Garlic butter buns and me are meant to be.

garlic butter pizza rolls

These fluffy rolls made from pizza dough are brushed with garlic herb butter and served warm. They practically melt in your mouth and are one thing that everybody can agree on.

These are simple but one of our most favorite things ever. I don’t know a soul who doesn’t love these. And they are easy enough to make your own. Very versatile!

The rolls are nothing super new or special – I make them all the time! Which is why I wanted to share them with you. This is a recipe I make if I have leftover pizza dough or if we need a super quick pizza-like roll for a party or with dinner. They are just so simple and SO delicious.

You can even use store-bought pizza dough if you’re in a pinch or if that’s what you prefer.

Because we’re using pizza dough, they taste different from a classic parker house roll or dinner roll. They taste like super delicious pizza crust with crisp outside edges, fluffy insides loads of garlic butter. These are drenched in salty, garlicky, herby butter that gives the bread mouth-watering flavor.

They are DELISH.

I am including my go-to recipe for pizza dough below. The one you guys love! I add lots of herbs to the dough while mixing, which ups the flavor. Just keep in mind you can use any pizza dough!

After the dough rises, I like to divide it into 20 or 24 equal size pieces. Then I form them into rolls and place them on a sheet pan. I do another quick rise, just 20 to 30 minutes.

While they rise, I make herby garlic butter. Brush it on the dough.

Then bake! OH MY WORD.

It is so delicious. It’s like a garlic butter candle in a skillet.

When the rolls come out, I brush MORE garlic butter all over them. A few times! Give them a good shower and get every single spot.

Then serve! Words are even enough to describe how GOOD they are.

So how can you serve them?!

You could serve them like a roll with dinner. Or with marinara sauce or a sauce you love for dipping. You could even top them with shredded cheese for more of a melty pizza bun.

We all need a carbcation.

Ingredients

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine water, yeast, honey and olive oil. Mix with a spoon, then let sit until foamy, about 10 minutes. Add the flour, salt, garlic powder and dried herbs, stirring with a spoon until the dough comes together but is still sticky. Using your hands, form the dough into a ball and knead it on a floured surface for a few minutes. Rub the same bowl with olive oil then place the dough inside, turning to coat. Cover with a towel and place in a warm place to rise for about 1 to 1.5 hours.
  • Once the dough has doubled in size, turn it out of the bowl onto a floured workspace. I add a few pinches of flour until it’s no longer sticky and knead it a few times until smooth. Then I use a bench scraper or large knife and divide it in half, then in quarters and so on, until I have 20 or 24 equal-sized pieces.
  • Form the pieces into rolls by pinching the bottom together and forming it into a ball. I like to use a 10x15 inch baking sheet for these. Place the rolls on a baking sheet. Cover with a towel and let rise again for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. While the dough rises again, make the garlic butter. Place the garlic, butter and herbs in a saucepan over low heat. Cook until the butter melts then turn off the heat.
  • After 30 minutes, brush the garlic butter on the rolls. Save half of it as we will brush it after. Bake the rolls for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden on top and cooked through. Brush with the remaining garlic butter. Top with parmesan. Serve!
