Tuesday Things.
1. I was so super excited last week because the owner at my local TCBY said almond milk froyo is coming soon. I love me some almond milk. I hope it’s in funfunfun flavors. Not that it matters considering I add all the toppings.
2. What.the.heck. Brunchiladas and mimosaritas. IS THIS REAL LIFE.
3. Last night when I was prepping dinner, I dropped an entire large contained of fresh mozzarella in oil on the kitchen floor. Even after cleaning, it is still a freaking oil slick. I can moonwalk all day.
4. When I was scrolling through some HBO a few days ago, The Vow was on and I could think of was… how could someone wake up and deny Channing Tatum his husbandly duties? Like wouldn’t you just wake up and even if you were confused, be like OMGyesyou’remyhusband.
5. Some of the pictures I shared on my weekend things were from gaucho and holy cow… it was some of the best food ever.Â
6. Even though I’m a 90s girl, I think it’s safe to say I’m sort of an 80s girl – I mean, albeit young ones, I still spent 8 years in that decade. So 53 things only 80s girls get? YEAH.
7. I seriously have no idea what I will do when corn and tomatoes are no longer in season. It’s all I eat. Seriously serious.
8. Dexter?! I totally felt like they wrapped up a big issue in Sunday’s episode and I’m like… where else is this going to go? So impatient. In other news, totally saw a clip for Homeland and… dying. Oh and I’m sort of disappointed in season 4 of the West Wing. Is the honeymoon period wearing off?
9. I want to cry because after loving the old reader so much, it looks like they are shutting it down. Darn it.
10. I’m leaving on a little excursion tomorrow, heading to see my friend Bev, chat at go blog social and then… to Michigan! I can hardly contain my excitement. I’m going to post 8 million pictures of sunsets and ice cream cones. You’ve been warned.

