Tuesday Things.
1. These cupcakes? They are a VERY new and improved version (I only had to make them EIGHT TIMES to get it right) of my homemade funfetti ones and I took them to my grandpa’s 85th birthday party. That, along with a bottle of gin. I better be this easy to please in 50 years. Also: sprinkles for life.
2. I can hardly wait for this weekend. It’s going to be a mexican feast! I might add these dessert nachos!!!! to the list. I mean… if you know me… you might know that I sort of like fruit salsa… Forgive the overzealous exclamation points.
3. Last week I went to run some errands that would cause me to be gone from the house for about 2+ hours and halfway there, realized that I forgot my phone. My lifeline. My everything. I want to say it was freeing and fabulous, but really it just caused me extreme anxiety and I definitely reached for my phone no less than 15 times during my outing. I often wonder how my mom used to go the entire day without talking to my dad before cell phones existed. How was that ever a thing? Oh and eventually my dad got a large CAR PHONE. Let’s discuss.
4. In relation to above, these 27 middle class problems had me giggling.
5. My fellow TV-aholics might also enjoy the 27 stages of getting addicted to a show. There is, like, basically nothing on TV right now and I CAN’T STAND IT. And no, I don’t understand Mad Men. Besides that you are allowed to have cocktails at work (let’s do this) and all the hot men cheat on their wives. And is January Jones just wearing a fat suit now? Whatev.
6. Oh and speaking of TV, I know it’s making the rounds but if you are as obsessed with Nashville as I am (not sure if that’s possible), then you will probably adore the actual youtube channel of the daughters on the show. Who are sisters. And cute as pie. I can’t take it. I wish I could be a famous singer. Like, just wake up and be one.
7. A little over a year ago, our garbage disposal broke. This may or may not have been directly correlated with my husband throwing ENTIRE LEMONS AND BANANA PEELS down it. For someone who works with food constantly, this is a pretty huge thing, so in replacing it, we had the cadillac of garbage disposals installed. Seriously, my disposal probably costs more than the appliances in my kitchen combined. Anyway – this thing is scary. In over a year, I still fear it. It has completely mangled actual silverware. It has eaten plastic utensils. And yesterday, it crushed my favorite measuring spoon to bits.
8. Even though I hate baths (sitting in your own dirty water is not my thing and I have no patience for that), I do think that if I had a giant marble bathtub that I would start to love them. Now I’m sold on the idea of having one because I want to make these DIY bath bombs! They will make sitting in your own fifth more beautiful.
9. In case you missed it, I shared my beauty faves over the weekend. Why can’t every day be beauty faves day?
10. It’s officially walking weather here and well, I am a lover of walking. I like to think I inherited it from my dad who walks constantly. It’s just so beautiful outside and in my opinion, walking is the best stress reliever. Also, the best gossiping time too. (True.)
11. Can’t get enough of this song. Hootie, you are so cool.
12. This post may be riddled with typos because I just stuck my jalapeño-covered hands in my eyes AGAIN and have to go finish melting down. I will never learn. Don’t even bring up the gloves.

You always manage to find awesome Buzzfeed articles. I can always relate :)
Also, YES, Darius’ new song is SO catchy and I love how he says the word “guitar” like “Gee-tar” for some reason…

You always manage to find the best Buzzfeed articles that I can always somehow relate to.
I also LOVE Darius’ new song, specifically the part where he says “guitar” like “GEE-Tar” for some reason…

