Hiiii from my most favorite place ever! We are in Northern Michigan and I’m a little late with my weekly favorites due to spotty wifi, but I’m here, I’m here! There was so much goodness on the internet this past week, FYI.

I made the Peanut Butter Bundt cake the day I saw it posted. It is fantastic. Beautiful crumb, moist from brown sugar, and the frosting? I had to fight to keep from eating it all with a spoon (the leftovers WERE eaten with a spoon). I highly recommend it!! And now I’m contemplating the Blackberry buttermilk ice cream sandwiches….what a dream.

Hi there! Question for you- I saw your snap of some Kombucha tea. I bought a bottle to try last week, but hesitated when I saw that it said to consult your MD if pregnant or breastfeeding since I am currently nursing my daughter. I thought I remember you saying you are still nursing your son. Did you drink Kombucha tea while nursing? I’m dying to try it! Thanks!
hi mandee!! i am still nursing, and yes i drank (drink) it while pregnant and nursing! i have been drinking it for years, but i did ask my doctor (she said it was totally fine and also said things like high-quality sushi and pastuerized blue cheese were fine!) when i found out i was pregnant. the one i snapped tonight does have a lot of caffeine (for me), so I usually only have half a bottle at a time (once per day or every few days) – keep that in mind if your daughter is sensitive to caffeine. I usually only drink half a bottle at a time anyway because it’s so pricey!!
We just got back from our vacation in Escanaba MI….We LOVE it in the U P!! (we’ve gone up there the last 20 years!)

The peanut butter bundt cake is amazing. I love how she decorated it, and the fact that she called it peanut bundt-er. Lol!! Love.
I made tomato pie for the first time this summer, and it was worth all the effort of making pie crust and slicing tomatoes. My husband said he liked it better than pizza. That fresh tomato pie looks even better than the one I made (panko bread crumbs!), so I will definitely be trying that before the season ends.
While you’re there, pick up some Michigan Cherry flavored coffee beans! I’ve been making the best iced coffee with that and dark chocolate almond milk all summer! Food souvenirs are the best kind!
Try out Tilted Skillet in East Jordan if you have time. It’s super close to Boyne City (on South Arm of Lake Charlevoix) and I think the menu is right up your alley!
I’ll be in our favorite Michigan (Merchant Family) spot too as of Thursday 8/19. Maybe we’ll see each other “Stroll the Streets” Friday night.
