I just turned this:
Into this:
I can definitely do my veggies this way. At least there aren’t any beets this time! And this was my first time using strawberries. I might be obsessed.
I feel so good I am going to go clean the bathrooms!
Or lay on the couch.

I’m Jessica and this is where I share my stuff. You will find a balance of healthy recipes, comfort food and indulgent desserts.
YUM ! looks deliciously fresh…

I love juicing!! In the summer, especially… It just makes you feel so clean and amazing inside.

God, I love beets. Roasted with a little green onion and topped with feta? Winning.
I just bought a juicer today, and made a concoction of 2 bananas, 3 oranges, 1 whole head of romaine lettuce and a cup of carrot juice. I am also not a fan of veggies, I was soooo glad I couldn’t taste the lettuce!

How were the bananas?? I’ve been wondering about juicing bananas for over year, but never have done it!

Oh, perfect! Mine were a little under ripe, so I didn’t taste them. I suppose if they are super ripe you can taste them. I’ve always put them in smoothies, even when I had a blender that hardly worked. Good Potassium!
I’m sure it tastes good and all but it really looks yucky. (sorry!)

I know. But I promise it tastes good! If I think it tastes good, it HAS to taste good!

I still couldn’t drink it…I don’t do green…ever! Could you make me one with only fruit and no veggies please?
Brooke — March 27th, 2011 @ 3:26 pm
I’ll promise you that if you start out with only a small handful of spinach–wean your way up–that you won’t taste it! Add enough berries, and you won’t see it, either! :D
Burst out laughing at the couch line. Looks yummy to me. ~Jessica

Excuse me, I need to go make a huge canister of juice right now because this totally inspired me. I might now come back though, because my bathroom needs cleaning as well……

Could you come clean my juicer for me? I never juice b/c it takes me FOREVER to clean it. It’s like the pulp is just buried and buried in the filter and it just takes forever to fully come out. I know, so lame and more than you need to know, but just thought i’d share :)
LOVE The colors of your juice. So pretty!

That juice looks great! On another note, I’m making a homemade pizza tonight using your recipe for pizza dough! I cannot wait! I think I’m going to brush the crust with some olive oil, garlic, parm. cheese, and S&P! :)

What a great way to get in veggies. Now I need a juicer!

I’m a smoothie girl more than a juicin’ queen. I’ve tried it but it’s hard to get a great combo when juicing, however I’ve never tried strawberries. They might possibly make all the difference.

So you drank that?

Jessica — March 26th, 2011 @ 8:40 pm
Yes! I love juice as long as there is fruit in it. You can’t taste the vegetables at all.

What kind of juicer do you use? I’ve been thinking about getting one forever but they’re kind of pricey…I even put one on our bridal registry but those jerks just bought us plates and linens.. :) I’m thinking I might just need to suck it up and pay for quality.

I have a Waring Pro. I ended up getting it with returns/leftover giftcards we had from our wedding! I wanted Breville but they didn’t have it. I LOVE this one.

My DH makes his green smoothies all the time…he puts in avocado, banana, an apple, spinach and whatever else strikes his fancy (often cabbage). He swears by them….it’s just too green for me!

For St. Pat’s I did banana, milk + spinach (which made it green), but then I added vanilla and peppermint extract enough so that I could pretend there was no vegetable in there! :D All “mint”, right?

I love the colors! This juice looks GREAT! I love strawberries and cucumbers in my smoothies:)

Jessica, I rarely comment, but just felt like de-lurking today to let you know I love your posts! I read them via email almost daily, and you always put a smile on my face with your wit.
I had my “green” smoothie this morning and felt energized, like I was ready to get packing for our move, and then I went at sat at my computer :)

I know people called it “yucky” looking, but I thought it looks absolutely beautiful. I need to get a juicer!!!!

I have been a juicing machine lately! I hate when my juice comes out the color of mirk, though, heh! It usually does – but it tastes so good! Thanks for the idea to add strawberries. I have a whole pint of them waiting to be juiced!

I love how vibrant your juice is!!!! :)
Enjoy your day, whatever you choose to do! ;)

This looks so refreshing, but I just have one question – Do you have any suggestions for fruits that could replace the strawberries/apples? I developed these bad fruit allergies in the last few years, and those are on the list, unfortunately. So are pears, stone fruits, and cherries.

So juicy juice! Love it!
Reply
It is amazing how with the right combo of fruit you can’t tast the spinach!
Reply
Can you give me the amounts of each you used ? It looks like 2 apples, half a lemon, 3 cucumbers, Strawberrys ? Green something (basil) ?

Jessica — March 30th, 2011 @ 8:06 pm
I used 2 apples, about 6 cups of raw spinach, 3 of those little cucumbers, 6 strawberries, and half a lemon.

Thank you, proceeding to the jucier now.
