12 Days of Christmas! Day 9: Gingerbread Palooza, Q+A and a Giveaway! {CLOSED}
Yes, I made gingerbread with my little ginger.
If you guys have been reading my blog for a few years, you might remember that two years ago, the night before I had Max, I went to my parents’ house and we made a gingerbread house. I was in labor while doing it (but didn’t really know I was) and it’s sort of been a tradition ever since! The houses. Not the labor.
This year, my dad and I tried out the gingerbread village from Target. I loved it so much! It was so fun getting to decorate a few different mini houses.
Max and I also mixed up gingerbread dough to bake cookies dough. It’s chilling in the fridge and I can’t wait.
ALSO! I’m going to film a Q+A video this week, so ask whatever you want to ask in the comments, on instagram, on twitter or in an email! xo
Yesterday’s giveaway winner for the Madewell Tote is Stacy S who said “I’m grateful for the people that love me and my kids….without them, I don’t know where we would be.”
Congrats Stacy! Please email me at howsweeteats (at) gmail (dot) com with your mailing address!

This year it is just going to be me and my kids since my husband will be working out of state at the time. I’m pretty sure I’ll be the only one up until midnight, but I’ll have a little bit of champagne for company!!Â
This year I’m working on NYE. I work at a popular restaurant that does a 6 course dinner for New Years. It’s not so bad, though- our bosses are lovely and always make sure we get a taste, and pour us a toast for midnight while we do our cash outs!
It’s been a few years since I’ve gone out for New Year’s Eve, so im gonna try that again…even though I’m sure I’ll regret it ?
I always spend it at home – too many years of waiting tables means i have no interest in going out on big holidays! Â My husband and I count down our top ten songs of the year and I make something yummy! Â The best!
Those glasses are gorgeous!
My husband and I are going out to dinner at a pretty low-key restaurant with some friends  for New Year’s and I couldn’t be more excited!

We’ll be traveling home from Mexico that day, so we’ll probably be at home with champagne :)
