September Favorites: Beauty.
My favorite makeup time of year is finally here!
Even thought I love some ice cream pastels in the spring and some neon, well… always, fall makeup is by far my fave. I haven’t bit the bullet yet and purchased any new fall makeup (aside from nail polish), because I always like to wait a little and see what kind of holiday gift sets come out from some of the cosmetic lines that I love. I’m also waiting to purchase any new high-end things because in November (I think?), Sephora always has their VIB friends + family sale which is 30% off of EVERYTHING. I want to go crazy.
Because of that, there are a ton of repeats here buuut – it’s what I’m using. These are the things I have grabbed all month and have been partial to, ignoring the majority of my obnoxious and way-to-large makeup stash. Just freaking love makeup so much. It’s like art on your FACE!
So anyhoo.
Nail polish loves. These four colors have been on my nails this month and the third shade on my toes for over three weeks. Which is unheard of since I have nail polish ADD. The two essie shades in the center are new for fall: for the twill of it and cashmere bathrobe. The two loreal shades on the outside have been around (at least I think so?): because you’re worth it and never lacque-ing. I especially love the latter because it runs slightly cool toned so it doesn’t look like my hands are dead when I wear it. Almost a slight purple hue or something? But still really neutral. Love them.
They’ve taken up permanent residence on my dining room table which isn’t weird at all.
Lips lips.
First up, what’s your favorite fall lip color? Even though I love bright berry shades and even darker shades, I don’t wear them too often because I tend to be obsessive about wearing too much colorful eye shadow or playing up my eyes. And apparently doing both is a big no no. So I stick to a lot of my favorite lighter pink shades that I’ve mentioned in previous months, but wanted to mention two fall loves that I dug out last week.
The first MAC lipglass is called decorative, and I bought it last fall when I was talked into buying MAC cyber lipstick. Oh man – cyber is DARK. I am so pale and when I wear it, I look completely vampy. I actually love it and it looks incredible on darker skin, but last year I could only manage it with this gloss over top. So far this year, I’ve been wearing the gloss on it’s own and I really like it. I even tried to get some swatches for you this time, as pathetic as they may be.
The second shade is revlon lipbutter in lollipop. This was one of the first lip butters I bought either last year or the year before. While I don’t reach for it all the time since it’s sheer, this past week I’ve absolutely LOVED wearing it. I think it’s the perfect shade right now – you know, it’s-fall-but-still-hot-as-heck-outside-sometimes.
Still on the lip train, I don’t know if I ever mentioned my love for MOX botanticals lip butter but I know that I’ve pimped it out on instagram. This was the only thing that I’ve ever discovered from birchbox that I’m insanely nuts over. Last year I got the pomegranate one in the box, promptly used it up and ordered this coconut almondine. The tub below is actually empty and I am about to purchase another one.
This is soooo smooth and buttery. I am very particular about lip balm since in general my skin is dry. The only other balms I truly love and repurchase over and over are burt’s bee’s (in original and grapefruit) and dior creme de rose (what I used at night before bed). I’ve had mini love affairs with other balms but they’ve never stuck with me like these three.
This stuff is awesome.
No surprise – I think I’ve only mentioned this like four months in a row.
I’m thinking this will be the last month I will be able to use the dr. jart BB cream because last winter, it was too dark for me. I still have a bit of color leftover from summer right now. I just love this stuff so much. I can never even feel it on my skin. Earlier this month I did use foundation for a photo shoot since I needed something without SPF and it just felt so… heavy. I know I’ve talked about how I’ve never been a foundation person, but this product has made me even less of one. I wish it came in a lighter shade.
I’m also back to using the MAC radiant rose concealer everyday. I’m still getting some use out of my MAC prolongwear, but it is definitely drying under my eyes so I switch back and forth.
Speaking of dry under eyes, I’ve also been back to slathering on my kiehls avocado eye cream every night. I raved about this stuff years ago and just adore it because it’s so simple and moisturizing. It doesn’t do anything crazy like tighter or reduce lines or whatever – it just gives you so.much.moisture. It lasts forever. Many times I also use the teeniest drop under my concealer, but I usually like to use something with SPF for that.
Time for a marathon of eye things.
