Tuesday Things.
1. It’s that time of year again… Kate Spade sample sale! Love yourself.
2. Don’t listen to what anyone else tells you about #1. I give you permission. That’s all that matters.
3. It’s rare that I don’t finish books I begin reading, but after grabbing this one I can say that five pages in I wanted to quit, and now 158 pages in I am for sure quitting. Can’t even take it. This hasn’t happened in YEARS.
4. This is my new favorite breakfast! English muffins, eggs, roasted red peppers and fresh mozzarella.
Actually, that’s sort of a lie. I totally forgot about it until I was looking through my iPhone today. But I assure you that starting tomorrow? It will definitely be my new favorite breakfast.
5. Two weekends ago, while eating at BRGR, my husband had a burger… truffle fries… crack chips… and a giant milkshake after multiple {alcoholic} drinks. He then decided he was still hungry and ordered another shake… but before bringing it to him, they came out to “confirm” the order because WHO ORDERS ANOTHER SHAKE after all of that food?!
6. He does.
7. Kristan was killing me this weekend. But ummm… someone should tell her that Ryan G is mine. AWKWARD.
8. I went to “buy a new hairbrush” at Ulta this weekend and came home $150 poor. They really need to stop stealing my money.
9. I’m fairly certain that I’m moving to a different state based on their unseasonable availability of strawberries. We’re going through massive Sam’s Club-sized bags at least once a week. And that doesn’t count the day when I opened up the freezer and they all spilled onto the floor.
10. I ate them anyway. Frozen stuff is like… frozen from all diseases and dirt.
11. You know… I think heaven is made up of people who wash your hair and give you scalp massages while doing so. Like for all of eternity.

I got my first invite to the Kate Spade sample sale. Of course it would be right between pay days! Boo!
weren’t those “hey girls” hilarious. funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time buuuuuut well he’s mine. Ryan, ya, all mine.
I love reading your Tuesday Things posts! Thank You!! :) Oh, and One Day totally surprised me. I didn’t see the movie or even know about it until I was reading it. The first 50 pages were so long… I almost gave in too, I am glad I didn’t though….. The book changed my life. :) xoxo
love all your rants and i mean that in the most endearing way!!!! how come you are pimpin us for votes for all these other bloggers. I would totally vote for you and your incredible recipes.
i never read One Day but i made the mistake of renting the movie. even with wine it was unbearably long.
That book is really bad. The premise sounded so good too! I was disgusted when I found out they made it into a movie. Just buy purses instead-a much better use of time!
uhhh why would you show us that kate spade website! i want them ALL!
i’ve never heard of a restaurant “confirming” a guests 2nd dessert…but then again i don’t think I’ve ever seen a guest order a second dessert! that is hilarious.!
ulta is a bad, bad place
Then I want to go to heaven today. I could really use a hair wash/scalp massage.
I also ate some frozen edamame that had fallen on the floor yesterday. I like your rules and I’m going to apply them allll to my life.
OMG…One Day…made myself finish the movie..could NOT have finished the book…bless you for continuing to try lol
You already know how I feel about #1 :)
I HATE seeing strawberries from everyone else so early. We don’t get good ones until at least June – so sad. I should stockpile them when they’re fresh… or just cave and buy frozen.
truffle fries… crack chips = that sounds good right about now!
And Kristan’s cookies had me going ga-ga, too!
Ulta, BB&Beyond, Target…yeah, they steal my money too!
What was so bad about the book?! We must know!
Anytime I see a Ryan Gosling “Hey Girl” thing, I die. Also–have you seen the new show on vh1 “Stevie TV”? She has a bit called “A special momet with Ryan Gosling” and it’s pretty much that “Hey Girl” stuff, but….not a picture. A real, moving, speaking, thing. I died. You’ll die. Find it.
did you realllllly need to post that kate spade link? really?! my wardrobe thanks you, my wallet does not.
oh no, don’t give up on ‘one day’ yet! i thought the same thing, and was so happy i stuck with it. it really is a great story.
I had a tough time with that book too! I wanted so badly to be into it based upon the description! But, I pushed on and let me tell you, after painstakingly finishing it, it wasn’t worth it. Stop reading ASAP!
This post just made me laugh out loud… at work. These are great! Your new breakfast recipe looks amazing and like you, Ulta steals my money quite frequently. Keep up the great blogging!
Jess C.
Just bought a new Kate bag on the sale today…can’t wait to get it!!!
Which one did you get!
One of the baby bags–not as exciting as a “for me” hand bag but need one and have hated almost ever diaper bag I’ve ever seen!
Thanks to you, I think Kristan is my new favourite. After you, of course.
Also, Ryan Gosling is Canadian and therefore, I probably definitely have some claim to him. Double triple awkward…
I am trying to read this book too- I haven’t even made it as far as you and I’m considering quitting!
hahaha #4 and 11 cracked me up! You’re too cute, Jess. :P And how interesting! I’ve actually not heard much about that book One Day, but I see it evvvverywhere….and it looks like it’d be good! But possibly not, it seems!