Would love to make those funfetti cupcakes for my niece’s upcoming birthday party. Will we be privy to the recipe? :)
Don’t worry–I only used gloves (a double layer) when I was seeding like 25 jalapenos at one time and my hands still burned for hours. It’s my fear now whenever I use peppers, because I just don’t have the patience to not do it bare-handed.
ALSO ALSO! My boyfriend has clogged our sink many a time trying to put an entire half lemon down it–although, in his defense, a lot of people say to do this to make your sink smell nice. But, let’s face it, apartment rental disposals are NOT the cadillac of disposals, haha.
Love these posts!
uuuuugh MY Tuesday Things begins with talk of sprinkly cupcakes too. Now I’m SUBCONSCIOUSLY copying you. Gross.
These look delicious and so pretty!
Lucy Loves To Cook.
Those dessert nachos… wowza! Your fiesta will be one tasty event, for sure.
A. – gin – I see nothing wrong with bringing just liquor to a party…I’m also Catholic – I always say it is our only vice….and Bingo (gambling)…and fried fish.
B – those nachos – OMG – looks like dinner to me, as I will be consuming all of them on Friday night. (huge partier, right?).
C – the stages of getting addicted – its like they know me!
D – the bath thing – totally me. Whenever I actually do take a bath (largely because I love Lush products), I take a quick shower before and a longer one after…to clean myself after sitting in my own filth.
Love the blog, It’s my absolute favorite. I cannot count how many recipes I have made total…this week alone I have made 5 (yes, it is only Wednesday).
Those cupcakes!!! I so want one now!! I too am so lost without my phone. It’s so bad how reliant we are on it these days!
I’ve only had a garbage disposal once in my life and it scared the bejesus out of me. Even knowing it was flipped off I’d still freak out so I’d wait for hubs to come fish things out for me. He’s less of a baby than me.
You cutie!
I heart you so BIG!
SPRINKLES for LIFE! Yes!
And.
Funny you should mention being addicted to t.v. shows.
Last night Greg and I completed the British version of Homeland, mi5 season 9 out of 10.
I seriously looked at Greg with much concern expressing how I honestly did not know what life would be like past season 10 when the show actually ends.
After gazing in wonderment for like an hour, I began googling each British cast member to see what else they were in that might offer me a glimpse of being able to continue the relationships I’ve established with each of them.
I mean I thought I was in love with Dexter & Saul.
But I have seriously fallen totally in love with HARRY from mi5!
I hesitate to recommend the series to someone as cool & hip as yourself but if you are desperate for another addiction you may give it a whirl.
We started watching it as a last resort following Homeland and have honestly loved every episode past the first several ones where we were still in mourning for Homeland.
Anyhoo.
Obviously I get it.
The whole addiction thing.
Hugs to you sweet girl!
And WOW-zee on that disposal!!!!
xo
walk-gossiping is probably my favorite pastime! and I want maybe 40 of those cupcakes.
Did I miss the recipe for those fantastic looking cupcakes or do we need to bribe you somehow??
Oooo, those cupcakes look super yummy. My baby girl would love diving into those! :)
Hope your eye feels better fast…the first time I got jalapeno in my eye, I had a total meltdown, and even called the fire department for help. (it’s a really long story.) anyways, they just laughed. it was horrible.
happy tuesday!
Most of my shows aren’t done for the season yet – Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy, Survivor, Amazing Race, Army Wives, the CBS Monday night comedies, Big Bang Theory. I never have any problem finding something to watch on my DVR because I never get caught up. I still have 3 episodes of Good Wife to watch. But by August I’m ready for my shows to be back.
I just texted my friend how much I love you and especially the Tuesday things.
You don’t watch “Happy Endings”? ??? It is totes ah-mah-zing. lol. Friday nights 8 & 8:30. Funniest show on TV. Loooove it. Set the DVR NOW.
If you like Darius Rucker’s version of Wagon Wheel- check out Old Crowe Medicine Show’s version. :) My brother’s band has been playing this song for years. I can listen to it over and over and over.
By all means, yes! No one does this song like Old Crowe Medicine Show.
Those cupcakes are beautiful and you are too funny :) I can totally relate to those 27 stages!
Please please please please please please stop listening to the Hootie version and look up and enjoy even more the Old Crow Medicine Show original version (I use the term original loosely- they simply finished a Bob Dylan song). But seriously, that has been my favorite OCMS song FOR-EVER and I was so mad when Hootie covered it. His version SUCKS compared to theirs. Anyhoo #rantover
I saw that buzzfeed list and totally thought of you! And then I saw some affiliate list that had THE BEST NACHO RECIPIES EVER and thought of you even MORE! You must find it!
The Darius version needs to go. OCMS all the way. Seriously give that a listen.
