A Week In The Life, Vol 12.
Quarantine edition!
We’re pretty much going on two weeks+ of quarantine over here, so our weeks are a leeeeettle boring. This sunshine face makes it better!
Everyday at 4pm, the pillows come off the couch.
Oh and we have a nugget couch that the kids can build forts with, buuuuut…. they’d rather do this.
The leprechaun never brings anything for us, but this year he must have caved and brought some chocolate coins! Pretty sure they were leftover from St Nick’s visit in December.
So we got festive.
Max did no less than 31 art projects this week. He continually yells at me to not throw them away so the state of our house is GREAT.
We started a puzzle! Didn’t get very far because I feel guilty working on it instead of my book!
I made these beef bowls for dinner one night.
It was nice outside a few days last week, so we’re using up all the chalk from last year.
I have a feeling this summer will be even more fun than last year, now that Emilia can actually participate in stuff like this.
I’m begrudgingly making my own iced coffee. I mean, I like it, but there’s just something about getting out to grab an iced coffee that gives me life.
We took lots of walks for everyone’s sanity!
And we made homemade playdough! I let Max do most of it by himself.
One of the suggestions from his teacher last week was to find spring colors, so we made the playdough into pastel shades.
LOTS of legos. That I’ve stepped on 56 million times.
I slow roasted tomatoes at the end of last week when they were on their last leg. Then I made my favorite farro salad.
This bought me an hour of peace, until Emilia thought it would be funny to pour the water outside of the tub.
Once Eddie was home, I quarantined myself even more to our room to finish my book! As an extrovert, this whole situation is haaarrrrd.
Saturday we made brownies.
And pizza too!
Roasted red pepper and pepperoni for the kids + Eddie.
Caramelized onion, brussels and truffled mushroom for me, Eddie + Emilia who ended up eating two pieces of this one!
Flakey top brownies are the best. These are from a box. It was in my pantry!
I made a few chicken pot pies and took them to family.
I used my butternut pot pie recipe but just did the classic chicken, carrots, potatoes, onions, celery. Celery, I KNOW.
We wore all our halloween costumes! That was Max’s idea and so fun.
I snapped this shot from Eddie’s meal prep.
Emilia’s outfits are my favorite part of every day. The things she comes up with – it’s everything!
Hope you’re staying healthy and sane!

Do you like your radio flyer tricycle? I have 2 year old twins and am thinking of getting these!!
the shoes on the wrong – killing me….i did it the other day. i feel you sistah!
As an extrovert, I thought this whole quarantine/social distancing thang would be AWFUL. Overall, I’m on day 8, and i haven’t been struggling near as much as I thought I would. But the one thing that gets me EVERY day is not being able to go out and grab a coffee! I know there’s WAY worse things in life, but it’s just that daily ritual that I miss! We can do this! Better together(but alone together!)!
I’m also begrudgingly making my own coffee. Today was the first day I decided to not go out and get some because of all of this shit going down. It’s really hard for me as that’s my fav thing to do for “self care”!
I’ve never made pot pie and I really want to try it with chicken! But I’m a chicken to adapt your other recipe without a bit more guidance LOL :) Would you still use the sage, nutmeg, and parm? And I’m assuming cooked, shredded chicken? Thank you!

*Ahem*
I’m a major INTROVERT. . . and this situation is hard! I love you are taking meals to family. Some neighbors gave us a gallon of milk last week, and we made cookies last night to bring over to them today!
Can’t wait for the next book!
