max moments: the best summer ever!
If you would have told me that one of the best summers of my life would be when I have a 2 year old running around like crazy and am pretty pregnant with another babe, I would have thought you were insane. But this has been the BEST SUMMER EVER. We have had so, so much fun together. Tell me how it’s possible that I still want to spend every single waking moment with this boy? He is the sweetest little pile of love. He tells me he loves me like 400 times a day. He “kisses and hugs” the baby every morning and night. He wants to snuggle every afternoon but also plays so wonderfully on his own that I can manage to get things done on my list. I don’t know how I got so lucky to be in this situation. This is seriously so much better than I ever thought it would be.
We’ve had such a blast since May. Max went to a few zoo camps at the Pittsburgh Zoo and some Little Sprouts camps at Phipps Conservatory. We went to the museum a few times and the most exciting thing this summer was that Max’s first cousin was born and he is obsessed with her. He talks about her everyday and it’s adorable. As you can see by the photos, his favorite thing to do all summer was SWIM! He is super sad that the pool will be closing up for the winter. And he loves to be outside ALL the time.
He’s already very excited for Halloween (although he keeps say “dada is going to be Mater and mama is going to be Sally” from Cars and I’m just like uhhhhh… ) and apple picking and was even asking about his McQueen birthday cake from last year this past weekend.
Basically, he is my favorite thing in the entire universe. xo

Of all of the things you have created, Max is the best one……. enjoy!
Is the painting photo from Children’s Museum??? I grew up in Meadville (like 90 miles north of Pittsburgh on 79) but my Aunt went to Pitt and I have the BEST memories of her taking my brother and I to the children’s museum in Pittsburgh as kids. And I remember wearing the big smock in the paint room (literally in 1990–I don’t know why I remember that so well, but hopefully Max will have these memories for years to come!).
DUDE- that squish face he makes kills me every time I see it! Total cuteness overload.
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, MAX!
I have been waiting for a Max photo dump for ages. LOVE the one of him eating bread at Trader Joe’s!!! And him in his ladybug crown, I remember when you posted that on insta stories and I lost it over the cuteness.
What is in his cup at Starby’s?? Is it a cupful of whipped cream?? That’s my kind of kid!
Max is winning the internet! He makes the Best. Faces. Ever. Plus? the InstaStories when he was saying ‘I love you baby’ ? heart melting. It almost makes me want to have a 2yr old in my life again. (but I have a tweenager which is a completely different sort of delight, but not unlike the toddler years. LOL) Thank you for sharing so many fun photos and family stories. It’s one of the things that I love about this blog.
Cars actually came out when I had my second and my first was (thankfully) obsessed with the movie. He would watch it over and over which was such a blessing. I wish he would have suggested family costumes! Too cute!! Max is adorable. Thanks for sharing him!

When you show love, care, and take the quality time you do with Max, you get a great little boy who loves, cares and cherishes his mama and dada! You are lucky to have such an adorable child but you and Eddie are the true influencers.
he is so precious! thank you for sharing your beautiful little family along with all your awesome recipes!
The pix of Max trying to bite the baguette in the shopping cart made me laugh out loud.  I hope the bread  was warm and there was butter close by!
I. Love. Him! All his expressions and adventures and just everything. And always love reading your words, which are so full of joy and which have always made me so excited for the next stage for us, too. More Max, more Baby 2 always!!!!! YAY for a wonderful summer.
Love the motorcycle photo!
