What Mr. How Sweet Eats In A Day.
Occasionally I get the impression that you guys think I’m… exaggerating about Mr. How Sweet’s food consumption.
I wish I was. Trust me.
If I was, we’d have a lot more money and a lot more shoes in my closet. Well, okay, we wouldn’t have more money then. But shoes, yes.
Yesterday, Mr. How Sweet took pictures of his food! So this is what he ate on a weekend. It’s different than his weekdays, but do you think he is about to take a picture of his food at work?
On weekdays he usually eats breakfast at about 5:30, but weekends it is more like 8.
Yesterday was 3 eggs and 2 Trader Joe’s waffles. I had some waffles too. So good.
Then an hour later, he ate a frozen Greek yogurt.
This was his pre-workout snack. He went to lift weights and grunt like man for a few hours.
He had to stop at the grocery store after the gym, because we can’t let one day go by without going to the store. He got hangry and had this disgusting protein bar.
I’d rather gnaw on a rotten stalk of broccoli than eat that.
Well, sort of.
He came home and prepared his first lunch. Yes… his first.
Chicken, baked beans and brown rice. Notice the beautiful, bright green veggies. Lunch of champions. Or… lunch of manly men who wear sleeveless shirts and listen to Taylor Swift on iTunes for 40 minutes.
An hour later, he was still hungry.
Out comes another frozen Green yogurt.
Late afternoon, he is famished. I mean, so hungry that he just can’t see straight. I can’t expect him to sit there and suffer, he tells me.
He makes a chicken sandwich with deli ham, cheese and honey mustard. He called it his take on chicken cordon bleu. He was quite impressed with himself. He made extra so he could have it for lunch today.
Then, since we didn’t get to have our usual Friday night pizza, we ordered some. (PS-> updated What We Ate!)
I was going to make homemade pizza, but we were out of cheese. Quite surprising, considering we were at the grocery store 6 times since Friday – between the both of us.
He had 7 slices.
So that’s that. Weekdays are fairly similar – usually he eats all of that food, plus 2 or 3 english muffins with peanut butter and jelly during the day and pretzels or pita chips after dinner. You’d think I’m feeding a family of 4.
Help.

Wow. That must be crazy for your food budget! I am SO jealous of your appetite.
Um, excuse me…did you say 7 slices?
That I did.
Holy bottomless pit, batman! That man can pack it away. Gotta say, I’m impressed.
I’m reminded, though, of the other day when he didn’t even want to taste your red velvet brownies. Or eat more than the amount that he ended up eating…
Personally? I’d rather eat 7 of those brownies. :)
Whoaaaa… that is a lot of food!
my husband eats extra meals, too. And he’s skinny. Argh.
but lately, he’s been tired of his regular meals, so he has been adding in more fruits and veggies and surprise surprise, he is finding that he can eat less and be satisfied longer because he is eating more healthily.
tell your Man that… and mine lifts weights, too – but he doesn’t eat protein bars – he does do protein drinks.
Haha, I can so relate! When we first got married – the biggest adjustment to living with Meeker was learning how much he ate!! I would make whole lasagna (expecting to have leftovers for a couple of days) and he’d polish off the whole dang pan in one sitting. It used to make me angry that we had to spend so much on food, but I’ve adjusted – now I think it’s hilarious.
I am so glad you shared this! It makes me smile! I cook dinner for four for my husband and I. I eat one serving, he eats three! Last night he had two slices of toast with peanut butter AFTER dinner for good measure!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! So glad you did this post! It made me laugh..just because I am beyond impressed @ how much Mr. How Sweet can eat. If I had a medal I would send it to him! :)
Oh my gosh, we should form a ‘wives of big eaters’ support club. My husband eats just like yours does, and he stays slim and fit. (He does workout for at least an hour a day, but still.) It’s SO unfair.
WOW, that is a lot of food. My husband does not eat as much…but he does like his salty foods (chips, pizza, burgers, etc!!) It is amazing how much salt he can put down, haha: )
Whoh! He has one BIG appetite! :D Does his day ever include your brownies? ;)
xoxo

One of my favorite posts ever…LOL!!!!
Wowsers! I think our grocery bill is enough already, I couldn’t imagine my husband having that appetite. Actually I think he could, I think he just doesn’t eat like that otherwise we would be at the grocery store everyday, and he couldn’t afford his comic books monthly. LOL
wow, I’m impressed. Like, totally.
I’m glad he goes to the gym. And that he doesn’t eat a lot of sugar/fat laden junk food.(But how can he NOT EAT all the super cute&delicious looking sweets you make? Men are complex!)
For veggies, maybe you can make some sort of bean/potato/tomato sauce dish since they are considered vegetable…Or maybe some sort of vegetable gratin with cheese?
Anyway, now I get what you’re saying….I just wish I had his metabolism!