First, the nars eyeshadow primer. This is the same tube I told you about a few months ago, and it’s actually gone. I’ve kept it around trying to suck the last bit up because I love it so much. However, it’s definitely a love/hate product for me. I’ve decided that I actually love it more than the urban decay primer. I think it works better and creates a nicer base. But the packaging still, for lack of a better word, sucks. It’s such a waste. I can’t get anything out of it and I’m ready to cut the tube open with scissors. I hate wasting product. Why can’t this come in a squeeze tube. ?!?!
It saddens me to say that I haven’t really done any smoky eyes this month, just because I was swamped with work and basically a prisoner in my home. But something I’ve absolutely been loving is the MAC prolongwear paint pot in stormy pink. I’ve used the shade painterly for years, but it’s so nuetral. I don’t see the need to have tons of cream shadows because I really love using a bunch of eye colors at once, but this one is awesome. It also fits in with my love of all things purple. I’ve used it as a base AND on it’s own.
The second shade is urban decay sellout which I’ve talked about all year. I’ve used this shade for years – just all over the lid. It’s been a go-to of mine for-ev-ER. Sandlot style.
I also have thrown in at the very top one of my favorite MAC shades, steamy. It’s a gorgeous green.
Ugh. Now on to the mascara dilemma.
Last month I shared the longest mascara rant ever to exist in the universe. I’m still feeling the same way. However, for the past few weeks I have swamped out the maybelline rocket for my tried and true loreal voluminous. I still don’t wear benefit they’re real on it’s own and it’s still a huge pain to work with if I get just a TOUCH too much product on my lashes. But if I somehow get the magically correct amount? In love.
Fiiiiiiiinally – liners and stuff.
Last month I told you about this smashbox shadowstick and I’m still nuts over it. Love the shade, love the staying power, love it all.
Also used my urban decay mushroom a bunch this month – it’s my current favorite 24/7 liner and I probably own 15 of them.
I’ve used some brown liner this month too – the loreal voluminous smoldering. I used it on top of the MAC cream shadow up above and love it. For as many urban decay liners as I have (which does include some browns), I don’t have one this dark brown and matte. Nice changeup.
Back on board consistently with my tarte exposed blush. UGH! This color. It’s just so perfect – so natural but lighty pink too. And can we just have a moment and stare in disbelief at how long these things last? It looks like I haven’t made a dent it in and while I know I love to change up blushes, this is definitely my most used. It travels with me everywhere and is 100% reliable in color. For me, it’s just the perfect fall shade because it’s neutral enough that I can go crazy with eye color or lip color.
An oldie but goodie – the mint julep mask.
I’m mentioning this because while I’ve used it once every two weeks or so for forever, my husband has been using it all month! He has used it once or twice a week and loves it. It’s so funny. I had it on one night and he’s like, I’m going to try this. So now we do it together and it’s a riot.
You probably have to be there.
In gross news, I feel like this stuff sucks everything out of my pores. I mean, I’ve always thought that but now that somebody else is using it in my presence, he keeps saying the same thing. It’s crazy.
As for hair care, I’m still genuinely in love with ALL of my macadamia products. The oil on the left is something I put on my ends almost every day. Just a little bit. That bottle is the third or fourth that I’ve gone through. BUT! That was when my hair was almost down to my ass (seriously) and this past week, I got about six inches cut off. It’s still past my shoulders (that’s how ridiculously long it was) but it just needed it so badly. It was so long that it wouldn’t hold any curl or volume and I’d never had that problem before. Now, it’s like body central. So voluminous again.
I bought this unite shine mist at my hairdresser earlier this week and I’ve only used it three times, but I really like it. It doesn’t weigh down my hair at all. I’ve had a bunch of unite stuff before (have used the expanda on my roots and lazer straight for years) since he carries that line and enjoy it – mostly styling products. I’ve tried other shine products before and have never liked any. Hoping this sticks!
Hmmm, what else. I’m still using the kenra blow dry spray every time I dry my hair. Seriously cuts the drying time in HALF. Still use the batiste dry shampoo a few times per week. And like I said above, every macadamia product I’ve talked about this year is still in my hair care routine.
I’m still loving the black marc jacobs liner I mentioned last month. Still use the josie maran moisturizer in the day and the korres moisturizer at night. Still constantly use my too faced chocolate soleil bronzer, the tarte brush, the MAC cleanse off oil and the moth pressed pigment. Almost finished up with my josie maran whipped body butter and will be immediately repurchasing – gah, love. And my urban decay naked 2, naked basics and lorac pro palette are always sitting out when I do my makeup, and I almost always grab a little color from one of them.
