Tuesday Things.
1. Did anyone else have tears in their eyes/chills down their spine when American Pharoah won the triple crown? I was all “Max! You might not see this again until you are your dad’s age!” Also, does the registered typo in the name make anyone else want to throw a gigantic tantrum?
2. Oh hi. I’m losing my mind over this unicorn cake. I need it. For everyday life. Just look at that.
3. Yesterday I seriously blew up a blender full of frozen acai. It went EVERYWHERE. Everywhere, as in I’m still finding dots of it today. I mean, it flew like ten feet away from the blender in all directions. For someone who is deathly afraid of heights, getting up on a tall ladder and cleaning ten thousand teeny dots off the ceiling is petrifying.
4. So the ice cream man drives around our neighborhood everyday – sometimes twice a day. Do kids still know who and what the ice cream man is?! The music is the same. It’s haunting. It makes me want a strawberry shortcake bar. I desperately want to recreate those, but I want them to be EXACT. It’s not possible.
5. Bath and Body Works is doing it. I’m all over some country apple. Though nothing could compare to the absolute bath I took in Lovespell everyday before high school. Nothing. Between Sunflowers and Lovespell, I’m shocked that I don’t still smell like the entire 90s decade. What did you wear?
6. I’m spending way too much time on Snapchat using the paint feature and drawing on pictures and then deleting them. Do you know what it says if you try to delete? “Are you sure you want to abandon your snapsterpiece.” SNAPSTERPIECE. Best word ever.
7. Seriously hope I can do this at 60 years old.
8. I started watching Bloodline! I’m only two episodes in but I love it so far. In more embarrassing news, do you know what I’m considering binge watching? Ummm… Real Housewives. In all the trash TV I watch, I have never watched any season of the show. Should I do it?
9. Going absolutely crazy over this beautiful home, especially because it belongs to the owners of one of my favorite shops in Harbor Springs and is right on Lake Michigan. GAH. I can’t wait to get there this year.
10. Did you see all these new flavored frappuccinos at Starbucks?! So much excess. I want to try every single one but at the same time, none of them sound appealing to me. You know?

nooooooooo you definitely don’t want to start Real Housewives! it is a frustrating spiral I cannot look away from. :)
I am SOOOOOO pumped for the Frappuccinos. They will make my life!!! And I want all the B&B Works candles, always! Totally hooked!
Yes to Real Housewives and I feel the same about the new frappuccinos! Gah!
Cucumber Melon for life!!
Though I will agree with you on the strawberry shortcake bars. Those are seriously the best. Now I want one! Thanks.
On No. 8, yes!! yes!! yes!! It’s seriously addicting, but I don’t know why I can’t turn away from the Housewives. Just know, once you start… you can’t stop.
WOW I’m dying over that cake girl! And I am LOVING your snaps so please keep them coming! xo
Yes to Real Housewives!! I also just started watching Girls and have binge watched and now on season 3…I love that the episodes are less than 30 minutes. So easy to plop on the couch and watch 3…or 4…:)
So excited about those B&BW scents. Country apple all the way. I watch RH, but only certain ones. Beverly Hills and New York are my fav (the latter solely for the awesomeness that is Bethanny Frankel). I have somehow avoided all the others for fear of getting sucked into a never-ending vortex of trash TV. I use these shows when I need to turn off my brain.
No on Real Housewives-a spiral is a great way to describe it. And a repeptivive spiral at that. It started to drive me literally crazy that every show is the same, “go shopping, get drunk, scream at each other and cry, then the next day start a business with that same person you just screamed at.” And over and over again!
I just discovered BBW Coconut Lime Verbena…and cannot get enough. I smell like I’m on vacation at all times!
I adored a pear scent in high school but I think it was Victoria’s Secret? Plumeria was a close second. Pretty sure we had all of them at one time or another. Since I’m still getting over the sugar-shock after trying the s’mores frappe, I doubt I’ll try the new ones. Keep us posted if you do!
That unicorn cake is amazing! I’d want it just to sit in my kitchen and stare at it with awe. And, … we never once had an ice cream man or truck where I grew up. It is a shame!
xx

Bloodline on Netflix is sooo good! I watched all of Season 1 over two days – I couldn’t stop watching…
#9!! Wow. That house is so charming. And those frappuccinos….love! I love any of their frappuccinos and I am sure those will be just as delicious.
No Sun Ripened Raspberry?? That’s messed up. I myself was more of a GAP Dream girl.
Oh I was cucumber melon all the way ;)
Kristina does the Internets
4. PLEASE RECREATE THE STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE POP, PLEEEEASSEEE!!! :)
5. Sun-Ripened Raspberry was my jam, which is now [sadly] defunct? http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=4304782
Despite being a Maine girl stuck in the great lakes with her Midwestern Husband, Yay to Lake Michigan & Harbor Springs. Gorgeous. We spend every fourth of July at Bay Harbor. Have you been to Pond Hill Farm in HS?? We always try to stalk up on foods like spicy green tomato salsa. It’s life. I need like 10 jars to get me through winter. The big ones. Also, there’s a place that does a vodka lemonade slushies that are to die for, even for this gin loving vodka is gross girl. I will buy you one if you are there when we are!

