Peas and Thank You Cookbook Giveaway!
Oh my yum.
I know this has been a coincidentally uncharacteristic week on How Sweet It Is, but I promise tomorrow will more than make up for it. Monday too. You’ll be lucky if you can button your pants by Tuesday.
I am super excited about this giveaway! In fact, my excitement has grown every single day this week.. because I can’t stop eating things out of this book.
MamaPea is the creator of the blog Peas and Thank You, if you didn’t know. She has some of the cutest kids I’ve ever seen and will make you wet your pants on a daily basis with her hilarity. She just wrote this fabulous cookbook which is so much more than just a cookbook. [Bonus: my close friend Ashley did much of the food photography for the book!] She is also vegan, which yeah… is the complete opposite of me.
But the thing is, we love a lot of the same foods. She just makes them with different (uhh… and healthier) ingredients and lots of vegetables. Ew?
I may not love vegetables, but I love delicious food. Really love it. Duh! And there have been countless times over the last year and a half I’ve been blogging that I’ve made one of her recipes (can we say dough balls?), because if she can’t get me to eat vegetables then I doubt anyone can. #imscrewed
The minute I got my hands on her book I made the thai veggie burgers.
Get.in.my.mouth.
Holy cow, these were flippin’ delicious. It was my first time making a veggie burger and I was more than pleasantly surprised. I want to lay my head down on a thai burger pillow tonight.
I also made a batch of the ever popular mmm sauce, which I promptly slathered on my [third] thai veggie burger.
Sure I’ll swim in this bowl. Thanks for asking.
And yesterday afternoon, I ate this chickpea strawberry salad then almost died.
Not because I ate so many vegetables at once, but because this salad was so amazingly good. I immediately wanted to pour the remaining cinnamon vinaigrette over my head. Then I emailed MamaPea and told her that this was probably the best cookbook I have tried recipes from since my beloved Williams Sonoma Handbook. That is huge! And it doesn’t even have bacon in it.
The recipes are mostly vegetarian with a handful of vegan ones, and are so easy but so delicious – I find them to be extremely adaptable for when you do want to add meat or in my case… need to add meat for that guy you life with. Trust me: you want this book. [If you have any doubts, just check out the SIXTY TWO 5 star reviews.]
Today you can enter to win a copy of the book! In addition, you’ll also get a “pea pack” with all of these fun things, and I’m totally jealous though I have no need for an apron that says “Mama” or a bib. Except for that guy I… yeah, you know.
To Enter: Just leave a comment on this post. Any comment. Go!
[Contest closes Friday, Aug 12th at midnight EST.] [If you absolutely can’t wait to get your hands on the book or want to order one for your friends, click here!]

I love you…uh…I mean your blog. I love your blog. And I am glad that my husband is not the only freak of nature that eats such huge quantities. Its just the 2 of us and I cook enough food for a family of 5…because he eats enough for 4 people. And I dont know where it all goes…he is tall and skinny. I don’t think he is ever full.
Sounds amazing. If you like the recipes, perhaps there is hope for my veggie-phobic husband …..
I am not a vegetarian either, but I do love my veggies! This book sounds incredible!
I love you blog btw, How Sweet…I look forward to it every day :)
Oh. my. word. I have been dying for this!! And ps when are you going to write yours?!
I agree with Andrea. When are you going to write your book?! :) But seriously…a cinnamon vinaigrette sounds perfect :)

The book looks wonderful! Can’t wait to try the recipes. How soon can we expect to see your book?
Cinnamon Vinagarette???? YES PLEASE!!! With the price of meat going through the roof, this is a GREAT time to start my vegan lifestyle…well except for Bacon, which, we know is not a meat but…like, Manna from Heaven…that will always be affordable!
Hope I’m the lucky winner :)
Thanks for offering a giveaway!! There are so many of us trying to eat healthy and I try to go meatless a couple times a week….but it is hard and I am always looking for new vegetarian recipes!!
Even my boys love to try new foods, including veggies, and this cookbook sounds AMAZING!! My mouth is still watering over the veggie burger.
Your household sounds a lot like mine! Love this post. Thanks for the giggles…
We r trying to do Meatless Mondays. This will help us tremendously.
Wow! I am in love with the chickpeas in that salad! Please enter me for the drawing. I’m a newbie to your blog but I’m lovin’ it – even if I DO love veggies. I’m all about the bacon, yo!
By the way, have you tried crisp bacon crumbled up in your oatmeal? mmmmmmmm………..
That salad looks delish! I would love to win the Peas and Thank you cookbook :)
I really look forward to this blog every day! I wish I had a Trader Joe’s near me, you make me jealous. I used to live an hour from one and went all the time, now the nearest one is over 3 hours away! I have used many of your recipes all throughout the summer and being a teacher and being off, it gave me something to look forward to and be creative with every day! Thanks!
This cookbook sounds fantastic! Thank you for the giveaway!
That chickpea salad looks AMAZING!

I LOVE this!! I’m always eager to learn of new veggie recipes & that book looks like just the place :)
I also would love to win the cookbook. Thanks for the giveaway! Love your blog! :)
Your photos always do food (and everything else you capture) justice — and I could eat the strawberry salad shot off my screen — *nom nom nom*!
I want one just so I can find out what a Crack Wrap is!
This looks amazing. Pick me, peas!!
I love mama pea’s recipes and haven’t seen her book in any stores near us–but making veggies taste delicious is probably *actually* the greatest thing since sliced bread!
This book sounds great – can’t wait to see it!
My kids need more veggies in their diet and this looks like the perfect way to get good ideas.
I absolutely love your website!! You are darling. Would love to win this beautiful cookbook! The thai veggie burgers are making me hungry…Thank you!
Any comment ? Like maybe I have surprised myself and started eating veggie burgers..but I cannot stand the fact they’re called burgers when they don’t believe in burgers per say..why not call them little round veggie gardens or veggie discs..but please…NOT veggie Burgers…
Did I win? lol
This book looks awesome, would love to have and make healthy food for my hubby!
I am already dreaming about that chickpeas and strawberry salad. I need another cookbook like I need a whole in my head. I think this may get a spot on one of my two cookbook bookcases. Love my books!!
I am very interested in trying this cookbook. And…I just found your blog, and I love it!
I have heard many wonderful things about this cookbook. I would love to try the mmm sauce that everyone is raving about. Thanks!
I would love to use creative ways to incorporate more veggies into my diet, considering I definitely don’t eat enough right now!
My daughter is more or less a vegetarian, and my husband is a carnivore. I think the recipes look awesome. Maybe I could fool him :0)
yummmmmm!!!
Been following your blog for about a month now. Love it!
How fun is this! First you mention adult beverages, then family friendly delicious and healthy food. I’m in!
Gotta try that mmm sauce, it’s showing up on multiple blogs now :)
I’d love to try to eat more healthy. And if I can get my meat lovin husband on board with some of these, that would be an even bigger bonus.
Thanks for the great blog! You always make me laugh first thing in the morning when I’m reading your site while eating my breakfast. Upon occasion milk has been known to come out of my nose while laughing, while reading your blog.
Keep up the good work!
I’m loving the sound of the thai vegie burger. I’m wondering if I could get away with that to make for my family. Perhaps I shall try! =)
Love your site! Is your book next??
I could easily be a vegetarian if it weren’t for my husband. This looks like a great cookbook that I could make family meals out of to fool him. If he is watching football every Sunday from here on out then he won’t know what ingredients go into his meal ;)
