A Week In The Life, Vol 16.
Another April week in the books!
These two crack me up!!
They insisted they bring their notepads and pencils/crayons on a car ride today.
Living for all the blooms! My allergies are not.
House salad for the win! Should I do a more in-depth post on my house salads? Haha. I have about 4 or 5 on the site that I use depending on what else I’m serving and the season.
A big old pan of baked spaghetti, the amazing garlic bread from Everyday Dinners, a house salad and some pineapple. The pineapple is SO GOOD right now.
This babe looks like he is 15. Kills me.
Okay so I weirdly love this. There are a ton of seeds but aside from that, I loved it. Have you tried it yet?! I think it’s a love or hate thing.
Emilia and I went to Target and we hadn’t been there in forever. The entire time she was like “wow!”, “mama look at this it’s so beautiful!” and I mean she would say it about socks and underwear. She is my spirit animal.
Max got a haircut!
We ventured to Cleveland…
To celebrate my niece Violet’s 2nd birthday!!
This funfetti cake with chocolate was amazing.
Both kids have been so loving and affectionate over the last few weeks, at different times. I wonder if it’s because in a way, they sense the baby is coming?! Max is always insanely affectionate but he has been on another level. I’m not complaining at all. I love it!
Mini fontinella bagel pizzas from Everyday Dinners too!! Made these last week and we love them!
This is her one eyed “cheese.” I mean, how is it possible to be this obsessed with your kids? Asking for a friend.
Have a lovely week!

Yes, please on the “house salad”! I need more direction on options that go inside. It’s always so colorful and crunchy!!
I can’t wait for your cookbook to arrive! I have seen so many sneak peaks, that cashew chicken from today!! Can’t get over how grown up both kids look. Especially Emilia in her one eyed “cheese” is she really only 3??!! I’m thinking she’s lying about her age, LOL!!
Yes please — more info on house salads! And a post with all your different dressings would be awesome. After making your dressings I can’t go back to bottled!
And I can’t WAIT for this new cookbook!!
Being obsessed with your kids is definitely a good thing! I’ve seen way to many kids who are merely tolerated and trust me, this will come back to bite their parents. We love salads so more on the house salad issue would be great. And your dressings really are nice – so fresh and delicious. I have a small version of my larger food processor so I can make any of the dressings in very short order – I always try to appeal to my laziness! Actually I’m not lazy at all but this little processor is wonderful.
Ah the cake is so pretty and loveee Emilia’s jacket. I guess rainbows just feel right right now? This spring is starting to feel a little bit like the rainbow after covid pandemic rain, maybe. As usual your kids are so cute and Emilia’s top knot is just darling. Have a great week!
Love these posts so much! Just a heads up, spirit animal is a term that is really no longer in use. It generally refers to sacred indigenous practices and can feel dehumanizing to native people when it is used out of context.

Thank you Penny! It’s so good to learn and be aware. I really appreciate you!
Yes to the deep dive on house salads!!!
I think your kids are just getting in as much cuddle time with you as they can because they understand, maybe on a subconscious level, that they will have to share you in just a few months. I am guessing they will be amazing siblings…loving, caring, helpful …to their new little family member. But for now, they want to soak you in as much as they can. Happy times ahead as your sweet family grows.
Yes, I love the Watermelon Jerky too, and my son thinks I’m totally weird for it. Although I just eat the seeds sometimes too, because I get tired of picking them out. Did you know you can “sprout” and roast regular watermelon seeds as a snack? They’re supposed to have a lot of nutritional benefits. :)

Emilia’s reaction to Target made me smile! My 3 yr old recently went to Target for the first time in a year and was obsessed with the mannequins. Going around the store she would excitedly point them out saying, “Look there’s another one! Oh, those ones are running!” Love viewing the world through kid eyes!
Those beautiful kids are getting waaaay too big, but oh so cute. They look 15 and 13 in every photo 😭
