Peas and Thank You Cookbook Giveaway!
Oh my yum.
I know this has been a coincidentally uncharacteristic week on How Sweet It Is, but I promise tomorrow will more than make up for it. Monday too. You’ll be lucky if you can button your pants by Tuesday.
I am super excited about this giveaway! In fact, my excitement has grown every single day this week.. because I can’t stop eating things out of this book.
MamaPea is the creator of the blog Peas and Thank You, if you didn’t know. She has some of the cutest kids I’ve ever seen and will make you wet your pants on a daily basis with her hilarity. She just wrote this fabulous cookbook which is so much more than just a cookbook. [Bonus: my close friend Ashley did much of the food photography for the book!] She is also vegan, which yeah… is the complete opposite of me.
But the thing is, we love a lot of the same foods. She just makes them with different (uhh… and healthier) ingredients and lots of vegetables. Ew?
I may not love vegetables, but I love delicious food. Really love it. Duh! And there have been countless times over the last year and a half I’ve been blogging that I’ve made one of her recipes (can we say dough balls?), because if she can’t get me to eat vegetables then I doubt anyone can. #imscrewed
The minute I got my hands on her book I made the thai veggie burgers.
Get.in.my.mouth.
Holy cow, these were flippin’ delicious. It was my first time making a veggie burger and I was more than pleasantly surprised. I want to lay my head down on a thai burger pillow tonight.
I also made a batch of the ever popular mmm sauce, which I promptly slathered on my [third] thai veggie burger.
Sure I’ll swim in this bowl. Thanks for asking.
And yesterday afternoon, I ate this chickpea strawberry salad then almost died.
Not because I ate so many vegetables at once, but because this salad was so amazingly good. I immediately wanted to pour the remaining cinnamon vinaigrette over my head. Then I emailed MamaPea and told her that this was probably the best cookbook I have tried recipes from since my beloved Williams Sonoma Handbook. That is huge! And it doesn’t even have bacon in it.
The recipes are mostly vegetarian with a handful of vegan ones, and are so easy but so delicious – I find them to be extremely adaptable for when you do want to add meat or in my case… need to add meat for that guy you life with. Trust me: you want this book. [If you have any doubts, just check out the SIXTY TWO 5 star reviews.]
Today you can enter to win a copy of the book! In addition, you’ll also get a “pea pack” with all of these fun things, and I’m totally jealous though I have no need for an apron that says “Mama” or a bib. Except for that guy I… yeah, you know.
To Enter: Just leave a comment on this post. Any comment. Go!
[Contest closes Friday, Aug 12th at midnight EST.] [If you absolutely can’t wait to get your hands on the book or want to order one for your friends, click here!]

I was vegetarian for 3 and 1/2 years and one of the reasons why I converted back was because I wasn’t being a healthy eater (read: I only ate pasta). It sounds like this cookbook could be an inspiration to vegetarians everywhere who need a more balanced and delicious diet.
I have never seen so many vegetables in one post on this site! haha
I would love to win it!!
yay! a cookbook? Yes Peas(and thank you!)
I’ve been wanting to pick up this cookbook so bad!! That strawberry chickpea salad looks SO GOOD. And I just devoured a huge batch of Mmmm sauce. Can’t get enough of that stuff!
I love your website, I check it every morning when I get into work haha. And I want this book :)

Ahh! I have been hearing so many good things about this book – I’d love to try it all! :)
I love reading your blog! What a cute give-a-way! I **could definitely use some more veggies in my life.
YUM. Take me to veggie town
that chicpea salad looks amazing! i might have to add this to my cookbook collection!
Always love a new cookbook to try! Mama Pea’s recipes always look delicious!
oooh I am dying to get my hands on this book!
