Fresh Peach Gin and Tonic.
Who isn’t in need of a peachy refreshing cocktail for the 4th?
I’m a brand new gin and tonic lovah. Brand new! As in, maybe a few months? Besides cake. Always cake.
I’ve tried the cocktail multiple times over the years, having one or two great ones but having many this-tastes-like-pine-needles ones. Do you feel me?
Yes, right now I’m all about doing things with peaches that are fabulous until the peaches themselves are perfect enough to just eat. This here is my favorite idea so far. The peaches just ever so slightly sweeten the cocktail and combined with the tonic (my favorite is Fever Tree, it almost has a bite to it?), it’s seriously PERFECT for my tastebuds.
I’m actually convinced that this exact combo was made for my palette.
So. My grandpa is a huuuuge gin fan. He’s drank (drunk?) it for as long as I can remember. And a few weeks ago when he was at my house and I offered him gin, he nearly fell over at the fact that I actually HAD it in our house. It’s been on my mind ever since. Even if he did kind of snub my Tanqueray because Beefeater is his first choice.
It’s all worked out, because in the hot summer sun, I find this drink refreshing. And light!
See, my go-to light adult beverage of choice is vodka soda with limes. I drink it when I’m full from a meal or when I know it might be a long night and I just want something easy. It’s not sweet and when made right, sometimes it actually does just taste like water. (<never thought I’d be that person. never!) Most other drinks (beer, sugary things, wine) suppress my appetite which is super weird. The vodka soda doesn’t do that though… and neither does this!
It’s happy house perfection. Give me all your apps.
I love the gin and tonic so much right now because it’s so similar to that vodka soda but with some sweetness. For my sweet teeth. Just a hint though! Because when the sun is beating down on my face, honestly the last thing I want is a huge glass of alcohol, so it’s gotta be light.
I mean, I really want, like, a huge plate of nachos and maybe a slushie margarita, but also a gigantic bottle of water. But if I HAD to not be a brat, peach gin and tonic would be my current number one choice. It’s classy and makes me feel like an adult even though I’m everything but. And I’ll most likely steal all of your limes. OOPS.
Fresh Peach Gin and Tonic
Ingredients
- 1/2 ripe peach, sliced
- 2 ounces gin, I used Tanqueray
- 4 ounces tonic water, Fever Tree is my fave!
- 1 ounce freshly squeeze lime juice
- crushed ice
- rosemary sprigs for garnish
- lime wedges for garnish
Instructions
- Fill a glass with a few peach wedges and crushed ice. Pour the gin over the ice, then the tonic and squeeze in the lime juice. Stir a few times to combine. Serve immediately with a rosemary sprig popped in for color. Don’t forget to eat the peaches!

Oh my this looks so fantastic and refreshing. I also used to dislike gin, but over the past few years, I’ve really gotten into it. I would totally have a fork all ready to fish out those ginny peaches at the end.
heck yes!! same. :)
G&Ts have been our favourite summer drink here since about… forever. This peach take looks so refreshing and delicious, I can’t even! And with Canada Day/4th of July celebrations right around the corner, I can’t think of a better time to give it a try than this weekend.
thanks ksenia!
My father used to drink vodka and tonics (or as he called it, “tun- nik”) and when I was a kid I took a big gulp of what I thought was water but was tuh-nik. Ugggg. Ever since then, I can’t bring myself to try tonic. And I’ve never had gin. I tend to order vodka sours ever since my college roommate told me they taste like lemonade (enough said!) But those peaches… Mmmmm. Maybe it’s time?
i love the idea of a vodka sour too!
you’ve made frankies life tonight. he’s picking up peaches & tonic because I said I’d make this for him. if I don’t make our gin and tonics he just does gin and … soda water. womp womppppp.
love that!
Mind. blown. The count down is now on until I can have my first drink post pregnancy and theres nothing I want more than a nice cold gin and tonic … or maybe a glass of rose …
ahhhh how exciting!!
I firmly believe there is nothing better than a drink with gin and fruit. They’re just so good! Can’t wait to try this one!