There are a bunch of things I want to get for fall, like the new nars eye paints, those crazy deborah lippman glitters and the urban decay vice 2 palette. I’m thinking of putting together a little fall wish list with the beauty, fashion and food items I’m craving. Thoughts?
K. That’s all for now. Talk to me about makeup! What fall things are you loving? Have you tried anything new? Set bad examples.

Ah love all the things!! Those macadamia products ARE amazing.
I’m still loving the TJ’s coconut body butter – don’t care if it’s summery I’m gonna wear it into fall!!
Love this Jordana eyeshadow pencil in Continuous Almond. Perfect creamy matte neutral and makes a great eyeshadow base. Love theBalm Instain blush in Houndstooth it’s such a pretty dark dusty rose. And Revlon just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in crush is my current favorite berry color for fall!
Ugh so many things I love right now. Yay fall!!
Oh! And love the mint julep mask of course. My fiancé has worn it with me a few times and likes it too! I have pictures to prove it but they are forbidden from being posted online haha.
I, too, have a problem with lipstick because I like eye shadow a little too much. I’ve tried putting my lipstick on before I do my eye shadow, and it does encourage me to take it easy on the eyes. :)
You NEED the Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette. Seriously. Just got mine on Friday and I am in love!
I was wondering when we’d get the next makeup post! I’ve been really into eyeshadow sticks and the NYX shadow roll-ons. It’s so easy and comes in great shades! Also, I’ve recently discovered the Aztec clay mask (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0014P8L9W) and highly recommend it! I used to use the mint julep mask all the time but I like this one better
YES to a wishlist, please.
My bff/hairstylist gifted me some of that Kenra blowdry spray, and I love it! plus it smells great. I use a flat iron a lot (I have a Chi that I love) and have been using Catwalk Sllek Mystique Haute Iron Spray…it keeps my curly hair frizz free and sleek most days…depending on humidity…plus it protects.
I also picked up that avocado eye cream upon your rec and I love it, too!
I know you don’t love Buxom glosses, but I got the cream gloss in Mudlslide and it is so crazy perfect. It’s neutral and basically a natural lip color, but glossy and slightly plumping. I also picked up the color Kir Royal in a minis set and love it as well. Deep and berry colored, but a bit sheer.
I am totally going to check out that mint julep mask.
If you are in love with liquid liner, you HAVE to try Bobbi Brown’s Long Wear Gel Liner. I am also fair skinned (but blonde/blue eyes), so your color matches may be different than mine. I use the Granite Ink (not shimmer, but they have that too since I know you love sparkle), and it goes on with an eyeliner brush. They make one, but I’m sure a MAC brush would be just fine.
It is my most favorite, desert island, never-want-to-live-without-it type of product. I’ve been using it about 8 years and still am so in love. The magic of it is that it stays on so well, but isn’t waterproof (not my thing). And it doesn’t look as harsh as a black liquid liner can sometimes look on fair skinned people. It just looks awesome and will give you the best cat eye of your life.

always look forward to these.
First, the tarte blush. I got that after you recommended it months ago, and I can’t even tell you how in love I am. I have two little boys, and running around, rolling on the floor, t he kisses and hugs all day…no other blush has EVER lasted all day for me, It flakes off. This stuff lasts. and you’re right, it’s so beautiful. I am in love, love!
second, the mint julep masks, been lovin that for years too, but my husband has done it with me before too lol and he says the same thing, our skin is just SO soft and clean after. love it.
I recently bought the josie maran body butter after going back and forth for months (bc of the price for lotion!) but I am SO glad I finally gave in. I smell like a lollipop, in the best way. I just want to lick my skin, omg, Im smelling my arm as I type this. creepy, I know.
As far as recent favorites? Erase paste for my ridiculous under eye circles. Can’t even handle those dark, hollow things. but that stuff covers them right up. And It’s a 10, plus keratin for my hair. I have super wavy/curly hair that can get really unruly and frizzy, and this product is a miracle worker for it. I feel like Ive tried everything for my hair type, and Im finally in love with one!
