were just as disappointed it turned to rain and icy mush. Where’s the SNOW?! Much respect for the pepperoni and extra cheese pizza order – we got the same for the football games yesterday.

I love these so much, in a non stalker way! But kind of SUV do you have?! I got an Explorer this year and fell meh about it. Yours looks like tons of room! And yes, please to the garlic confit!!!