Jessica! I feel it is time that I respond to somethingg because at this point i seem to refer to you in everyday conversation. Ex. “Oh you like bacon?? My um, friend.. um Jessica. She does as well. It’s well..great.” Usually ends with me explaining that we, in fact, do NOT know each other and that I just follow your blog.. and facebook… and twitter. yikes. Anyway, I am a musician who is suddenly and quickly turning into a foodie.. and a vegetarian foodie at that. After being walked in by my boyfriend at 9 am this morning ONLY in a T shirt with a batch of your peanutbutter fudge pretzel brownies in hand, just to “check on them”, i realized i might be a good candidate for this cookbook. — Thank you! and Thanks for the recipes! :)
I love this community between blogs! I hear the Pea cook book is just as hilarious as the blog – never hurts to laugh more : )
MMM!!! Everything looks amazing. I’d love a copy of this book!
Ohhhh i desperately want this cookbook!!!
If Mama Pea can convert you to a vegan eater (even for just one meal), she can do it to anyone! I personally like to alternate my vegan meals with ones including bacon and cheese, but am still dying for this book and the pea pack!
everything looks aaaamazing!!!!
Yes, peas!
I love Mama Pea. And her kids are so darn cute.
I’ve been DYING to get my hands on this cookbook!!! I LOVE Mama Pea and I love her recipes!! I’m also anxiously waiting for YOU to do a cookbook as your blog is my go-to site for dinner ideas….and breakfast and lunch and snack and just about any time I decide it is time for a meal. Your recipes rock as well!!
Me, peas and thank you!
Always looking for yummy, healthy recipes to try! This book would be wonderful!
Thanks for the giveaway. I check your blog everyday!!
I’m so glad you’re doing this giveaway! I would love to have that cookbook :).
Yummy! Just found your blog a few days ago. I think we are foodie soulmates.
I am just getting started with learning to cook, this would be a perfect way to set me in the right direction!!
My “meat and potatoes” hubby would run screaming from Mama Pea’s recipes, but not me! Bring on the creative meatless meals. If I win this giveaway, my challenge will be to fool my husband into loving veggie burgers. Great blog btw! I bet if you make your peanut butter fudge cupcakes, they’ll let you on set of the Batman movie!
I want this cookbook! I’ve been making your food for a long time and have not come across one thing that is bad. Maybe a few I wouldn’t try, but nothing I’ve made from here has been bad! If you like this cookbook, I’d like this cookbook.
I’m about to go horribly attempt to recreate all these recipes without the book because I can’t even wait by now. they look sooo good so if you would like to assist in me not being a failure…
The veggie burger look delish! Thanks for the chance to win!
I already have this cookbook and love it to pieces, but I want another for my mama. And a pea pack. I’m greedy.
The hubs JUST told me last week that he wants to start eating less meat (exact opposite of yours, clearly. We should trade every once in a while…). That veggie burger looks delish too!
Jessica you rock! Have been reading your blog for about a year now and I think you are just hilarious and want to move to your city so we can be friends. I just know we would be like peas and carrots. Except more like caramel and chocolate! Have a great day and don’t forget to pick my number!
I would love to own this cookbook. The recipes look amazing!!
My boyfriend needs to eat less meat and more veggies, and he will eat anything I put in front of him. Score!
I check your blog EVERY day and make your recipes all the time! Just can’t wait for this cookbook!
Lemme at it! I love curious vegetable creations :D
Aghh can’t wait for this cookbook!
ahhh i want this book! those thai burgers look awesome :)
I’ve been looking for some meatless meal ideas. Meatless meals that my bacon-addicted husband can get on board with. Sounds like a winner!
What a fun book-don’t have the kiddos-but the book would come in handy when I try and get the hubs to eat vegetarian. And Thai veggie burgers-sounds delish.
I love the Peas!!
Looks sooo good!!! I just ate breakfast and I am drooling again..
strawberry deliciousness is calling my name! pick me! pick me! pick me! (pretty please? and thank you?)
I would love a new cookbook. Those recipes you have made look amazing!! I only have one other cookbook that doesn’t involve bacon, butter, or sugar in large amounts so a healthy one would be good to have.
