toddler favorites: 2.5 years old.
Sharing our favorites at this crazy age of two-and-a-half! Most of the things I shared in our favorites last December are still the same. A handful of repeats here, but there isn’t much he doesn’t like. Let me know what you are loving down below!
Clothing & Shoes
One of the biggest questions I get asked is where I get Max’s clothes! These are a few of our favorites.
Native Miller Shoes. I know that Native’s are really just another version of Crocs, but oh my gosh, do we LOVE them. They fit Max’s foot perfectly, are super cute, can easily get wet and don’t smell ever. They are his favorites. The only time I don’t like these is when he is really running a LOT.
Keen Seacamp II Shoe. These are a favorite for another year in a row. They still end up smelling awful but they are so versatile, keep his toes protected and can get wet. I actually bought two pairs this summer since he really wears through shoes.
Babiators. Max LOVES his sunglasses this year! He was fine with them as an infant, but last year wouldn’t put them on his face much. This year, he asks for them daily if we are outside. The quality of Babiators is amazing and they can bend without breaking.
Hudson skinny jeans from Nordstrom Rack. Max is sooo skinny and teeny, it is almost impossible to find him jeans that don’t pull right off. He wore through an entire pair of these and we are on our second pair.
Zara: for their leggings, shorts, jeans and most fall/winter clothes.
Hanna Andersson: the only PJs we buy! They are AMAZING quality and last forever. They also sort of “grow” with them. Really love their shorts and tees too. And tons of fall/winter clothing.
H&M:Â for random pieces. Love their slim fit jeans too.
Cat & Jack from Target: for everything! That line is so adorable. It’s always on sale so never pay full price. I also love Target for all swimsuits.
Old Navy: for baseball tees, zip-up hoodies, tanks.
Gap: runs super big for us, so Max still wears a lot of 12-24 months. Love their jean shorts, button downs and cute one pieces that he can still fit into.
Toys & Outdoor
If you follow me on instagram, then you know that Max is obsessed with anything Cars and Lightening McQueen related. These are a few things that aren’t that. AND YES I still owe you a post on his favorite books. He adores books, so I’ll be sure to get it up!
Puddle Jumper Life Jacket. Since Max is such a peanut, the puddle jumper still barely fits him but thankfully he loves to wear it. We just have to have it on the tightest setting and continue to push it up his arms. This has been a lifesaver and I think it’s so much better than the water wings I wore as a kid.
Step 2 Step Water Table. Now that it’s hot outside, Max loves playing in this for hours. We use ours for all water (no sand) and he has a blast.
Bubble Mower. Over a year later, this is still one of his favorite toys that he plays with daily!
Chalk! Of course, he loves chalk. We adore the big crayola boxes. They are super nice and last forever.
Radio Flyer 4 in 1 Trike. Max loves riding in this but also loves pushing his cars/animals/toys in it for a walk. Cutest ever.
Melissa & Doug Train Table & Set. This is still a HUGE favorite in our house. Plays with it every single day.
Bath Crayons. Max loves regular crayons too, but these bath crayons have been a huge hit lately! Now I just have to make sure he doesn’t color on the regular walls with regular crayons. Eeep.
Uppababy G Luxe Umbrella Stroller. On a day to day basis and quick trips, Max isn’t in a stroller much but if we’re going to the mall, the zoo, obviously anywhere he might want to ride, this is still our #1 choice for this age. It’s SO light. And the bottom compartment is pretty big. I’m currently researching double strollers for the Fall, so if you have a favorite, please let me know!
Foods & Utensils
Not many things to mention here since Max eats mostly regular food, but there are a few stand outs! And yessss I will attempt to do a toddler meals post in the future.
Thermos Funtainer Canteen Cups. Still a HUGE favorite!! These are the best drink containers – they keep everything cold and don’t leak at all. This is what we take whenever we are on the go! I actually buy mine at Target.
Stoneyfield Whole Milk Yogurt Pouches. Max STILL loves these. He likes eating yogurt out of containers too, but these are just so easy to have on hand for quick snacks or breakfast. He adores them. And whole milk yogurt options for kids are so lacking at my grocery store. This is the perfect size.
Lightening McQueen Plate. We have a few versions of these and Max loves eating off of them. Obviously. We have utensils and cups too!
Trader Joe’s Peanut Butter & Jelly Bars. These are one of the portable snacks that I always have on hand when we’re on the go. He loves these so much.
Crayola Light Timer Toothbrush. Not exactly food, but Max loves brushing his teeth and this toothbrush has a light timer that tells you how long to brush!

Baby Jogger City Mini GT for a double stroller!!!
For when the inevitable happens and Max colors on the wall with regular crayons, Magic Erasers are the bomb. We hosted a dinner party for my husband’s birthday last December and a couple of our toddler guests decided the walls were more fun to color with crayons than the coloring books were. The Magic Erasers worked like a charm and the crayon came off with a little bit of water and elbow grease.
I really enjoy following your Max posts. Now that my first little is 5 months away, I’ve been going back and rereading your baby posts. They’re invaluable!
Just bought the uppababy Vista for our 2 kiddos plus rumble seat on a recommendation from my friend. It was a big investment but I LOVE it. I like that we can switch up the configurations and once our toddler is too old for a stroller we can make it a single stroller again. Resale value is really good. Bottom basket is huge AND it’s easy to steer with one hand which I love because sometimes Asher wants to walk & hold my hand. Whew, I’m done talking about my stroller :)
These are the best because their arms can’t slide out:Â Disney Dory Tadpool Vest https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IT3LPS0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_sTOszbN2QFQ0C.Â

I don’t know why Old Navy and Baby Gap have to run so big. I’m used to just buying 2T in everything else (my toddler is a couple weeks older than Max) and I got her the cutest shorts at the last minute for a luau party at daycare but they practically fall off her. Oh well, she can wear them next summer too.
Looking into the babiators right now. She finally wants to start wearing sunglasses.
Can’t wait to see pics of that new little baby. My two are a little closer in age so baby #2 just turned nine months. I didn’t know it’d be so much fun to dress a boy.
Skinny toddler over here too! Ugh, I am struggling with the transition from size 1 to size 2. All his 1s are too short, but size 2 EVERYTHING slides right off. Even some of his too-short size one pants are a little big around the waist. Generally I’m just putting him in stretchy everything because it hugs him at least. Good to know there are skinny-fit jeans out there for him!
HOW??? How, how, how is he 2.5 years old??? Goodness….
Our kids are 19 months apart and we have the City Select Double. It depends if you want a tandem or side-by-side. The doorway to our daycare is narrow and doesn’t open all the way (???) so that made the decision for us. But it’s been great for shopping, too. If I’m being honest, I’d also love to get the Bob double as well, and have only heard AMAZING things about that if you’re not heaving it out of the car on a daily basis. Good luck!
