Tuesday Things.
1. It’s in negative temps here today, but all I can think of is this chocolate peanut butter cereal milk ice cream. She gets me. WHOA BABY.
2. Actually… it’s so cold here that the butter I have sitting out on the counter won’t soften. I don’t mind that much since it is sunny outside, but I’d really like a fancy microwave that softens butter and not one that I have to babysit every six seconds.
3. I asked this on Twitter yesterday, but has anyone read Labor Day? I’m tempted to read it after seeing the movie previews, but that might just be because I like to pretend Kate Winslet is my friend.
4. Eddie snacks on trail mix everyday… but when he buys is pre-packaged, he picks out every single almond and every single pecan. Like down to the crumbs. Guess what? He has eaten things with almonds before. I tell him that he’s confusing nuts.
5. This morning I worked out to an LFO playlist. It never gets old.
6. Last night while finishing up some photo editing, I turned on Full House. Because that’s what people in their 30s do. It happened to be the episode where Danny Tanner turns 30. THIRTY. Like older than me. Freaking 30. I just sat there stunned. Not stunned enough though to be slightly giddy over the superbowl Full House reunion commercial that’s coming up.
7. I think we are definitely watching too much sons of anarchy because Eddie said that twice while I was away, he was convinced somebody was in our house and was tempted to walk around with a weapon. Both nights he had watched three episodes before bed.
8. I was kind of bored with Girls this week, can we just have a show all about Shoshanna? Yeah yeah, I know, then her parts wouldn’t be as funny and fabulous. I’m reeeeeally excited yet emotionally distraught for the Walking Dead to come back on. And I’m still so engrossed in Nashville that I like to pretend that it’s my life. We are watching True Detective and like it, but I think our obsession with SOA is hindering that process a bit. I can only take one crime-like show at a time. You know my girly tastes.
9. I’ve been professing my love for Kacey Musgraves for at least two years now, but here’s why you need to drop everything and listen to her album. Uh, also? 25 boy band songs to get you through today. Tuesday is hard.
10. Uh, yesterday my cousin told me that there is a Pitch Perfect 2 coming out? I don’t think I knew this. I’m half thrilled and half dreading it because when is the second movie ever as good?
11. Today I’m going to live in my inspiration pinterest board. It’s warm and beachy and motivational and PINK. Also, apparently donuts inspire me. At least that’s my excuse for eating them.

First, Danny Tanner had 3 kids before 30? Shocking. Second, your hearts have made me crave chocolate for like the 10th time today. It’s barley 1:00PM. Third and last, I am dying over this. http://www.howsweeteats.com/2014/01/spiked-rice-krispie-treat-shake-shooters/. That is all.
THOSE PINK, PATTERNED STOOLS IN YOUR PHOTO. I need them in my future home.
they are from wayfair! http://www.wayfair.com/Sole-Designs-Pinky-Chain-Wingback-Cotton-Slipper-Chairs-Set-of-2-10022-SDSN1050.html
100% agree- LFO never gets old. I still like girls that wear Abercrombie & Fitch
My husband and I watched two episodes of season 4 last night. Although we are married by standard we have yet to intentionally “walk around the table.”
Also, I was so determined to figure out which twin played Michelle and which played Melina. I think Melina was Mary-Kate, for the record.
O.M.G. I am just as giddy over the Full House reunion! Can’t even deal. And, I need those pink chairs and fluffy white rug. I’m sure they would be husband approved.
Man, now I am going to go home and watch that Danny Tanner episode, I wish next year on my 30th I could get a TV episode dedicated to it. ha, make it easier.
Uhhh EXACTLY what topateplate said! 3 kids before 30? I’m barreling towards 30 and don’t even have a desire for 1!
I love your lists :)
I love Kacey Musgraves!!! Great voice, such great lyrics!!
I was at a Donut Fest this weekend and it sounds like it would have been heaven to you. As it turns out, it’s possible to eat TOO many donuts (which I previously assumed was not possible).
donut fest is a thing?
i’m dead.
In Chicago! 15 donut vendors, which, as it turns out, is about 13 too many when it comes to eating donuts.