YOU CAN PUT IN YOUR ZIPCODE AND FIND THE CLOSEST STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE BAR. Technology is amazing.
In related news on Memorial Day we did a car cruise, stopped at a gas station and everyone got ice cream and all I REALLY wanted was a SSB, and they didn’t have a single freaking one. I’ve been craving them ever since, randomly. You’ve reminded me and now I’m using the link above to get one on my way home from work. <3
THANK YOU for the link. There are four stores within 5 miles of me. Alas, thanks to the nutritional info provided by Good Humor, they are 105 mg of sodium per bar so I’ll have to live on the memory. We weren’t rich but there was always money for the Good Humor man and the Helms Bakery man.
I wore GAP dream and Tommy Girl. Gross!
If you watch the Real Housewives, I’d recommend New Jersey first and then NYC if you get hooked. The other ones are meh, the Jersey girls are crazy and awesome to watch!
Bloodline…OMG So so good!
Bloodline is such a great show! I binge watched it in 3 days … and now I’m dying for season 2. That family seemed so perfect but lots of twist and turns take you to the unimaginable!
Um, YES! Teary eyed, goosebumps and full on screaming at the TV when American Pharoah won the Triple Crown! I had goosebumps by the time the race was half-way done and he still had the lead. Unbelievable! It was totally a historical event. Love! Also, my uncle didn’t appreciate the yelling and cheering nonsense. He said to me mid-race, “You know they can’t hear you.” hahaha! Oh well. It was so cool to see. I thought the same – my kids might not see it until they are my age. Crazy!!
I did the same thing with my blender the other day during the clean-cycle…I put too much water and the lid wasn’t fully pressed on…..everything was soaked!
That news from Bath & Body works is amazing!! I loved all of those scents! Totally stopping by after work today.
I want to join Snapchat now just to use snapsterpiece!
i think happy daisy was my jam back in the day.
A big YES to Real Housewives, I started with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills then Real Housewives of New Jersey and Real Housewives of Orange County. I must be getting old because I can’t figure out snapchat!
I would be way more excited about the B&BW throwback fragrances if they were bringing back Flowering Herbs… that scent IS the 90’s for me, and so good. Also, Sunflowers, which my sister wore allll the time.
Just go for Orange County Housewives. They are the craziest and more horrifically entertaining.
I was totally into “The Race” and I too, was almost crying when American Pharaoh pulled 5 lengths ahead at the end of the race…like it was a walk in the park. He is a beautiful horse and the trainer commented numerous times on his sweet nature. As for the misspellig of his name, the owner’s son said it was a typo that went unnoticed by everyone until after the horse was offically regisered and then it was too late to change. At that point, the horse was winning races so his family looked at the mistake as perhaps a sign of good luck.
THAT UNICORN CAKE, THOUGH. I’m dead.
Also… those new Starbucks frappuccinos… I don’t know. They sound fantastic in theory, but um… ew?
Love all of this. Total chills–amazing! Which Real Housewives are you watching? I (shamelessly) watch them, trashy TV all the way! I need new TV shows!
I was all about Victoria’s Secret Pear Glacé but I dabbled in Plumeria. I vote no on Real Housewives…not worth the time
We’re 2 episodes into Bloodline as well. So good!!
YES to housewives!! New jersey, Atlanta and OC are my fave (in that order). Miami is kind of fun to watch, but also a bit of a snooze fest. Melbourne is okay if accents don’t weird you out. But new jersey is the one that got me hooked. I have a thing for trashy new jersey shows though… before the style network got canceled I was hooked on jerseylicous and glam fairy
Bloodlines!!!! That show was crazy!! Hope you like it
I totally hear you on those frappes! I tried the caramel cocoa crunch and was pleasantly surprised! Its got a toffee/caramel thing going on that was sooo good. Def worth a try if you love caramel!
60 is the new 40…
OMG! That Black House! So wonderful! Thank you for sharing all your secrets!
OMG, I did the same thing 2 weekends ago with acai in the blender! Luckily, I had 2 other people in the house to help clean up the purple dots that had exploded within a 10 foot radius. I’m still finding spots on the kitchen ceiling that we missed. Ruined the tamper for my Vita-Mix; luckily they replaced it for me free as I’d just gotten this machine in January and the rep said, due to impatience, it happens all the time. I think he must know me! He said he ruined his 1st tamper within 48 hours of receiving his machine, so I didn’t feel so bad!! Love acai bowls!!!
Housewives YES! The best. Watching grown woman who claim to be “classy” scream at each other is like then . I’ve watched for years and still love it.
I feel the same way about the new Frappuccino flavors. I feel the need to try buy they actually don’t sound that appealing. I really guilty-enjoyed Real Housewives of OC…the original ridiculous. I was all about Vanilla Musk and Bonne Bell emotion sprays in the 90s…we didn’t have Lovespell here!
I could be wrong, but I believe the chew did a recreation of the strawberry shortcake bars.
I am DYING for Bath and Body Works to bring back Foamburst body wash. I love that stuff and when they brought it back about 5 years ago I bought maybe 20 cans? Of course that’s gone now. And I buy other body wash now but it’s not nearly as good as that stuff.
But I will buy some Pearberry! Love that stuff.
Bloodline was phenomenal! I love Kyle Chandler and Linda Cardellini. Housewives seem so fake and full of themselves. I don’t find them entertaining at all. Married at First Sight was pretty amusing as far as trash tv goes. Love your blog, by the way. You are so funny, girl!
So The Chew on ABC actually did recreate these bars!
http://abc.go.com/shows/the-chew/recipes/strawberry-shortcake-ice-cream-bars-michael-symon
And I saw them make it and it seems like the flavors are spot on!
i’m an east coast girl in traverse city…… but i do love the lake, almost as much as the ocean… do you come to traverse city when you visit michigan?
Want a hint for avoiding the ladders? Take a swiffer or even a mop, and flip it upside down to use on the ceiling! I figured that out when I was working at Starbucks; somehow, drops of all those syrups will find their way to the ceiling.
HOW have you not whatched an episode of RHO…? I’m shocked! As a fellow trashy TV lover, I highly recommend RHONY (the NYC cast). So entertaining!
oh mannnn, I am heading to Bath & Body after work today to stock up on Country Apple and Pearberry. You just made my day!!!! :) :)
