Tuesday Things.
1. My current favorite snack: toast, almond or cashew butter, sliced peaches, hemp hearts. Try it! So filling and wonderful.
2. Yes yes yes look at these double chocolate toasted marshmallow cookies.
3. Friends in DC! I’ll be at an event with Maria for her book signing on Thursday Sept 5 to kickoff her cookbook tour! We’re having a big party at Room & Board and you should def come hang out.
4. Okay guys. I might be the only one who is over packing cubes. For awhile, I loved them. But recently, I’ve felt like using packing cubes makes me lose space in my suitcase and that I can actually stuff more stuff in the suitcase WITHOUT the cases! I know the idea of them is to simplify packing but… that will never be me.
5. Speaking of, why doesn’t anyone tell you that when you go on vacation with babies/toddlers, it’s so.much.work. I mean, yes, my mom mentioned it the first year I had Max, but no one tells you that BEFORE you have kids. We had such an amazing time, but it was more exhausting than ever! Eddie and I both averaged 25K steps a day, and it’s not like we did long day trips or anything – it’s still a very chill, relaxing vacay. Just constant running to chase the babes.
6. How to trick yourself out of a bad habit.
7. TV THINGS! Okay who watched the ending of Euphoria?! It was my least favorite episode, Jules basically broke my heart and I had to read multiple articles to figure out just what happened. I love the show though. This past week’s Yellowstone episode was so good. My inner 90s kid is still in love with Kevin Costner and isn’t Rip just the best?!
8. This is so interesting to me! Why we embrace lowercase in texting.
9. Inquiring minds want to know: do you officially start your day on Sunday or Monday?

In order to make pizza, I boil all the tomatoes and make a mixture by mashing and then put it on the layer, am I Doing it right?
Can’t wait to hangout in DC!! xo
YAY
#1 = major yes
#7 = I blame you for getting me to actually start watching that show, and I got hooked. However, I felt like I was the one on drugs, trying to understand the song & dance number at the end of the season finale. I have soooo many questions (email me! Hahaha)… but I’m psyched that Season 2 is definitely happening.
it’s so crazy, i know!
Monday forever. Sunday is the end of my week. I even prefer calendars that have Monday as the first day!
SAME!
I’m with you on the packing cubes. I haven’t given up on them yet, but you’re right that my suitcase seems fuller when I use them and I think you’re The First Person on the Internet to say so.
i used to LOVE them. i don’t know what it is now?! maybe with having kids, the need to take more clothes for them, the size of their clothes, etc? i don’t know!
Anytime I see commercials for Yellowstone I always think it looks like such a good show. Will have to start watching. Oh and please tell me you will be watching the 90210 reboot. If there is ever a show that is SO 90’s it is this show, even though my tween self had no business watching it. My week starts on Monday. Sunday is still the weekend.
definitely going to watch it!!
#5 — Oh, man. I don’t have kids, but my best friend has three (twin girls and a boy) under the age of 5. I’ve spent a lot of time with them, but never more than, say, 3-4 hours at a time. We went down the shore with them this past weekend, and there were 8 fully capable adults in the beach house — and we could still barely keep up with the three kiddos. IT WAS INSANE. I know kids are a lot of work (which is why I don’t have them! lol), but OMG…I had no idea the energy they exude and the constant attention they need, at least at those ages. Like you, we didn’t do much — just a few things around town, plus the beach — but I still got around 18,000 steps in (I’m sure the Mom got in more), and I pretty much collapsed at 9:30pm from sheer exhaustion. I’ve definitely been schooled, lol.
yes!! so so true – the kids are obviously active all the time but i think on vacation since they are in a new place, out of their routine, etc, they are even more wild. :)
The “all lowercase trend” is giving me anxiety! Mostly because people actually think it matters and the fact that the “lowercase trend” is a movement? A status quo? IDK!
hahaha I KNOW!!!
OMG I have such a crush on Rip! Haven’t seen this week’s episode yet, but maybe tonight. . .
Literally just took packing cubes off our wedding registry because I couldn’t really get how it was better. Thank you I needed that double confirmation.
Yes, I’ve had packing cubes in my Amazon cart for months but just couldn’t quite get there. Deleted now.
I may by in the minority of really not liking Euphoria. I found it super disturbing. I don’t want my young nieces to become teens. Well, of course I want them to be Teens but not slutty, promiscuous drug using teens. Maybe at age 52 I’m becoming too uptight but I was so upset. My husband likes it so I kept watching. And I agree the last episode was not very good at all.
I’m not in DC that week I’m traveling or I would have come.
Have fun!!
