My Winter 2020 Reading List!
Welcome to my winter reading list!
It’s only the second day of the year and I’m ready to blow through this list. While I get most excited about summer book launches, there are so many here that I’m looking forward to reading. I also made a, well… list… of all my reading lists right here in under my crumbs section. So you can always find something to read!
I’d love to hear what you’re reading below. And now I just have to figure out which book comes next.
My 2020 Winter Reading List
Regretting You. Reading this now and really liking it!
The Two Lives of Lydia Bird. I loved One Day in December so I’m super excited about this.
The Last Book Party. Set in the publishing world in the 80s. Everything I want to read!
The Gifted School. This came out last summer and I keep adding it to lists then not getting it. Making it happen next!
Writers & Lovers. This one is set in the 90s – maybe there’s a theme her! Sounds so good.
Conviction. This sounds SO interesting. I hope it’s good!
A Good Neighborhood. Ahh this one sounds incredible too. Growing up our neighbors were like family!
Such a Fun Age. I have a feeling I won’t be able to put this one down.
Topics of Conversation. This is on every list I’ve seen. It’s written as conversations with women and sounds amazing.
In Five Years. This kind of sounds like One Day in December in a way. Can’t even wait for this on.
Modern Love. I loved the show so much so I’m excited to read this.
The Honey Don’t List. I love most things by this (these) author(s)!
The Authenticity Project. What perfect timing for a book like this.
Recipe for a Perfect Wife. This sounds amazing!
American Dirt. This story sounds so complex and gripping.
Just let me curl up by the fire with a good book! And maybe a hot buttered bourbon? xo

I always love your book lists! I LOVED the gifted school (but my friends were split 50/50 on it – just take it as a satire, not real life), and couldn’t stand Conviction – not well-written. I LOVED Lost and Wanted.
I really enjoyed The Gifted School. I look forward to your reading list!
I just added A Good Neighborhood to my list!
I am trying to get myself to do audiobooks, so I listened to Conviction instead of reading it. I can’t tell if that’s why… but I didn’t love it. The storyline wasn’t confusing necessarily, but often there where characters or things going on that just didn’t seem to matter. Not my favorite!
i love audiobooks because i can listen while i’m cooking, but i have found that sometimes i just don’t connect with a book when i listen through audio if that makes sense!
Thank you! I also loved one Day in December. Added a lot of these to my library holds list!
I just finished the Last Book Party on New Year’s Eve and I was underwhelmed. I am looking forward to reading all of the rest of them on this list!
If you haven’t read EVVIE DRAKE STARTS OVER by Linda Holmes, you really must. It may be my favorite read of the 2010s.
I really liked Conviction. I’m reading The Alice Network now and LOVE it! Such a Fun Age is up next for me.

Love seeing others’ reading lists! They give me some great ideas for my own!! Happy 2020 Jessica!
thanks amanda! you too!
These all sound amazing! Now, to find the time…
I’m just stopping to say I am in awe of you and the amount of things you accomplish in a day. Raising two kids, running a business, then finding time for exercise, keeping up with TV, and reading a stack of books?! 🙌 Do you sleep? 😂 #womenruntheworld
you’re so kind pamela!! thank you!
I love to read, but I have such a hard time finding the time (I know… cliché.) I have a toddler, also, and wondered how you fit in time to read between work, kids, etc.? I miss getting lost in a good book.
i totally know what you mean – i read a lot less than i used to.
first, i am terrible about sleep. i would rather stay up and read if i can, and if i get lost in a book then sometimes i’m up half the night reading!
but mostly, last year i decided to look at the “free” time i had and what i was doing with it. i went with that and tried to fit reading in there more. sometimes it’s less (like right now i’m binging The Americans so i watch some TV at night!) and sometimes it’s more (like summer when a lot of my fave authors release books!)
Thanks so much – always looking for inspiration and you have delivered!
you’re so welcome janet!
Have you read “The Water Dancer” by Ta-Nehisi Coates? I strongly recommend it. I love seeing your book lists probably more than the recipes. I read 155 books last year. I don’t think I made 155 meals.
i haven’t linda!! thanks so much for the recommendation. so glad you like the lists! :)
This is a great bunch of books – I added a ton of these to my goodreads list! :)
Ok so I have a ton of these in my Amazon shopping cart right now.
I read Recipe for a Perfect Wife in 2 days and it was amazing, thanks for the recommendation! I just loved Karma Brown’s writing style so I looked for other books by her, and decided to read her debut novel – Come Away With Me. And WOW, what an incredibly well written story. Have you read it yet? I feel like you’d really enjoy it. It’ll make you feel ALL the feels! I am going to gobble up all her other books I think.