Done babbling, thanks for all the tips! And YES, do the wishlist! :)
LOVE these posts! Would it be crazy or too much to ask to request some pics of what some of this makeup looks like on? Some selfies featuring your fave makeup? I’m already addicted to your instagram, but just a thought :)
I’ve been thinking the same thing! Glad you asked
I really like the Bare Minerals mascara Lash Domination, it totally makes your eyes pop and its easy to get off.
I love Lash Domination!!! I’m so mad Sephora gave me a sample of that stuff because now I have to go purchase an $18 mascara!
That avocado eye cream looks amazing – I’m definitely going to pick some up!
Out of all of the amazing things you post throughout the month, these posts are still my favorite.
Oh, and I am with you on the Benefit They’re Real mascara; that stuff is a trainwreck on its own.
I feel like I’ve been seeing a bunch of Kiehls products recommended lately around the beauty sphere. I’m definitely going to have to check them out. Also, that Loreal liner. Need to pick one up. I’m so glad you mentioned that Sephora sale, because that totally does happen, so now I’m going to wait and try not to buy and beauty products in October until that starts so I can splurge on some products I really want. That’s going to be so hard, but I need to make myself do it. A month without beauty purchases!

it’s totally worth it! :)
Holy information overload! :)
There’s lots of things in here I’ll be trying out — thanks for the recommendations!
I’ve been loving MAC Viva Glam III. It’s a rich raisin color and provides a really stunning, vampy lip!
I love Tarte blush too! Mine is in dollface, and it’s such a perfect pink on me. i was afraid it would be too much (because I’m ridiculously pale), but I tried it (so glad I did!) and I just love it. :-)
If you’re looking for another face product for fairer skin, you need to try Juice Beauty’s CC Cream. http://www.juicebeauty.com/store/collections/makeup/complexion/stem-cellular-cc-cream.html
I got the Dr. Jart in my Birchbox & I like that one, too, but I have pretty fair skin & absolutely love the the Juice in Natural Glow. I have NEVER liked putting makeup on my face, but both the Dr. Jart & Juice feel like nothing on your skin. I think Juice’s has actually improved the look of my skin, so it has that going for it!
this is awesome – thanks!
Love the fall nail polishes! Have you tried Too Faced Shadow Insurance? It is my favorite primer. Works better than UD, in my opinion, and comes in a squeeze tube. I’ve had the same one for over a year. . I always think I’ve run out, but there’s always some left in the tube. I have oily eyelids and it keeps my shadows in place all day. Love it!
i have not, but i think i have a sample. i will def try it out!
cashmere bathrobe looks amazing, I recently bought one called over the edge which is very similar to this one xx
Martyna | NEON MIZZLE
Love these posts. 6 inches off your hair and still past your shoulders, yep, I’d say it was pretty long. I bet it feels so springy and bouncey now. I’ve been using Unite stuff on and off for 6 years and love the way it smells and works, but I do alternate it in and out. I have the Maca Nut line per your recommendation and I liked it lots til I used this new stuff call J. Beverly Hills. It’s an obscure line and you’ll have to order it but it is, without a doubt, the best shampoo/cond I have ever, ever ever tried. I dont say that lightly b/c I am a product wh*re and have spent a small forture (or large fortune) on products over the years. I am in love with the stuff. Their Platinum line is what I use. Softest, shinest, least breakage I’ve ever had with my hair. Ok done now :)
All your Mac finds and all these colors, ahhh, I need to get out more so I can wear makeup. My cookie photo shoots don’t seem to care if I have any on or not. Lol
I LOVE these posts and would really enjoy a post on what you’re craving, too! I’m such a skeptic and love to hear what others have to say about beauty products and the like. A current favorite of mine is Vinylux by CND. CND makes shellac nail prducts, but vinylux doesn’t have to be cured by a LED light! You only need two coats of color and one of the top coat. In my opinion, it comes off easier than regular polish and dries in a fraction of the time. And although you claim to have plish ADD, it lasts for well over a week looking fabulous! My go-to shade is powder my nose, but I’ve tried half a dozen other colors and looove, love love them too!
I think we’re beauty opposites! I tend to go somewhat tame on my eyes and I let lipstick make the most impact. I think it partly has to do with laziness because it’s easier to swipe on a lipstick (for me).
