august favorites

Here’s a peek at everything I loved in August 2020! xo

FOOD

Elin Hilderbrand’s Grilled Zucchini Dip. Elin posted this recipe on her instagram and I knew I had to make it instantly. I have made this 5 (!!!) times since. I don’t think she currently has it saved to her highlights, but I wrote out the recipe here when I shared it in a weekly recap. It’s unique and so delicious.

Torres Truffle Chips. Serve these with the above. Another Elin recommendation. They are the best truffle chips I’ve ever had.

American Spoon Maple Granola. This is the best store-bought granola ever. I love it so much!

Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew!! I cannot get enough. This is probably my favorite drink of the year. I don’t love pumpkin spice things, but I do love PUMPKIN things – minus the spice. That is why this is so good. The foam is mostly pumpkin, minimal spice. Now I would like to figure out a way to order this decaf, because too much cold brew makes me a crazy person.

FASHION

Free People Straw Visor. I don’t know if we can call this fashion but it’s easily been my most worn item of August, if not the entire summer. I’ve had mine since last year and just adore it.

Tommy John Second Skin Lounge Pants. I got these at the anniversary sale for half price and am in love. They are the perfect pajama/relaxing pants.

Rails White Neon Shirt. Rails shirts are my love language and I pretty much live in them all year long. I’m absolutely obsessed with this one that has the neon detail.

MEDIA

Yellostone! The season was out of this world. The finale was a bit over the top, but I still can’t handle how much I love every character in this. I even love to hate Jamie. If you haven’t watched it, it would be a great one to binge right now.

Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover. This was my favorite book of August. Colleen’s writing is one of my absolute favorites – she pulls me in instantly.

HOME

Crate and Barrel Chip Dip Bowl. For previously mentioned zucchini dip! I have had multiple chip/dip bowls over the years, but they are either larger lazy susans or plates when the dip bowl is separate. This is all connected and perfect for serving! Also great for guac and chips.

Vineglace Wine Chiller. This was the best thing I took on vacation last month. It’s like a giant yeti insulator but for a wine bottle. We used it every single day!

Corksicle Hot Pink Tumbler. And this has been my summer cup. I’ve used it for coffee, seltzer, cocktails and wine. I love the feel of it and of course it keeps everything hot or cold.

KIDS

Cat & Jack Rainbow Boots. Emilia is an accessories and shoe lover. For awhile, she was wearing a pair of Max’s rain boots in the house, but then we finally took them outside. So I bought her these ones and she adores them. My favorite thing is that she pairs these with shorts all the time. It’s the cutest.

LCD Writing Tablets. The kids love the boogie board and I bought these for our long car ride for vacation. They were a huge hit.

Veer Cruiser Wagon. This is a big one and not an item I mention lightly, but the amount of questions I got on instagram about this was wild! Max has officially outgrown the uppa baby vista double seat (I’m devastated, yes!), but he still likes to be in a seat sometimes. He can still fit in the citi mini double (slightly comfortably), but he doesn’t want to be reclined for long – and then Emilia refuses if he gets out. Both of those strollers have gotten a TON of use in the last 3 years. We are a stroller-loving family. So, I read a ton of reviews and bought the Veer. It is absolutely incredible and the kids will sit in it for hours. We walked for a few hours each morning on vacation and they loved it. We use it at the park or in our neighborhood. You can easily push or pull it – I mostly push, like a stroller. It doesn’t take turns well, so I wouldn’t take it to target or anything in place of a stroller, but it’s great on walks, beach, etc. Absolutely love it!
