Tuesday Things.
1. Who else feels like the month is just RIGHT when it starts out on a Monday? I will forever be a Monday-starting person.
2. Really can’t get over this rhubarb italian cream soda.
3. Sometimes I wish so badly that I could be a travel blogger/vlogger (hello, how fun would that be!) but it’s not even possible since I’m a normal person with a husband with a normal job and a babe! I’m going to dream though.
4. Not going to lie… I might have spent 15 minutes reading tweets from the frye festival this weekend. That cheese sandwich though.
5. Apparently AOL instant message turned 20 years old and when I saw that, I just recoiled in major embarrassment over the things I used to put in my profile. I’ll spare you the details but let’s just say at one point it included Rascal Flatts lyrics.
6. What to do when all your productivity hacks fail you. I love the ideas of batch tasks, but taking all the breaks you need? Hello, who will do my work. If I did that, my entire day would be one big break!
7. HOW GOOD WAS BILLIONS?! Oh my gosh. I thought that was the best episode of the series, period. On Saturday night, Eddie was up until 4am watching Vice on HBO and 13 Reasons Why. I have stayed away from it because ever since I had Max, I find it impossible to watch TV that isn’t overly happy or comedic – anything else just makes me anxious. I’m watching it though, like you all told me to, and agree it’s so good.
8. If you need a good cry, you must watch this video. The little boy, Andrew, mentioned in the video is from my town and I cannot stop watching this and bawling my eyes out.
9. What were some of the crazy Met gala looks you liked last night? I love Blake Lively, because DID YOU SEE THE BOTTOM. I thought Ashley Graham’s dress was cool too! And Kate Hudson. And Candice Swanepoel. And J Lo. And Lupita Nyong’o. And Gisele. Of course.

oh my gosh…when it comes to style, blake lively can do no wrong. i seriously need a peacock dress in my life now! maaaajor girl crush.
The cheese sandwich was definitely my favorite image of the chaos that was fyre fest.
Up until 4am watching Vice and 13 Reasons… Â and that’s exactly why I don’t watch those shows! I’m wide awake afterwards. Comedy only for me, too. At the very end of every Mindy Project episode it says “go to bed” and then I do.
Those getups from the Met were amusing. I’m swooning over those blue feathers, too. Like a real life mermaid.
Well thanks for the cry Jessica! Â Not sure why I watched that video, I’m not a sports fan at all, but I’m sure glad I did watch it. Why an inspirational story.Â
My Super Type A/slightly OCD personality LOVES that May 1st was a Monday.
Hi Jessica! Have you read any good books lately? I always love your recommendations!
I am still currently reading Alec Baldwin’s memoir! Reading has taken a backseat the last two weeks because I’m finishing up my book manuscript, but in another week or two I’ll be back with suggestions!
Sounds great! I can’t wait for your next cookbook. I met you and got my Seriously Delish book signed in Philly when you were on your book tour :)
Billions is amazing. I hear you about having your tastes shift after becoming a mom. Mine have. Try having a tween girl in middle school and watch 13 Reasons Why. Excruciating. Double whammy with having to talk with same kid about why I’m not allowing her to watch it and go into details I never want to talk about or think about (even though it’s ficitional- bullying and terrible things happen)
#cryFest I don’t need to watch anything that will make me cry more.
Thanks for the cry and a reminder that I may need a new steelers shirt.
i just didnt get rhianna ? i tried but no. i liked blake lively, priyanka chopra, laura osnes, and kate hudson. and i actually liked the bella hadid catsuit. madonna made me sad. but regardless im forever a material girl at heart.
Blake Lively’s dress at the Met Gala was the most beautiful thing I think I’ve ever seen, oh my god!

Weeping now but so grateful you posted a link to the video about James Conner. James is one amazing and inspirational young man…one destined to do great things . This young man has a heart that he openly shares with others and there is no way to teach that …It is something that comes from a place greater than all of us.The impact he continues to have on Ian and the precious gift  of love he gave to sweet Andrew is priceless.
I wish him all the best in the NFL and in wherever life takes him.
So thrilled that James Conner was selected by our Steelers. He is truly a leader in how he carries himself and how he inspires others. I will gladly pony up to get a Conner jersey – looks like he will be a leader like Heath was.
So sad to hear avocado prices are going up! When I lived in South Miami we had an avocado tree in our back yard – talk about bonus! Now that I’m back up in the Burgh it’s apple and peach trees – its all good though!
Oh my goodness, Jessica. Â I saw that video when it first aired Sunday on ESPN. I was lifting weights and it was on in the background. I lost it. Then my guy came in and I replayed it for him and we both lost it. Â So heartbreakingly sweet.Â
Grace – check out ‘Anything is Possible’ the new Elizabeth Strout. It’s SO good!
AIM turning 20 years old makes me feel SO OLD. Also, I saw yesterday that Austin Powers premiered 20 years ago and felt ancient again. I swear I was 16 like yesterday…
But the Met gala is basically a costume party with a theme! It’s a celebration of art through fashion. All those women that were mentioned were the most boring. What about the women of color that were present? They ROCKED it! Rihanna killed it, Zendaya! That hair, that dress, iconic! Please read up on the designer that was celebrated that night.Â
#5- did you not want to spend another lonely night OOoooOOOoooOooohhh? :D
My personal fave is when the month starts on a Sunday. Then the calendar days fill the boxes from the start and it satisfies my intense need for order. :)
also, AIM. Freshman year of college I probably spent more time crafting “away messages” than I did actually studying. (and since we’re the same age I DEF had some RF lyrics in mine too. NO SHAME!)
As a Pitt grad and a die hard Steeler fan, I was thrilled when James Conner got drafted. I really hope he has a successful career wearing the black and gold. I am more impressed with him after seeing this video.
That was some delicious recipes to try for a Tuesday evening. My favorite day of the week is Saturday as most other people on this planet.