I reealllly love Milani lipsticks. They smell slightly funny but they have beautiful colors and they’re really well pigmented.
i love them too!
It cracks me up that you use the Mint Julep mask; I have it too and I always keep it hidden in my bathroom cabinet lol I don’t know why, I guess because it’s not name brand?
Went to Ulta today and loved the Urban Decay flushed compact, it has great bronzer, blush and highlighter. And I got a Clean perfume sampler from Luvocracy.com (check it out if you haven’t already!) and I am OBSESSED with two of the scents, Warm Skin and First Blush. OBSESSED!!!! Want them to be my new signature scent, but will feel strange telling anyone who asks that I’m wearing “Warm Skin” – sounds creepy right?!
I first tried the TJ’s coconut body butter because of one of these posts earlier in the year. At first I wasn’t impressed but continued to use it since I had purchased it. About halfway through the container I realized just how amazing this stuff is and I just purchased another one for the third time this week! While I was checking out, the cashier gave me the heads up that there’s a PUMPKIN BODY BUTTER coming for the fall! Dying! If you need me, I will be stalking TJ’s every other day for the next few weeks.
WHAT!!
The pumpkin butter has landed! I picked up two just in case I like it and they sell out.
A wish list would be really fun to see! Also might be fun to occasionally show is your hauls when you binge shop for a bunch of products during a sale or something. I also enjoy seeing candle favorites or little decor items if you ever have super faves of those kinda of things. I love your favorites post. I wish they could be every day!
i’ll def keep that in mind – thanks!
Have you seen The Spatty? It’s like a mini spatula for your makeup. It’ll get every last bit out! http://www.thespatty.com
I am also obsessed with Dr Jart’s BB cream!! The premium is too dark for my skin in the winter as well, but their black label is perfect and has the same feel and benefits. You should give it a try! (Sephora sells a travel size online if you don’t want to invest in a whole tube.)
Oh my god where did september go?! This post already!? Okay welllllll I love ipsy! It’s my favorite for discovering new beauty products. It’s 10 dollars a month for 5 full size or deluxe sample size products. I just love it. So much. http://www.ipsy.com/?refer=u-hfyqlojtwj5f34h
A beauty product I became obsessed with this month was cleansing oil!! I got the Bare Face cleansing oil through Julep, and I absolutely LOVE it. It takes off ALL my makeup, even my Benefit They’re Real Mascara, so easily. It was part of my monthly Maven box. That program is 20 dollars a month, but you can skip a month without being charged whenever you want! I’m so glad I didn’t skip September though, because that cleansing oil is a miracle. If you sign up,you can get your first box for free by entering the code “freebox” after following this link! http://www.julep.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/184696/
Hi…I use ALOT of avon products(best girlfriend sales it so naturally u know the code of friendship..I buy) they have this wonderful face cream I LOVEEE Avon moisture boost…it feels like your skin is getting a big drink of water..and since I believe glitter should have its own law….I use glimmerstickb in any glittery color I have they also have a eyeshadow pencil called extra lasting….I use it as an eyeliner and of course it has glitter(see the theme) for mascara I change back and forth (I am horder of all things) currently I am using super extend extreme…..:-) lips I wear a cherry red and oh it’s sexy but you can only wear it worth mascara and black glitter eyeliner. (of course). I AM IN LOVE WITH THE COLOR PURPLE..so I have glitter,wet/dry(this gives insane definition) I do have other colors in my pallet and use them but, purple makes me happy.
I love shine sprays! My hair always looks really weighed down and oily with serums, but sprays are the best thing ever! Have you tried Kenra’s Shine Spray? I had my hair blown out for an event once, and the woman used it. I’ve never used anything else since then.
i haven’t! i love everything kenra though, so i should.
Have you tried COOLWAY? I got mine at ULTA,was using it as a heat protection … wasn’t impressed. Then I decided to use it the correct way with a round brush and blowdryer.. WOW!! LOVE IT!!
i haven’t! i will check it out.
Jessica,
I always look forward to your “Currently Crushing On” posts and this makeup did’t disappoint!
I have Dr. Jart BB cream, but I’ve been a little disappointed. Do You apply by hand of with a brush or sponge? I’ve been using my fingers, so maybe that’s the problem.