I’ve been loving rosemary in my drinks lately… my latest creation was a tequila old fashioned made with rosemary simple syrup and rosemary infused tequila. OOOOEMMMMGEEEEE it was good! (I’m going to be posting the recipe soon! But this G&T looks so perfect for summer – Can’t wait to try it. Happy 4th!
omg that sounds so wonderful!
I need this in my life this weekend. Gin and tonics all summer long!
let’s do it! :)
Dramatically overreacting ova here!! Peach and Gin tonic got me going Crazy! ? Pinned!!!
thanks tonya! :)
I am so not a gin person. I am with you on that whole plate of nachoes with a slushy margarita (or a pina colada if it’s made right), but I am obsessed with peaches so I might have to give this a try!

i want the nachos immediately.
Gin has always been my go to, so I will definitely be trying this! If you can find it in your area, Watershed Distillery Four Peel Gin is hands down the best gin I’ve tried. It’s made with citrus peels in addition to the typical gin botanicals, which is such a pleasant deviation from the standard juniper flavor and really lends itself to a wide variety of mixing options!
i will look for that! thanks marla.
Oh my gosh it’s so good! I love all the citrus. I wish Ohio distilleries could sell in PA.
Wigle’s Ginever is what got me back into gin after a poor gin decision in college turned me off for years. Like Watershed it still has the juniper, but there’s 8 other botanicals like lavender and cardamon that give it an amazing herbal flavor without all the pine needles.
AMAZING.
thanks sara!
ahh, these look so perfect! I’ve never been a gin and tonic person either, but wish I could drink one of these right now. :) so fun for the 4th!
thanks beth!
Ok, this looks amazing!! You need to try my raspberry infused gin – you would absolutely love that!! I posted about it just a day or two ago, with some other summer cocktails!
oh i will absolutely try that debbie!
I laughed at your comment the the G&T was/is your Grandpa’s drink. I get teased often about this being my drink of choice – what? Are you a 70 year old grandpa?! But it IS. And as of tonight, I’m tossing some nectarines in it! Don’t shoot me, I prefer my peaches fuzz free. For my birthday, my husband bought me a rosemary infused gin and that stuff is horrid. So I’m going to leave out the rosemary, even though it looks so pretty. Thanks for the inspiration!
HA! People tell me the same thing. G&T is my favorite…what I always order and people I’m with say, “What are you? A 75 year old man?!?!” I don’t care. I love it.
hahahaha love that!

YUM!!!!!! Where do I find Fever Tree tonic? Gotta try! I also like a slice of Meyer lemon in my G& T?
my local grocery store (giant eagle) has it! i think target might have it too?
Thank you….ill try Target. In the meantime, I’ve got a sample pack of six ordered from Amazon. Yay!
I was a gin hater until I tried Hendricks. Delicious. You won’t be sorry!
i’ve tried hendricks before and agree. it’s good!
I have always been a gin fan, but I found that Hendricks was my favorite… Until I found Uncle Val’s. Even people who don’t like gin seem to really like Uncle Val’s. It is more herbal and floral than it is juniper-y. I highly suggest you give it a try!
I know these flavors have got to be incredible, but right now I cannot move past how gorgeous this drink is! So pretty!
thank you ashlyn!
Made this last night–So good!!
yay! so glad you liked it victoria!

Love gin + tonics and happened to have fresh peaches on the counter…WOW so delish! Especially after I muddled the peaches and let them soak up all the gin! You rock girl! Also loving your cookbook!
I love a good G&T but I never feel its very summery but this twist looks fabulous!!!

Oh my Lawdy!! I totally missed this for the 4th… and there’s nothing quite as good as a refreshing, boozy, icy, peach drink. I’ll agree with your grandpa about the gin, and you about the nachos! Yaaas!!! FTW! Hope your 4th was the best!

Fever Tree is unreal, naturally sourced ingredients make all the difference (my father in law is the north American distributor, I’m a little biased)
I just, got. Funded $6864 working off my notebook this-month,, and if you think that’s cool, my ex-wife has twin toddlers and made over 7985 bucks her first month. It feels so good making so much money when other people have to work for so much less …See Here.