Ahh, what! You are going to see Bev and the little twins in her? Sounds so fun and I hope you have a great time in Michigan!
Oh and Dexter? Just stared season 7 finally and am totally in awe of whats happening. Craziness!
oh, the West Wing….It’s just so good! stay with it, the love comes right back!!
I’m frustrated with Dexter. I want to scream at the writers, “This is the last season, how are you possibly going to wrap this up in time?!”
Jealous. I am a MI girl living in Boston. Please eat some Kilwins and fudge for me. It truly is the best place on earth!
Michigan girl living in DC here, and I totally agree. Sososo jealous.
ah! I can’t wait to see your Michigan picks!
Where did you see a clip for Homeland? I am in withdrawal!
It’s not that the honeymoon period is wearing off, it’s that Aaron Sorkin left The West Wing at the end of Season 4 and, well, he also kind of ended that season in such a way as to give the producers the finger. A bit like “yeah, you’re not going to make it so that I’ll stay? Well, have this messy plotline to fix next season. Good luck.”
It’s never as good as the first three seasons again, but there are still good episode in the last three seasons. Plus, the modelled the new presidential candidate on some dude called Barack Obama, so…. there’s value.
Okay, rambling over. Imma go dream about a world where I can marry Jed, Leo, Abby, Toby, and CJ all at once now.
ARGH TYPOS. episodes*, they modelled*. DARNIT.
Apparently I’m a total 80’s kid too. I had all those toys, even the cool girl boom box (in purple!) Scrunchies for life!
Hey you’ll be in my Home town KC! Enjoy the BBQ and Fountains :)
I haven’t been reading your blog for very long, but I have come to just love your Tuesday Things posts! (also the monthly makeup posts, hilarious)
We grilled corn the other night but wrapped it in bacon first. Whoa baby.
I totally agree with your “Vow” sentiments!!! haha
Seriously, I can’t even remember a time when corn and tomatoes weren’t all I ate. I bought tomatoes from 3 different vendors at the farmer’s market this weekend….three! They were all just so pretty!
ALMOND MILK FRO-YO? Whoa. This a game-changer for me. I don’t eat dairy usually due to lactose intolerance so I never eat fro-yo. This insider info you just gave me could be the best/worst thing ever. Too bad I live in Shadyside/East Liberty and there’s no TCBY here. Not that that would stop me from seeking one out.
Aww You will find a new food to replace them! Think about the lovely autumn flavours,
I hope you have good time with Bev. can not wait for the photo bomb
TCBY!? Oh man, if only we had one in Vegas. I love me some almond milk! :(
1. Just got through Season 1 of West Wing and I love it. It’s killing my productivity.
2. I tried out Feedly and The Old Reader and liked the latter much better so I, too, was upset over it shutting down.
3. What did you clean the floor with? Instinctively, I would use dish soap since oil was involved but that makes the floor slippery too. Ammonia or Pine-Sol would be my suggestion.
Rubbing alcohol… pour some on the oil slick and wipe up. It should take care of it. ;)
Almond milk fro-yo sounds like HEAVEN!!! I wish I had one near me!
I just hung a New Kids On the Block poster in your room.
Oh – that 80’s list just killed me. I had nearly everything on it – I still have my Pound Puppy, although he’s looking awfully like “The Velveteen Rabbit” character of the rocking horse – the hair’s all worn off and his stuffing is coming out.
Le sigh.
Thanks for that lovely moment of nostalgia.
Wait – I still have My Little Pony’s too…. but the new ones have ‘sexy eyes’ and it creeps me out.
OMG Almond Milk FROYO?! Dreams DO come true!!
And YES!! Every time I watch The Vow, that’s all I can think about! Geeeezzeee lady you’re so stupid!! Did you SEE this man who loves you?! Yes please!
Totally love The West Wing! Am loving House of Cards now. 180 turn, I know. Kevin Spacey is amazing. Also starting Orange is the new Black on my daughter’s recommendation.
Where do you go in Michigan? I went to college there, where i met my husband. He’s from Bay City.
I was using The Old Reader as well. Some kind soul in the blog comments from their site suggested Inoreader.com and it is brilliant. Much faster than The Old Reader but almost identical interface as Google Reader/The Old Reader. I switched yesterday and things are looking fantastically promising!
I spilled (hot) oil on the floor once and used Dawn to get it up. But as someone else mentioned, it too made the floor slick. However, after several wipes with dry paper towels all was well again. ;)
Have fun on your excursion!
Jess girl, you have a typo on nr. 5… guacho means orphan and it´s used with animals such as a calf. And it´s also slang for someone who´s trying to take advantage of you (sort of a nice way to say son of a b..*ch) jajaja
hahaha i love that you said that about the vow because that is exactly what i thought. Channing tatum is my biggest celeb crush like I would not question the fact that he was my husband for a second.
So sad about the Old Reader. I switched to Feedly yesterday … it seems to be just as good. I would have gladly paid for TOR, but they seem pretty adamant about shutting it down.
Yes to The Vow!! I couldn’t really watch that movie, because I wanted to strangle Rachel M. The real man didn’t look like Channing Tatum, but I mean, if he was even half as sweet, COME ON!!!
Try mopping with white vinegar. Should clean that oil slick right up! (And by “mopping” i mean soaking a paper towel and moving it around on the floor with your foot… lol)
I’m sorry, but I simply don’t see what your excitement is about coming here (to Michigan that is). The weather has finally cooled down to the point where you actually walk outside and feel like you can breath again; I’ll say that much! I guess if you must come here, I highly recommend going to Lake Michigan. There’s a lot of really nice small cities around there that are definitely worth you time, along with several lighthouses that offer tours. Oh and don’t forget to stop at Mackinaw Island if you get a chance. Also, there’s a pretty sweet water park we have called ‘Michigan Adventure’. It’s half water park and half rides, only $30, not a bad deal. Other than that, there’s really not much here.
Almond milk frozen yogurt?! Seriously? Wow, that sounds so awesome and I am SO glad you shared, because there just so happens to be a new TCBY only about 15 mins away from me! I must visit soon!
Hooray for Michigan! I just had a vacation there, and just had my first experience with American Spoon and Fustini’s – definitely not my last. :)
Michigan gal here :) Enjoy your trip and yes yes and more yes to ice cream cone pics. Not sure where you are going but if you are Up North you MUST find Eskimo Kisses ice cream! Rumor has it that it’s only available at three ice cream shops in MI and it’s pure heaven in your mouth. Coconut ice cream with chocolate truffles, coconut shavings and fudge. House of Flavors in Ludington and Downtown Scoops in Alpena should still have it. The third is a quick trip from my ofifice so I’m no stranger to its deliciousness ;)
You mean there’s actually good things about our state?!
I’m an 80’s girl- go Jake Ryan and Pat Benatar and Van Halen and The Jeffersons and The Dukes of Hazzard and MTV and Atari! YEAH!
That’s so exciting about the almond milk fro yo!
There’s a coffee shop by me that finally started selling their coffees with almond milk so it’s nice to hear it’s finally catching on!
Have a great trip
I swear every week you post frozen yogurt and every week I get one. Its a good thing.
The oil thing happened to me a couple weeks ago when I was deep-frying mini calzones for a recipe article! It was annoying, of course.. but I secretly loved how soft the bottoms of my feet were after a few days. gross, i know.. but a small upside!
There’s an update that the Old Reader may stick around after all! I’ve converted to Feedly, but I loved Google Reader for the past few years and I was devastated when they shut down.
Almond milk froyo?! I need that by me asap!
Number 4. Just this. YES. Duh.!!!! hahaha
Almond milk froyo??!?!?!?!?!!??!!?
When you blogged about t
Dumb. Anyway, I was going to say that when you blogged about the old reader, I jumped on it, and now I’m super sad it’s dying too! But also, TCBY is a seriously lost art in the South, and it makes me feel like there’s something wrong with the world. Almond milk froyo sounds like it’s probably its own food group in heaven, right?
Almond milk froyo!! I just searched the entire Internet to find out if this is coming to NJ too. I hope it is! Also, I love The Old Reader too and will be pretty bummed if it gets shut down. I just started getting used to it!
LOL @ number 4. So true. And I hated the way that movie ended, so lame.
I love these posts. Oh my, how could I forget that list of 80’s items, especially the kaboodle. I loved my kaboodle……fond memories.
So two of my wonderful friends posted this link on my FB and well, it’s the best ever and you TOTALLY need to see this..

Umm, too hot for words. Wantwantwant.
Have fun in the MIch :) I’m literally passing through right now as I’m heading back to Chicago from Rochester, NY… in the CAR! PS no judging here on your future #instapics

The best way to get rid of oil you spill is to put something on it that absorbs it (flour, corn starch or baking soda) and then it cleans right up. I dropped a an ENTIRE bottle of oil on the floor once, so trust me.
Power through West Wing – I mean, as a WW efficianado, I can safely say that the 5-7 seasons get WAY DARKER, but it’s still got it’s moment. Power through, you’ll come out better for it in the end. Trust me, Josh/Donna & Charlie/Zoey cliffhangers abound!!
Also – hug the Bev’s belly for all of us!
Belle (Capitol Hill Style) posted about the AOL reader (who knew!?! http://reader.aol.com/) and said it’s good so that might be a good one to check out if The Old Reader does shut down.
