I love anything in mason jars, I’m kitchy like that. Salad in a jar makes so much sense, though it does make it a bit heavier to carry…ahh well!

I made the NY Times Chocolate Whiskey Cake (http://www.nytimes.com/recipes/1014419/chocolate-whiskey-cake.html) which looks very similar. I can tell you that it rocked my world. It is ahh-mazing. I topped it with a thick layer of the simple vanilla buttercream frosting from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe. Nom.