You have made this cold miserable day just a little more bearable…..PITCH PERFECT 2! Now I have something to look forward to! Thank you!!!
Regarding Pitch Perfect, Elizabeth Banks is DIRECTING this time around! I don’t know about you but I absolutely adore that woman. It gives me hope that the sequel will live up to the amazingness of #1.
It’s also the same writer as the first, and Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson will be back!!!
ahhh you guys are getting my psyched!
READ Labor Day!!!! sooo soooo soooooo good! could not put it down. and i almost don’t want to see the movie because there’s no way it can rate to the book. Kacey Musgraves looked so beautiful on the Grammy’s!!
I haven’t read “Labor Day” but I did love that pie making scene and would be curious to study that chapter!
Wait, I need to know more about this Full House reunion thing! I can remember when I turned 24 (waaay too long ago) and I realized that was the age the characters were when Friends started. I was officially a grown up! Or maybe they weren’t as grown up as I thought. I agree Girls was a little boring this week but LOVED Shoshanna’s bit about her friend dying;. I am also watching True Detective but can’t follow any of it! Maybe I’m too tired when I watch it but all the names and leads and stuff are just confusing me.
2 words. Butter. Bell.
I have one. I thought it was frivolous. I am a convert.
whaaaaat? what is this thing you speak of?
its a hamdy little thing. You fill the base with water and the lid with butter. The seal the water makes keeps the butter at spreadable temperatures year round. No melty butter in the summer and no hard bread ruiny butter in the winter.
I bought one for boyfriend. his life revolves around butter.
Can I just tell you that I’ve had a butter bell for like four years and I JUST learned that you put water in it? I have the Le Creuset one…it did not come with directions.
LOVED Labor Day, can’t wait to see the movie and how did I not know about the Full House reunion??? I just squealed with excitement. Going to Google it now…
I love all of these things. I also can’t sleep (and now feel the urge to procure a weapon) after binge watching SOA.
Your comment about Eddie and trail mix makes me think of this cartoon I saw yesterday that read, “Trail mix consists of two things: M&Ms and disappointment.” Haha! And I totally agree about GIRLS. I love it so much but it’s been boring lately. :(
ha! i so agree with that too.
You can’t post that photo without sharing where the chairs are from. Please do tell.
they are from wayfair! :)

omg LFO forever!!!!!!!!!! and yes to shoshanna and kacey musgraves.
Your Pinterest Inspiration board just took me away to a happy happy land full of pink, love, inspiration and motivation!!! Thanks for all the lovely
I’m bored with Girls too.. it’s too self aware now.. if thats makes Any sense. Like they are trying too hard??Maybe I judge too hard..
SO HAPPY about The Mindy Project though!
And also I watched Full House daily, religiously growing up and my Mom made a point of telling me that it wasn’t realistic or the norm to have 3 kids before 30! Hahaha!! Didn’t want me throwing my life away on Danny Tanner dreams lol.. She gave me the down low on all my fav shows (mainly 90210, prob a good thing?)…I’m 27 with no kids in sight so.. I think I’m good..?
your mom is one smart cookie.
My 13 yo daughter loves the Walking Dead and spent a day watching all of the last seasons, so Gerard and i joined in……well ,”you can’t watch my show” ,”don’t even talk to me about it” …….”.mommmmmmmmmm!”
So Gerard and I will watch it in secret up stairs when it airs again. Go figure???
I actually downloaded Labor Day to listen to on my flight last week because the author’s son (Wilson Bethel/Heart of Dixie’s Wade) reads the book and hello, he’s hot so why wouldn’t I want him to read me a book while I sit on an airplane. I didn’t get to listen to the whole book before my library rental expired, bud I did enjoy the 60% or so I got to listen to and have put myself back on the waitlist so I can listen to the rest of it.
Yeah I had to microwave my butter yesterday too…and I had to put a container of ice cream (bc I made ice cream when it was -1 degree outside) in the warm oven to get it to soften enough to scoop! I know that the problem is me (duh, ice cream, butter, just say no…) but seriously, I’d like things to soften up please. That’s my way of complaining about the weather.
