Tuesday Things.
1. These are the best things I think I’ve seen all… my life. I’m so, so, so in love.
2. On Saturday I became intoxicated with my vanilla bean paste and decided to EAT AN ENTIRE SPOONFUL. Yeah. Don’t do it.
3. You know how I mentioned I have that stupid Friends addiction at the moment? It’s KILLING ME. Now i just DVR all the episodes so the DVR is full. Which is a problem when I want to DVR all the other trash on TV.
4. FYI: Trader Joe’s has these things. You’ve been warned.
5. I think you (yes, you!) should create a brown butter scented candle because I will make you the richest person in the world. Then I will probably die from attempting to eat it.
6. Remember last week how I told you about my insanity with Pinterest and nail polish? Well that led to nail polish blogs (which are fine and dandy, until someone literally loses their, uh… stuff… when they break a nail) which then led to BirchBox. As someone obsessed with all things makeup and beauty, tell me about this BirchBox thing. Enlighten me please!
7. I’m in love with this dress for New Year’s. It will look lovely against the backdrop of which is… my couch.
8. I used to think that grown-up life was just like old-school 90210. Thank God it’s not because 90s fashion should be locked away in a vault. Forrr-evvv-err.
9. I’m about to purge everything from my fridge. Pray that I come out alive and not buried underneath a pile of crisper-drawer zombies.

I am totally looking into this Birchbox thing right now… $10?? I LOVE samples. This looks like fun…
I didn’t know about Birchbox! Thank you for introducing me! Your Tuesday things change my life for the better.
Love!
Does that really say Cookie Butter…? OMG. lol

Curious about the price on the Speculoos spread at TJ’s. Just spent a fortune ($8 each) on the Biscoff stuff on Amazon and am so hoping the TJ’s stuff is cheaper!!! My husband is OBSESSED with Speculoos so I am giving it as a stocking stuff and justified it that way, but, I know we are going to be addicted and will need a cheaper substitute! Thanks for the info!
Oh yeah it’s def cheaper. I want to say it was $3.99?
AMAZING!!! Thanks, Jessica!!
It was only $3.69! And it’s totally indistinguishable from the Lotus brand (which is $4.99 at Whole Foods) – I tried them side by side – so you’re not missing out on anything :)
Yeah! Now, if I can only start working construction so that the soon to be TJ’s in my town will open up faster…
I have the same Friends issue… I DVR TBS every day from 4-6… But I completely ignore any responsibilities I may have that night and watch them. I may or may not have a problem.
I love your Tuesday Things!
Question: For Pinterest, I “asked” for an invite about a month ago and still have not heard anything. Is this normal? Or does Pinterest not want me to join the party? :-P
From what I hear, there is an insanely long waiting list, but I just sent you an invite! :)
Thank you so much!! Now I have something else to waste my time on! I mean, get ideas for the house my husband and I plan on buying. :-)
Yes, replying to the Pinterest thing, it’s taking forever! So someone has to invite you personally or you have to wait for however long to be ‘accepted’?
cocoa almond spread? shut the freak up.
That dress? I want it. Now. So ridiculously perfect for a fancy night out or New Years!!
1. I love Tuesday Things.
2. Since you number things, I felt that I should too.
3. I also love vanilla bean paste. I was sworn to secrecy by my friend living in England (so don’t tell anyone) who sent me some – and it’s amazing.
4. I love Friends. PIVOT!!!
As if I dont have enough stuff to spend my $ on the subscription crushes of mine are causing my cable to go unpaid! =shut off=BF has to pay my whole 2 months halves worth of the bill plus his half! Oh well I love fun mail! So, have you heard of ECO EMI? just like birch box but eco friendly all natural often organic products. My FAV. Also, Joy from Joy the Baker has a new gift box subscription, ENJOY. ENJOY will arrive every 3 months. Waiting list re-opens in February and I’m bitting my nails waiting for that day.
My friend is in love with birchbox and after you submit an online review you get credit, free gifts and eventually -a full size- free product! ECO EMI hasn’t got to that yet but they send wonderful products!