Birchbox versus Ipsy. I’ve tried both, but I seem to find that the stuff from Ipsy tends to be more my thing. I let my Birchbox go, but maybe I acted too soon. Sounds like you’e had a great haul!
My favorite primer is either Urban Dcday OR Philosophy’s “The Present.” In fact, I love all things Philosophy, my favorite skin care products ever! I use the daily face wash, exfoliating cleanser, and most recently their Matte Mask/Cleanser. My skin has never looked so good!’
Lastly, cat eyes. I have trouble finding a liner to do this well. Of course, the problem could be me. From liquid, gel, pencil, powder….I just can’t seem to get this to work like it should. It gets into my eye crinkles and just looks terrible.
You’ve made some fantastic recommendations! Thank so much for putting this list together. I’m going to add a few things to my own fall makeup shopping list. Happy Shopping!
i usually apply the BB cream with my hands – i don’t use the beauty blender because it is water based, so they sponge tends to suck up some of the product. do you find that it doesn’t give enough coverage? that’s the thing – i’ve never been a consistent foundation wearer. but if you have been, i could totally see if you didn’t think it was enough. it’s basically like a slightly more powerful tinted moisturizer!
no no – i loathe birchbox, i haven’t liked a thing for over a year! the MOX product was one i received last year and ended up purchasing, but since then, nothing. i do want to try ipsy but sometime feel overwhelmed with samples!
BB Cream – use a stippling brush (I use MAC duo fibre short, #130 but you could probably get a cheaper version). If you want a BB cream with more coverage you might want to try some of the asian brands (Hansen premium was decent for me coverage-wise). I also use a blender (not on brand – mine came from Ulta for like 4 dollars) to give that airbrushed look if I go a little overboard on the BB cream or I’m just being anal.
Cat eye – use a wet/dry powder (I use a MAC aubergine shade, can’t recall the name off hand) with an angled brush (I use MAC #266). Wet the brush, remove excess water with the back of your hand then grab some shadow. Test on the back of your hand to make sure its running liquid, if not just re-wet and repeat. I use two strokes, one for the corner to center (if I’m doing a full eye, for day I use a brown pencil on that half) and then repeat the wetting/shadow procedure and finish the eye. It does take some practice, but the angle brush and wet powder are the easiest platform to learn on. Its also the easiest to correct if something goes awry.
You should dry the Dr. Jart in the blue tube because it’s much lighter. It’s like a greyish white color… I know it sounds really freaky but it blends into the skin really well! i have a medium olive skin tone and I love it. At first I hated it and thought it looked like i had a grey mask on, but then i learned that you literally only need half a pea size for your whole face/neck. I usually end up putting powder or bronzer over it but it’s got the greatest coverage from a BB cream! def recommend as a version for the winter months!
so does it blend to match your skin tone then?? i usually have to use the lightest shade in any foundation/moisturizer because i am so pale!
yes for sure, that’s why you can’t use too much because it’s pretty thick, so a tiny dab goes a really long way even on bad break out days. I use the Real Techniques buffing brush and it blends with my skin like a dream!
And it’s literally like a white/grey… so for really pale it’s even better! but i’m darker and love it so it definitely adjusts to your skin tone.
So Costco has a new eye shadow palette by Pati Dubroff – the Perfect Palette. http://www.costco.com/Pati-Dubroff-Perfect-Palette-Professional-Neutral-Eye-Palette.product.100057280.html It is only $18 or something like that and comes with an automatic eyeliner I could take or leave. The shadows, however, are spectacular. They are all neutral and have a good range of metallics, all with very dense pigments. AMAZING VALUE! A great alternative to the $50 Urban Decay Naked Palettes.
I’ve also fallen in love with the Nars Velvet Gloss Lip Pencils. I live in Happy Days right now, but when I want something a bit more dramatic, I layer it over the Nars Heat Wave lipstick.
Yes to putting together wish lists! Also, I think I saw somewhere on YouTube that you can take pliers to the NARS shadow base to squeeze the rest of it out into a little sample jar or something. Good luck! I’ve been loving the Sephora jumbo eyeliners, the L’oreal LaLaque lipstick in 411, and the Jouer matte moisture tint. As for lips, NYX butter gloss in maple blondie, and MAC lipgloss in liquer. LOVE these makeup posts of yours–i always look forward to them!