OMG the gold cake on your board is so kate spade and I’m dying
To soften butter (no microwave) – put a stick of butter between two large pieces of wax paper. Using a rolling pin roll it out like a pie crust. When the butter is about 1/4-inch thick, lift off the wax paper and peel away the butter (before it gets too soft to peel). Take a piece of butter between your thumb and finger and squeeze it a little. You should be able to make an impression in the butter with your fingers, but it should still provide some resistance. The butter should feel more waxy than greasy. If it gives without any resistance, the butter is too soft, put back into the refrigerator for a few minutes until it passes the test.
Despicable Me 2, Monsters Inc., and Toy Story 3 (wasn’t a fan of 2 and I know this is supposed to be about sequels but seriously..) were all better, if not as good, as the original. Yes, they are cartoons, but isn’t that what all almost 30yr olds (without kids) watch? Still excited for PP2..more songs to sing in the shower!
you have a great point!!
I LOVE KACEY! a friend I went to college with is best friends with her and kree. (shes the third hasbeen).. I live vicariously thru her instagram.
also.. walking dead.. im nervous for it to come back on cause I miss hershel. and if anything happens to glen I will give up on life.
I went on an SOA bender this past week and watched four season in six days. School work, housework, and general personal hygiene be damned! It’s so good!!! But also, I accidentally read what happened at the end of the most current season and am just so upset i can’t go on. I think I get too invested in television sometimes…
Donuts are always inspiring!
Softening butter can be such a slow wait! Which is why when all else fails 8 secs in the micro is just about perfect :) Stay warm!
Ahh, didn’t know about Pitch Perfect 2 or the Full House Super Bowl reunion! This just made my day.
Kacey Musgraves’s performance on the Grammy’s was so good! How in the world did she not flash everyone with that dress though?!
I still love Full House, and can say pretty much every line from every episode along with it. I don’t even care if that’s not cool — I love it! :)
I love this post, so many of the points always feel like you’ve written down the jumbled thoughts that go on inside my own head :)

Second movie better? Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan! So maybe your sequel will be good! PS: I had five kids by 26! Loved Full House but mine was even fuller (we even had an uncle with us!)
I’m reading Labor Day right now an d love it. Cannot put it down, I’m about halfway through. Also, a Full House reunion?? I had not heard that amazing news!
Oh my goodness, I remember seeing the Full House episode of Danny’s 30th birthday last year and it almost sent me into a tailspin. I mean, WHAT?! He’s a dad, he’s OLD, not younger than me! Then I realize that when my mom was my age, I was already almost 9 years old and my sister was almost 7. My gawd.
love kacey! great album..was so happy for her wins! and i want her light up boots, haha.
I really love Kacey Musgraves!
Read “Labor Day”! Based on reviews of the movie you may even be better off ONLY reading the book but def read it before seeing the movie. I need to go see it for sure.
I adore Kacey. I haven’t followed her as long as you but I loooove her music. I’m so glad she made “Follow Your Arrow” her most recent single.
Just found out about the Super Bowl Reunion! I am so pumped! Love watching all tv shows while doing projects around the house. Unless it’s NCIS, then you can kiss getting anything done goodbye.
Can I just say that I totally agree with the LFO thing?!? Their songs never get old. I get so excited whenever one of their songs pops on my iPod…it reminds me of seeing them in person and getting to hug Rich! But, then I get kinda sad thinking about how Rich is no longer with us :'(
Jessica,
You should read “Labor Day” – it’s well-written from the point of view of Kate Winslett’s son. It’s a pretty quick read and you will enjoy it:)
PLEASSEEE can they give Shoshanna her own show? that would be amazing. and hilarious.
Ummmmm, not to sound crazy… but have you posted this before?! Like I feel like I have literally read those exact words before! Am I going crazy? It’s possible.
The Kacey Musgraves Pandora Station has been ruling my world.
For butter – put it in the microwave on 20% power for a minute at a time. Usually mine take 2 minutes to be softened enough for cookie dough. WAY easier than babysitting every 6 seconds. :-)
Girls is boring me too. I wish Homeland would come back.
you know it’s reeeeeally cold when your butter wont soften at room temperature! summer, where are you?!
Boy band songs get me through workouts. And I just started watching “Girls.” It’s tough.
