November Favorites: Beauty.
How are we at the end of November and beginning of December?! WHAT?!
So this has been a weird makeup month for me. It’s been a light makeup month since I had Emilia on the 4th and haven’t worn a lot of makeup since, but it’s also been slightly heavy on the makeup-playing because of the Sephora VIB sale! I bought a bunch of things I’ve been so excited to try so I’ve still been wearing makeup more than I thought that I would.
Also! If you’re looking for gifts for people, here’s a list of my favorite beauty items to gift! Now on to this month…
Sephora PRO Cool Palette. I bought this at the VIB sale on a whim. I watched a ton of reviews and you know I’m a cool shade FREAK. I would love it Natasha Denona came out with a huge huge cool palette this size. I’ve used this every time I’ve done my makeup since having the baby and am so impressed with the shadows. A few of the glittery ones are more sheer, but I’m still super impressed with the quality. And the colors… I adore!
Marc Jacobs Provocouture Palette. Another VIB sale purchase and love. These shades are the best. The first four have been on permanent rotation with some of the shades from the cool palette mentioned above and these are just so buttery and soft. Not to mention that I love how small this palette is! I’ve wanted one of these for a few years and am so glad I finally bit the bullet. Excellent quality!
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Amethyst. I had the rose gold caviar stick a few years ago and couldn’t resist a gift set of four shades (that’s no longer available, whomp whomp) in shimmer and matte colors. The amethyst is saving me right now. I can use it as one color on my lid for a quick eye look but I’ve also been using it as a super light eyeliner! Love these!
Tony Moly Master Lab Hyaluronic Acid Mask. My cousin Lacy told me about this mask a few months ago and I bought a bunch when they were on sale at Ulta. Anything with hyaluronic acid… I’m sold. It works wonders on my dry skin. And this does not disappoint! It’s super hydrating and really makes your skin glowy. It’s also cheaper than the Farmacy hydrating mask I love but can only get at Sephora… and it’s always sold out.
Essie Ring in the Bling. I LOVE this shade so much! It’s the perfect fall-to-winter shade but also really works for the holidays. And I love that it has some shimmer to it, of course. I’ve had it on since I delivered Emilia and I might not change colors until spring!
Milk Lip Color in Wifey. This is an awesome fall/winter slightly-darker-than-nude cool shade! Long description but I love it. It’s matte, but not overly drying. It’s a really natural looking shade. I like it with gloss over top too.
YSL Tatouage Liquid Matte Lip in Rouge Tatouage. I bought two of these and wore the pink shade (Rose Illicit) a TON in September and October. These are matte which is not my favorite – but they do not budge, in a good way. They don’t transfer color and they aren’t overly drying. Really great right now since I kiss Emilia a billion times per day! The formula is actually comfortable. And these shades are so pretty. It’s my new holiday red!

My skin is going through something right now and I bought a ton of skincare during the VIB sale: Peter Thomas Roth Complexion Corrections pads (verdict is out. The smell is awful, and because of that i haven’t been using it consistently), Drunk Elephant vitamin B serum (so far so good, helping to make up for the cold weather and drying acne products), Natasha Denona Holiday palette Joya (first ND palette-cannot get over the quality of these shadows), Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette (STUNNING) and the Faux Filter foundation (havent used yet as my skin has lost its mind and I’m trying not to use new face makeup), Tatcha Water cream (i adore this moisturizer- it is light yet so hyrdating), Fenty Beauty cosmic gloss lip glitter (THIS IS SO PRETTY- but I am on the fence about actually wearing it and it being age appropriate because it is like galaxy unicorn rainbow glitter- but sooo pretty), and Too Faced Lady Balls matte liquid lipstick because i needed a TRUE red- i only own very blue reds. Other than that I stocked up on my Boscia cleanse off oil, first aid beauty cream, dior creme de rose gloss, and better than sex mascara. I also got the laneige lip mask because I had been eyeing it and then you recommended it so i did it. It is so good. Oh and I got Maison Margiela “Lipstick On” fragrance because you HAVE TO get a perfume during this sale and it smells so ladylike but like very adult. It isn’t too floral, or sweet, or fruity. It is a little floral, a little warm, a little sweet, and a little fruity. It smells like a “grown independent woman who runs her own creative business, has salads for lunch, wears chanel flats, lights diptyqe candels, and unwinds with a good glass of red wine from her boyfriend’s vineyard.”