*eeeep* did you buy/try those TJ spreads?? I saw the cookie one, but hesitated to buy it (why, I don’t know, I was drunk maybe). I’m so curious if they’re good!
I just got my first BirchBox in November and I am in love, can’t wait to get my December box. Thinking about doing the 3-month subscription as part of my Christmas gifts this year.
please tell me #5 is a Jess Darling/Marcus Flutie reference… We may be soulmates :-D
i loved those books. i’m from jersey. i’d swear it was about my life sometimes.
Cookie butter?!?!?! It’s seriously a good thing they are closed for the night, or I’d be in my car by now!
You kill me. Now I need to go to TJs and get the Birch Box subscription! Thanks a lot :) Happy Thanksgiving (get that dress and wear it all the time!)
Thanks for sharing the Fruity Pebble Macarons girl!! :-)
…and for the first time ever I am so happy I don’t live next to a Trader Joe’s. That cookie butter would be the death of me! Holy crap that sounds amazing!!
Oh my heavens, that dress!!! I want it so badly. Since you are wearing it to go to our couch – I think I’ll wear it with a diaper bag as an accessory. Not complete without some spit up on the shoulder, either.
Cocoa almond spread sounds good! ;)
now i’m seriously considering doing a birchbox gift for my bridesmaids in the months leading up to the wedding. why did i not know this existed??
I love Birchbox — I’m a wannabe glamour girl on a discount diva’s budget. So for $10 a month, getting small sizes of LOTS of amazing products is great…and those samples actually last a long time! Some stuff is better than others, but I haven’t had a box that bummed me out yet.
I’m actually thinking of ordering Birchbox subscriptions for some of my friends for Xmas!
I was thinking of doing that same thing!
Yes, they also make a Biscoff Spead – tastes just like the cookies!
I love your Tuesday things posts – I always feel so enlighted (and a wee bit more normal after reading them – hee hee)
And LOVE Friends…I always think of the Cheesecake one – the one where they keep stealing the neighbors cheescake and can’t stop eating it. And then at the end they drop it on the floor, look at each other and then start eating it off the floor. Netflix really needs to add that to their Instant View list. Frasier is another show that sleighs me!
I am subscribed to Birchbox and I LOVE IT! I get the BEST samples and they are actually useable sizes, not just a like smidge of the product. You should definitely try it out! Best $10 I spend a month!
What is Birchbox!? Am I missing out on something.
And Cookie Butter!? What!?
Love Friends too. Used to watch it all the time and now get caught up with the re-runs. Oh and by the way thanks a lot for turning me onto Dirty Soap! I think the episodes are over for now.
OK, so Birchbox rocks. I’m obsessed with all things beauty product. And I am a comittemnt-phobe, I can never just pick one that I love and stick with it – I’m always looking for the next best thing. So it’s pretty much perfect because I can try tons of stuff and find a new obsession, then quickly move onto another. Good thing this was never my strategy with men… Last month there was even a legit sized bottle of Zoya nail polish. It might be the best $10 you spend a month on presents for yourself.
Also, I want to swim in that Cocoa Almond Spread! Can we make cookies that feature that, stat? I’m about to start the baking marathon this weekend…
Friends is awesome!! I own all the episodes and have watched them enough that I actually need to replace a season, wore it out :P
I have seen this Birchbox thing mentioned a few times, when I have extra money I totally am going to sign up!
Holy crap… Fruity Pebble macarons?!? I need these in my life now!!
Oh, I hope you don’t mind, but I told my husband it’s your fault that I now have a life sucking addiction to Pinterest. I’ll probably need to blame you for the Birchbox deliveries now too. :)
Yeah I succumbed to the Speculoos purchase. It is dangerous.
Ok I’m officially going to buy stock in Trader Joe’s for as much as everyone on your blog shops there. STILL don’t have one in Dallas yet, but fingers crossed before I turn 50 there will be one (btw I’m no where near 50, just hit the “Dirty 30”) and I’ll be able to enjoy all the wonderful things you post about it. Only been to 1 in Chicago this past summer and I loved it. If it weren’t for the fact that I had to fly home the next day and would not have had room for clothes in my suitcase, I would have bought out half the store and put it all in my luggage to take home.