I really like Unite products. My salon sells it too. I couldn’t live without my 7 seconds conditioner and session whip. Amazing Volume. I am interested to hear more about the Deborah Lippmann glitters… I received a sample of “rich girl” and fell in love with it.
I would love to see more of your wish list.
I also have the creamy eye treatment from kiehl’s and I love it! I’ve been using tons of it lately since the weather has gotten cooler and my skin is starting to dry out majorly.
I just got the Urban Decay Nakeds 2 and I LOVE it. I think I’m driving my husband crazy with the extra time it’s taking me to play and experiment. But he seems to appreciate the added effort!
I also just started using a BB cream. I got it at Whole Foods of all places. It’s by Andalou Naturals. It smells good and wasn’t horribly expensive. I was afraid to get something tinted for reasons you stated, but this one was available in an untinted version. I absolutely love it! It helps my powder foundation go on so well.
I just got the MAC “In Extreme Dimension-3D Black Lash” Mascara, and oh my goodness my lashes have never been so long. You have to be super careful not to get too much product, but the wand is great. I have also been layering MAC lipglass in Viva Glam VI over creme cup lipstick and I think it is perfect for fall. It’s pretty subtle, but gorgeous.
LOVE the mint julep masque, I use it myself and the smell reminds me of something from my childhood. Not sure if it was toothpaste or those spearmint flavored “orange” slices. Just a tip, for your NARS primer, try adding a drop or two of water to the tube and SHAKE like crazy. Yes, it will make it a little thinner than normal, but it will loosen up a lot of what’s stuck in there. I do this with my concealor because I too hate wasting expensive makeup :)
I am so very thankful that I checked my email this morning & saw this post! Our local Kmart is going out of business & the makeup is on mad clearance! I got 2 different BB Cremes, tons of nail polish, and an amazing lip stick! Thank you so much!!
Wishlist, wishlist, wishlist!!!!!!
I’d love to see it. :)
I recently splurged at Sephora and treated myself to a Yves St. Laurent lipstick- I believe the color is Rose Dahlia. LOVE! And, the gold tube is so pretty :)
I have to have that lipglass! It is gorgeous! And I love the Kiehl’s eye treatment!
Wishlist… yes!!
I want the new STILA paint palettes for cheeks, eyes and lips! So cute! AND I want STILA “Dancing With The Stars” palettes… all 4 of them!
When I saw this … I thought of you. Know how you love Tarte blush, it’s a favorite of mine too. I’m so excited for all the holiday beauty kits. I can barely contain myself…especially after the Bobbi Brown preview email I got yesterday.

I love your sharing your beauty fav’s. I am obsessed with make up and mostly my eye makeup (I probably own every shade/pallet from UD) and I love getting new ideas on products to try (thank you:)
Anyways I am obsessed and IN LOVE with CHANEL Le Volume mascara. It is amazing and they have it in 4 diff colors if you like something a little more daring than Black like myself there are fun teal/green options. It does amazing things, its just like putting false eye lashes on. I started using it about a year ago and when I first started using it my girlfriend thought I went and got eyelash extension and fillers put in (yes it is that amazing) its a little pricey but worth every penny! (also just an FYI – Nordstrom has a mascara madness twice a year where you buy 2 mascara get 1 free, mix and match and I believe it should be in November) LOVE
I went out and bought the mint julep mask after seeing it on your blog and its my new favorite thing! Youre right…it gets everything out and my skin is so soft after. Thanks for all your great posts…I love this blog!
I saw you post about the coconut TJs body butter awhile back… did you know they have a pumpkin spice one right now?!?! (!!!!!)
I wrote to you probably 4 months ago about the Origins tinted moisturizer saying it was great, well i FINALLY tried Dr. Jart and OMG!! Dr. Jart is the Bomb.com seriously blows Origins out of the water, I’m so glad i listened to you and switched :)
Every month I look forward to reading your amazingly detail oriented beauty posts = LOVE! I have to say my favorite products ever are from Paula’s Choice – and did you know that her “Cosmetics Cop” company has Beautypedia – reviews of TONS of makeup from most brands. I think u would benefit from visiting it cuz the reviews are based on scientific research of the ingredients. Anyway since u are such a makeup junkie I think you would appreciate the Beautypedia site. Thanks for your great blog!