LOVE kate spade! just went to the eye doctor yesterday and i picked out some new kate spade frames too!
I love you so much for the sample sale heads-up. I won’t tell you which ones I got…. but I will say that I’m feeling a bit “wild” today!!
“Frozen stuff is like… frozen from all diseases and dirt.” SO TRUE & the motto to my life pretty much. i’ll eat anything off the floor. haters gonna hate.
Kate Spade Sample Sale? AHHH!!! I want that ice Vanston Dylan bag like nobody’s business! Damn, damn damn!! I’m trying to mentally calculate how much of my tax return can be sacrificed for that baby.
What’s wrong with One Day?! Didn’t enjoy it, or just couldn’t stop bawling?
I’m putting off watching the film because I’m afraid Anne Hathaway’s horrendous Yorkshire accent might make me hate her a little bit…
jinx on the accent thing. I shuddered every time the commercial came on.
I got through One Day…and I’m glad I did, actually. it helped if I did NOT picture Anne Hathaway at all or hear her crappy Scottish accent in my head while doing so.
Ha ha ha, I’ve just looked at THIS book and I can say that I had finished it. It’d taken about one week but it was really exhausting. I was very anxious when they met and met again. But I had a method – I had anther book which I’d been craving for. And I had “One day” from my friend, who wanted me to take it back in one-week time ;) If it would be my own book, I would have never finished it ;P
#2… HOW DO YOU KNOW MY LIFE?? OK, I’m going to my shopping cart. Thank you!
I read that book. It wasn’t so good. I thought about quitting many times, too. You may as well. I haven’t seen the movie–wonder if it’s any better–not that I will ever find out. I LOVE getting my hair washed with scalp massages. Best. thing. ever.!!
I wish I had a Kate Spade budget! I bought a purse from a sample sale last year and I LOVE it! So cool. I feel your pain on the strawberry front! Happy Tuesday!
If the book was half as bad as the movie trailer, I don’t blame you for one moment. What ever possessed you to buy it?
The book is good! But it does take a while, and honestly if I didn’t have the same rule about finishing books, I probably would have quit too. Stick it out! The movie on the other hand, is a n.i.g.h.t.m.a.r.e I’m not sure why my bff Anne Hathaway did this to me, but I haven’t forgiven her yet.
I’m with ya on the frozen food on the floor thing. I ate frozen blueberries that fell on the floor this morning. Lol
I love that breakfast sandwich! Try adding basil pesto mayo and spinach. And dream off to the Mediterranean…
I finished One Day and threw it across the room when I was done with it. Horrible :(
give.me.that.breakfast.NOW.
I’m not shocked about One Day. It was a good read but the ending was lame and ruined it for me. You’re probably better off stopping now…or just renting the movie so you can watch Jim Sturgess :)
What a delicious looking breakfast! I;m sure it really will become your new favorite breakfast :). I’ve been on kinda similar kick – English Muffin with Aged Cheddar with an Egg. Love your Tuesday things because you always make smile :)
This is too funny…I knew what book it was going to be before I clicked the link!! I am on page 198 and just emailed my best friend telling her I give up. It is AWFUL. Not a single substantial event has happened, there is no romance, and no surprises. I have never quit a book this far in, but seriously… I QUIT!!!!! Ugh i wasted hours on that horrible book haha
One Day upset me so much! I ended up getting very invested in the characters about 100 pages in. I was in absolute shock at the end and just cried. You’ll need a scalp massage to recover.
hahaha I’m also Ryan G obsessed. He’s heaven.
I tried to watch the movie version of the book you talk about it #3, and I couldn’t make it through either. I fell asleep about 30 minutes in, so I’d say your 158 pages is pretty good.
I finished “One Day”. I really enjoyed it for the first few chapters, and then it just went downhill from there. The ending is AWFUL, so maybe I should’ve stopped instead of making myself finish it. Oh well. On to better books (like The Hunger Games!).
I just went to Ulta for the first time in about a year and had some serious shopping anxiety. The store is just so bright and inviting. I wanted to buy just about everything.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who painfully slogged their way through One Day … awful.
Your hilarious! Thanks for the permission, I’m going to stop by the Kate Spade sample sale!
ahhhhh that egg muffin thing looks delish…love it! When I lived in Cali, I could stop home on the way from school and pick up strawberries at the stand on the side of the road…sometimes the little ladies would let me pick the strawberries with them. Nothing better than a fresh strawberry…maybe with some whip cream too!
Completely agree with you on One Day! I spent half this past summer reading it and I’m still only 2/3 of the way done. I have no interest in ever finishing it.
That breakfast sandwich looks amazing! My favorite for a while was a breakfast sandwich made of egg, spinach and feta cheese. YUM! I had it everyday straight for almost two weeks!