Too funny! I bought the TJs cookie butter spread last night…I haven’t used it yet, but I salivate just thinking about it. I’m intimidated by its awesomeness.
I am always in love with the idea of going out on New Year’s Eve in a fabulous dress and ringing in the New Year in a very glamrous way yet every year Keith and I usually end up playing scrabble and watching the ball drop on TV in NYC. Oh wait…it gets better…and when that ball drops it is really only 11:00pm in Texas yet we jump up yell “Happy New Year!” kiss and then promptly go to bed at 11:15. Glamorous indeed.
Birchbox sounds very similar to the Beauty Test Tube program (http://testtube.newbeauty.com/) that I did for a year except BTT is quarterly. I got some GREAT samples through that and it was always so exciting when the tube arrived. It’s a fun way to try different products. I’m heading over to Birchbox now to sign myself up………yippee!! Thanks for sharing! =)
I’ve been waiting a little over a month too for an invite to Pinterest and still nothing. I started to think I mis-entered my email addy. Could you send me an invite too please. Thanks so much. I love reading your blog because I’m from Pittsburgh too. It is nice to know that when you mention products you found at the store they will actually be in “my” store too. Since tomorrow is my day offf I will be heading over to TJ to buy one of those cookie butters…or maybe two so I don’t have to share with the hubby.
Yesss to the Birchbox! I just got hooked on it, and did a whole rundown of my first month of goodies:
http://thepeachandthepit.com/2011/11/28/my-first-birchbox/
okay, seriously, I can’t come on your blog without needing to buy something after I read your “Tuesday Things” posts. These are going on my list of “things I must buy eventually”, along with that blueberry balsamic vinegar and that lip balm stuff from a previous post. I’m lucky/surprised I’m not in the poor house yet…..
And I know I may be a little late on the bandwagon, but I finally found Nutella after a very long time of searching and OMG! I’m seriously addicted. I could easily plop my butt down in front of the tv, get a spoon, and eat the whole jar myself.
ALSO – TJs is now selling Chocolate Covered Potato Chips. Reeee-diculous.
Now you’ve been warned.
seriously?! I LOVE chocolate covered potato chips. They’re so hard to find. I can eat them by the bagfulls now!!!
And I just HAD to click on the birch box link. Now I want one! Crazy how the internet can suck you in.
So I bought the damn speculoos butter at TJ’s yesterday after demolishing a jar of the Lotus brand spread in four days, and the jar is already a quarter gone. f.m.l. Oh, and now I’m obsessed with the idea of birchbox… And I wonder how I end up broke every month?
I also made the same mistake with vanilla bean paste once – ouch. How can something that makes cookies so delicious taste so bad by itself?!
I MUST find that Cookie Butter. Imagine the possibilities of what one could make with that. It might not make it home to the pantry, but I’d like to try!
Ok, I seriously drool over all your Trader Joes pictures. I live in Canada and have none near me…I think the closest is like a 12 hr drive!!! I think we should secretly set up a paypal account so I can send you money and you send me Trader Joe stuff :)
I LOVE THAT DRESS. . . You should Definitely Sport it on New Years!!
I am so jealous of you Americans and your Trader Joes. COOKIE BUTTER?! Come on, Canada, catch up.
That dress is $2,796.50 at 30% off! Ridiculous! CCK just posted a recipe for making your own cookie butter. http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/ I cannot buy those nut butters because they become dinner. They never get to be married with jam, smeared on toast, or drizzled on muffin tops. Nope they get devoured by the spoon/finger full. Every time.
Cookie butter. It ruined my life. I spend all of my time trying to find new things to dip in it.
I recently learned about Birchbox from pinterest also. I have been tempted but until I read all the fab reviews in these posts, I wasn’t sure if I should partake. I love the idea of a gift subscription.
You are evil. I bought the Cocoa Almond spread from TJ’s on Friday. It’s gone now.
Birchbox is awesome I definatly recommend it but also check out myglam.com they both send monthly samples for 10 bucks a month! they are awesome!
