January Favorites: Beauty.
Hi hi hello!
Oh my gosh – I have lots of great beauty finds this month!
Not necessarily makeup (thought I’m still adoring this palette that I’ve been using the last few months), but lots of great beauty TOOLS! And some skincare too,
Something funny – so Lacy and I both sort of got each other the same beauty stuff for Christmas (some is mentioned below!) – and probably the best thing? Is this ice roller. I love it – it’s relaxing but energizing at the same time and just so great for the skin, especially in the morning. Also, this exfoliating glove which is pure GOLD. I’ve used exfoliating gloves for years but no matter how you hang them, then end up mildewing or getting gross not long after you start using them. This one is incredible and the best thing I’ve found for my skin in the shower. It’s also EASY to use.
Lacy got me the lip brush and the hair brush below, which I seriously consider to be some of the BEST beauty finds in 2019 for me. I don’t know how I have survived without them.
January 2020 Beauty Favorites
SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic. Okay I know I mentioned it last month but… I am completely in love. THIS IS EVERYTHING for my skin. I have only been using it in the morning but I swear it makes a difference. Many days I don’t wear makeup, like when we are cooking up a storm, etc, and multiple people have commented on how glowy my skin looks! This is the only significant change I’ve made. I’m officially obsessed.
Indie Lee Energizing Body Wash. Hooked on this. I’ve gone through periods of not using anything scented in the shower when I’m breastfeeding so now, when I’m not, I like to use something that feels luxurious. In summer I use the Sol De Janiero wash.
Indie Lee De Stress Body Oil. This has been incredible because you can spray it directly on your skin. In winter I love mixing body cream with oil or even layering them after the shower. This makes that so easy. I don’t LOVE the smell, but it’s not terrible either. There are also versions of the energize and sleep scents in this oil that I want to try!
Sol De Janiero Brazillian Nude Cream. I nearly jumped through my screen when I saw this on sephora’s website. I’ve adored the bum bum cream for years. It’s my favorite scent in the spring and summer, but I like to keep my scents seasonally exclusive (I know I’m weird) so when I finish the body wash and cream at the end of summer, I don’t repurchase until May or June. Because it smells too summery. I was THRILLED to find this one and also – that is has a pump! How fantastic. There is no scent and it goes on great. Loving it.
Hair Scalp Massager. This is part of the Christmas gift Lacy gave me and it’s amazing. My skin is so dry and my scalp gets dry in the winter too. Using this with shampoo in the shower is like an extra boost. I love it. Not to mention it feels so good.
Lip Exfoliator Brush. OMG!! Where has this been all my life?! It’s no secret I love a good lip exfoliator – over the years I’ve shared many of the Lush pots and Sara Happ ones as well. This.is.a.game.changer. To be able to use this on your lips without having to wipe a sugar scrub on them and wipe it off – it’s incredible. So efficient and effective. I want to order 2 more and keep one in my purse and one in my kitchen. Ha! It’s also… relaxing? Feels so good.
I’d love to hear what you’re loving this month! I’m dying to try the Tatcha lip mask. And the Tatcha serum stick. And the new Drunk Elephant mask!

The Tatcha lip mask is great. I highly recommend over the LaNeige versions.

to me it has always made sense to rotate my shower gel/lotion/perfume seasonally ? smelling like a coconut in january just makes me sad for some reason ? so i totally get it. right now in january i am using a peppermint scented body wash in the AM and if i shower in PM one of the BBW Sleep ones. I have been wanting to try a body oil for winter !
in january i have been loving…drunk elephant lippe balm and eos lip balm. my lips have been a hot mess this winter and these two products have really helped. for some reason the bite beauty i was using before just stopped cutting it. i am intrigued by the lip brush !!!
my hair is also a dry desert recently so i got a hair mask from moroccan oil. still to early to call it a love but it smells great. i need a new hair straightener…any recos ????????
i still have a few products i bought or got around xmas that i have yet to try…does anyone else do that ? buy something then hoard it and not try it forever ?
im trying to shop my stash for a while, other than gift cards cuz those dont count as purchases cuz its not your money ! this is my logic at least. other than that im just trying to stay hydrated until winter ends !
The DE F-Balm is AMAZE.
Agree, I have dry skin but I live in a humid climate so my skin ends up weirdly combination and F Balm is not overly heavy but makes my skin hydrated without being greasy. It’s perfect.
This sounds like a joke, but I swear I’m serious, the Tarte Sugar Rush Bee You palette is so much value for like $30. Like, unbelievably so. I thought it’d be lame because I think Sugar Rush is aimed at high school students?, but a lot of those palettes are so cute and I couldn’t resist. I’m glad I didn’t. ❤️
