Currently Crushing On – aug 1 2015
Oh hi! I’m adding a touch of rambly stuff to these weekend posts along with my favorite links. I know. Do you dread this? I already ramble all week, now more rambling. I’m going to tell you more about our weekends + life here, when applicable. Not tons. You can still find all that normal lifestyle stuff over on crumbs. We’ll see how it goes! Sooooo. We just got back from vacation where we took lots of video and hopefully, like, a quarter of it is salvageable. I’m hoping to show you!
I have another upcoming cooking demo/class at Crate, all about quick + easy meals as we head into a new season (um, NO, not allowed) on August 20. You get to EAT food while I make a fool out of myself (this usually happens, yes) and feel uncomfortable. A few spots are left and you can sign up on their website.
Later today and tomorrow my monthly favorites are coming. Noooo I didn’t forget about you. And yessss, more baby stuff too. Soon. I swear. When I find more time. HA. Funny. Not really. Do I need to hire a blog helper?!
As usual, you can follow our weekend adventures on instagram (currently: vaca overload), but if you’ve missed my blabbering it everywhere else, I’m snapchatting a bunch too. Snapchatting. A verb? Why. It’s horrifying but I can’t stop. It’s FUN. snapchat username = howsweeteats
Here’s the things I want to faceplant into this week. God I love the internets.
i still dream of my microwave nacho days.
this ice cream pie with a peanut butter rice krispie crust is making me feel too many things. how on earth is this real?
the universe needs to make half birthdays a thing – with a cinnamon sugar chocolate chip cake. (doing that today, for real.)
if i had any crafty bones in my body, these DIY graphic beach towels would be MADE. (i’m thinking a unicorn.)
have you had luxardo cherries? these homemade ones are happening.
this warm cabbage salad with cashew dressing makes me want to grow cabbage next year.
not than anyone is questioning my corn consumption, but i’m ready to take it up a notch with this charred corn with miso butter and bacon. seriously.
i saw this seared halloumi, cherry and peach salad on instagram while on vacation and have been craving it ever since. the freaking flavor.
another thing that is 100% coming out of my kitchen this weekend (sunday, perhaps, with WINE) is this roasted garlic and tomato pasta. LOOK AT THE CLOVES.
cold soups are something i desire about .054% of the time but this chilled cream of basil is a dream.
So what are you doing on this hothothot weekend?! Besides making margarita pops?

I will be your blog helper — and by blog helper I mean play with Max ??? I’ll be laying at the pool this weekend consuming those watermellon margarita popsicles!
I promise I will be saving you time soon! Really though. Prepare yourself for the world’s longest, most rambling email between now and tomorrow.
Also, love the new rambly stuff!
I think microwave nachos still have a place in grown-up life. Sometimes I make them on triscuits, but those scoops hold lots of stuff. So those cherries.. a pretty gift, but what does Luxardo liqueur taste like?
I’d really like to try those luxardo cherries.
Uhm, hello, I love the rambling. Loved today’s post because instead of the usual list, it had an added splash of your personality that we ALL love. I vote for keeping it this way. Also 700000000 votes for new Life with Max updates. Pleasepleaseplease. Summer in Las Vegas is usually crazy hot (like 110+ degrees) but today its CLOUDY and thunder-y and most likely going to rain. How rude is that????
I love it! You make me laugh and I really enjoy the weekend posts- usually gives me an idea for my sunday dessert!
*sidenote- lifestyle is misspelled in your first paragraph.
WE DO HALF BIRTHDAYS!!! My son’s birthday in December (a year and a couple of days earlier than Max’s?) and it bothers me that the holidays are so predominate his birthday month (I was terrified I would have him on Christmas). So we make him an ice cream cake loaf and buy him one gift on June 10th to celebrate his half birthday! Last year, he couldn’t eat cake but we did. This year, he got a Green toys he’s obsessed with. I also bought all his birthday decorations in June because when I looked last year for his first, I couldn’t find anything in December. Half Birthdays are so fun!!!!
Rambling is why I read. Love it and keep it coming!
I nominated you for a sisterhood of the world bloggers award! See the post on my blog. :)
This is my first ever HSE comment but I had to tell you I LOVED this change up! All in for more rambling. Don’t apologise, girl; we know who you are and that’s why we read.
Whatever and however you write, I’ll be here reading! :) Long format, short format, I’m in!
Also….I SO wish I could come to your demo/class!
Holy cow with these cookie pie and cakes you are featuring in this post. Gah this makes my summer slimdown goals so hard. But it’s all about balance right? Love these posts every single time :)
The Currently Crushing On posts are my favorite ever! Can you still post a ton of links like normal but with your rambling (because I like it too)
Also just a heads up some of the links don’t open a new window and take me away from your site.
Keep up the great work!
