Summer Fridays, Vol 7.
Now that is a perfect summer friday pour! What’s on your agenda this weekend?
EATING
My summer house salad. It’s loaded with summer garden vegetables and so good! I’m also in the mood for this pistachio pesto pasta salad. And my lime loaded shrimp fajitas!
DRINKING
This cajun peach lemonade! You can spike it if you wish. Otherwise, I think it will be a rosé weekend.
MAKING
My beer battered fish tacos with mango margarita salsa. These are always a hit.
BAKING
My chewy oatmeal chocolate chip zucchini cookies. Obsessed with them. If you want a no-bake option, these salted pretzel s’mores crunch bars are unreal.
CRAVING
Shake Shack like whoa. I really wish we had one around here! It’s basically the only burger place I adore. The good news is that I did recreate their smoke shack burger – with my cherry pepper bacon cheeseburger. Try it!
LISTENING
To this perfect golden hour playlist. I love it. And who else is freaking over the Taylor Swift album?! With a quick run through listen, I’m already obsessed. The minute we started playing the songs, Max yelled “that’s Taylor Swift!” Her music is Emilia’s favorite too!
READING
Rodham! And I’m loving it. It’s like I knew that I would because American Wife is one of my all-time favorite books. Also! If you haven’t joined our book club yet, you still have time! Next week we’re discussing our July pick, Party of Two.
WEARING
Masks! I mean, hello 2020. I am loving the athleta masks. I only wish they had different colors! You know, like neon pink or tie dye, haha. If I have to wear one outside for an extended period of time, I prefer the paper ones because they are more breathable. But what I really wanted to tell you about are the kids masks. My kids actually love the masks – probably because they can see them on each other and think it’s so funny. Plus, they have characters on them. I don’t really love character clothing but these are def winners. I found these ones back in April and have since ordered more, especially for Max when/if he goes back to school. These are the masks the kids had on in this post. The way they stay around the ears is perfect – and not uncomfortable at all.
LOVING
I just discovered that The Kitchn does this one hour meal prep series – I love it! My next book has a ton of meal prep secrets and I can’t wait for you to see it. Coming to you next spring.
SHARING
Please tell me you’ve seen this Hamilton-inspired tribute to Dr Fauci. I am obsessed.
SHOPPING
The Nordstrom sale! The preview is going to be up today. What are your thoughts on the sale this year? I always find a lot of great basics (kid stuff, blankets, my favorite t shirts, pajamas, etc) but really haven’t been shopping much at all given the current circumstances. I usually do a big Nordstrom picks post over on crumbs – would you still like to see one?

I am reading Rodham too!! That cajun peach lemonade sounds fantastic! Happy Friday!
I am waiting for them to post the preview! I think it is really great that they are doing a preview – I think more people are less likely to impulse buy and it gives them more time to actually think about what they want – which will hopefully result in less returns, etc. I would still love to see a roundup of your picks/buys!
Yes please do a preview of your favorites! Something to keep our minds off of everything else!

I’d like to see a post on your Nordstrom picks!
I’d really like a Nordstrom picks post.
Please do a preview of your picks from the NSale! I have continued to have to work in office throughout this whole pandemic so shopping for new clothes is such a highlight for me!
I’ve made many masks for my family because I sew, quilt, etc. It’s a great way to use leftover fabric and also to customize each mask for each individual face size and comfort level. My husband wears glasses and that has been the hardest issue to address fit wise. I keep trying different things to make it more comfortable. Our hugest concern is seeing that people don’t take the proper care with the masks they wear. The latest thing we’re seeing, is having them hang on your rear view mirror – that’s just telling me that they aren’t getting laundered when possible and the throwaway ones aren’t getting thrown away…ew!
I think I’m just going to switch between the new Tay Swift and The Chicks Gaslighter for the rest of forever.
I am kind of underwhelmed and disappointed by the Nordstrom Sale again this year. Nothing I really want/need is included in the sale.
In other news, favorite read of the summer so far was Beach Read – smart and witty. Hello Summer was pretty good. 28 Summers was ok (I thought it kind of dragged in the middle). I’ve moved onto the Hunger Games Prequel and Medieval History. I am watching the Last Kingdom on Netflix and got sucked into that when I looked things up.
Summer drink: frozen vodka lemonade slushies.
Yes please do your Nordstrom pics. I also haven’t been shopping much but I still want to see your choices you always have great taste
I’d love to see your Nordstrom picks- especially athletic/loungewear and beauty. Also, I need a new purse! lol
I’m certainly glad I don’t need any winter clothes or shoes (like where am I going??) because this is quite possibly the worst selection I’ve ever seen at the Nordstrom sale. I will get a big Kiel’s lotion and possibly a pair of sweatpants🤣

I look forward to your Nordstrom picks!
Yes, please on sharing your Nordstrom picks! Have a great weekend!
Have you checked out goldbelly.com? You can actually order a kit from Shake Shack for $49 for a set of 8 burgers. It comes with the uncooked burger meat (with directions for smashing), the buns, the cheese, and the sauce. You just add lettuce and tomatoes. My husband and I have been wanting to try it but I just had our second baby this week so we were holding off until I was feeling stronger postpartum :-)
OBSESSED WITH THE NEW TAYLOR SWIFT ALBUM.
