Tuesday Things.
1. If you haven’t put a potato chip on your sandwich yet this summer, what are you waiting for?
2. Oh my gosh. The caesar snacker cocktail. I can’t handle it!
3. All I want to make for the rest of the summer is rainbow food. Like naturally-colored rainbow food. Let’s call it the unicorn diet.
4. Current TV watching? So, I started watching the new season of Orange is the New Black. Ummm… I’m three episodes in and feel like basically nothing has happened? It’s really boring me this year. And slow this time around. Is it just me? I don’t even want to watch another episode! What’s up with that.
5. AH. The forever question. Big or Aiden? My younger, cooler 20-something self would have said Big, because I was all about the unforbidden love and the chase and the drama. But now I’d probably say Aiden. Because I know what it means.
6. Seriously lusting over the world’s coolest offices.
7. I have a ton (like a TON) of lemon balm. What should I do with it?!
8. The only reason to look back. Love.
9. What ways are you making summer count?! I’m making a list of exactly what I’d like our summer days to look like and I’m going to try to make as much as I can happen. For starters, I want to eat dinner outside every night if we can. Lofty, wild goals here.

Chips on a sammich – only way to roll!
Is there any other way to eat a sandwich?
Lemon balm tea!!! My mom makes it all summer. She steeps the leaves in the simple syrup and then adds lemons and cinnamon sticks. Â Definitely a go to summer drink.Â
i love natural rainbows! the florescent stuff makes me cringe a bit, but anything like your popsicles yesterday (those colors!! ?) are amazing.
Don’t give up on OITNB! I was totally bored too but it really picks up about halfway through. The last few episodes are great, it definitely gets you pumped for next season!
100% agree on OITNB. Â Stick with it, the last three episodes are WOAH!!
ditto on above 2 comments – some of this season’s episodes may be their best ever in terms of social commentary and emotional payout
Aiden all the way! For sure. Every time.Â
Chips on sandwiches for the WINNNNN!!!!
Speaking of TV, have you ever seen Sports Night? I think I remember you talking about loving Parenthood (OBSESSED!) and this has Lauren Graham’s real life boyfriend (who was her brother on Parenthood) and a bunch of other actors/actresses before they were really famous. Â It’s a little bit sports but mostly witty banter and real life issues. Something to check out if you need something to binge watch! :) I made my summer bucket list yesterday. . . feeling like the rainbow / unicorn diet is DEFINITELY going to need to make an appearance!Â
You should make a sauce with your lemon balm and put it on top of shrimp! I made a recipe using it earlier this spring http://themexitalian.com/salt-plate-shrimp/
I follow the #nobummersummer every year and make it my goal to check off as many as I can, but I’m a checklist nerd like that!

Muddle that lemon balm, smash some blueberries and make cocktails!
I’m teaching cooking/healthy eating a local camp this summer, and literally just added rainbow fruit kabobs to the menu! I’m also going to do a smoothie bar one week. Sooo hopefully these kids like fruit!
I loved Aiden but I thought he was too “Greenwich Village” Bohemian for Carrie. Big seemed more “Park Avenue / Upper East Side” Classy, and I think that’s what Carrie needed. (As for the references, you need to know New York….)
KEEP WATCHING. Stuff gets really really real.
Happy to see that OITNB picks up, because I’m agreeing for now… and I feel like Piper is so “dumb” this season!! :(
I was always on the fence with Big and Aiden. Maybe a mixture of the two would work best for Carrie? Â Big had his moments, but yeah… Aiden!Â
What sandals are you wearing in the above photo?
ummm….I have probably 10’ish-100’ish peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with homemade strawberry jelly WITH chips. but who’s counting.
I get to leave for Maine on Friday (live in CT) to ring in my 50th birthday with friends and family. Can’t wait. Maine is summer to me.
Aiden. Hands down. Always! Lemon Balm is great in iced tea or Lemon Pound Cake!
You can make natural, homemade bug spray with lemon balm! Crush the leaves and steep them in witch hazel for a few weeks and put it in a spray bottle :) You can also rub the leaves straight on your skin if you’re outside by it in the garden
OITNB made me cry toward the end, and I’m a cold-hearted old lady. Don’t deny yourself the pleasure.
I dry my lemon balm and use it in my chicken soup and dishes of that nature throughout the winter. The hint of lemon is a great addition and I always get compliments on the flavor.Â
I have a TON of oregano. Any thoughts??
I can’t even watch OITNB after trying Wentworth. It’s an Australian prison show, 1000% times better than OITNB, and it’s just really friggin great. It’s on Netflix; I recommend a binge session :)Â
So I am an avid reader of your blog for the last probably 5 years but…I have been on maternity leave and in baby mode for the last 10 weeks so I could of missed something. If you have watched it then I am behind but I highly highly recommend watching Grace and Frankie on Netflix. It is the best!
