Peas and Thank You Cookbook Giveaway!
Oh my yum.
I know this has been a coincidentally uncharacteristic week on How Sweet It Is, but I promise tomorrow will more than make up for it. Monday too. You’ll be lucky if you can button your pants by Tuesday.
I am super excited about this giveaway! In fact, my excitement has grown every single day this week.. because I can’t stop eating things out of this book.
MamaPea is the creator of the blog Peas and Thank You, if you didn’t know. She has some of the cutest kids I’ve ever seen and will make you wet your pants on a daily basis with her hilarity. She just wrote this fabulous cookbook which is so much more than just a cookbook. [Bonus: my close friend Ashley did much of the food photography for the book!] She is also vegan, which yeah… is the complete opposite of me.
But the thing is, we love a lot of the same foods. She just makes them with different (uhh… and healthier) ingredients and lots of vegetables. Ew?
I may not love vegetables, but I love delicious food. Really love it. Duh! And there have been countless times over the last year and a half I’ve been blogging that I’ve made one of her recipes (can we say dough balls?), because if she can’t get me to eat vegetables then I doubt anyone can. #imscrewed
The minute I got my hands on her book I made the thai veggie burgers.
Get.in.my.mouth.
Holy cow, these were flippin’ delicious. It was my first time making a veggie burger and I was more than pleasantly surprised. I want to lay my head down on a thai burger pillow tonight.
I also made a batch of the ever popular mmm sauce, which I promptly slathered on my [third] thai veggie burger.
Sure I’ll swim in this bowl. Thanks for asking.
And yesterday afternoon, I ate this chickpea strawberry salad then almost died.
Not because I ate so many vegetables at once, but because this salad was so amazingly good. I immediately wanted to pour the remaining cinnamon vinaigrette over my head. Then I emailed MamaPea and told her that this was probably the best cookbook I have tried recipes from since my beloved Williams Sonoma Handbook. That is huge! And it doesn’t even have bacon in it.
The recipes are mostly vegetarian with a handful of vegan ones, and are so easy but so delicious – I find them to be extremely adaptable for when you do want to add meat or in my case… need to add meat for that guy you life with. Trust me: you want this book. [If you have any doubts, just check out the SIXTY TWO 5 star reviews.]
Today you can enter to win a copy of the book! In addition, you’ll also get a “pea pack” with all of these fun things, and I’m totally jealous though I have no need for an apron that says “Mama” or a bib. Except for that guy I… yeah, you know.
To Enter: Just leave a comment on this post. Any comment. Go!
[Contest closes Friday, Aug 12th at midnight EST.] [If you absolutely can’t wait to get your hands on the book or want to order one for your friends, click here!]

Those burgers look delicious! I could go for one with some mmm sauce for lunch…
I have been reading more and more vegetarian recipes as I love my veggies (and my bacon… don’t confuse me for a vegetarian.) Looks yummy!
I’ve been trying to come up with delicious vegetarian meals for my family for years but always end up feeling unsatisfied. Maybe this will be the game changer??
Hello, vegetables that look delicious. Rarely do I think vegetables look delicious. I’m probably going to need that cookbook.
How funny, trying to loose the baby weight, and read that for my blood type I should be a vegetarian, which is insane because I love meat! and now you are giving away this book. Is this a sign?
Oh my goodness. I’m a vegetarian and I’ve recently become more involved in cooking. This cookbook seems perfect!
I want this cookbook!! Great giveaway.
This cookbook is just what I need. I’ve been trying to find more meatless meals to feed my family. Pick me, please!!!
Ooooo This looks like an awesome book. I have been eating more and more veggies {and subsequently less and less meat} in the last couple years. We even have meatless meals at least once a week. *GASP* But I feel like too much meat really bogs me down and the veggies that we are getting from the CSA taste SO DARN GOOD!!!
would love to read the book and try the recipes with these so called things called “vegetables”. thanks!
I would like that chickpea and strawberry salad immediately, peas and thank you!
The cookbook sounds fantastic! Thanks for sharing:) I am trying to incorporate more vegetarian meals into our weekly dinners but my meat-loving fiance is always resisting.

I’m pretty sure my skinny jeans migrating to the back of my closet coincided with finding your blog. The non-sugar crazed part of me thinks throwing some healthy veggie recipes in the mix might be a good idea ;)
Wonderful post. That veg burger looks incredible, and those dough balls just shot to the top of my weekend list.
I am a new follower, but I love how you post new recipes all of the time. I made the stuffed peppers with tomato basil cream sauce, and it was a huge hit! Can’t wait to try more recipes!
Cinnamon Vinagrette?? That sounds beyond amazing. I must get this for that alone.
I love this blog!!!!
OK, but seriously? I left you a comment and then ran off Mama Peas website to check her out, OMG, how fun is she and her family! One thing I love about the food blogs is how hilarious you all are in your writing, simply everyday life and great recipes to boot! Read the first paragraph of her hubby taking care of the kids when she was away…I simply can’t stop rolling on the floor laughing! The littlest one spends an awful lot of time in that life jacket when Dad’s in charge. HA HA HA. Was having a bit of a blue day :( But not anymore, you both have cheered me up so much I’m hitting the gym and I’ll be laughing the whole way. Thank you Thank you for helping me cheer up simply by being you Sweetie xo Beth ♥
