Tuesday Things.
1. I actually love wrapping gifts, but this year I am majorly lacking in motivation. Since we don’t have anywhere to go or any events, gatherings, etc that will take time away from home, I am in no rush to wrap. It’s killing me! Gotta get started.
2. Please tell me you’ve watched 2020: The Musical! I’ve watched it about ten times.
3. Considering cutting down my baking list now – but I’m stumped on what to make. What is your number one must have? For me, it’s always peanut butter blossoms.
4. If you don’t feel like yourself, you’re not alone.
5. TV things!! I need something new to binge. Last year at this time is when I started binging The Americans! It was so good. I’m still MEH on A Million Little Things. I need something less intense than Grey’s.
6. I’m sure we’ve talked about this before, but what was the first CD you ever owned? Mine was Jagged Little Pill by Alanis and one of Sheryl Crow’s (got both for my birthday) and I think I was 11… and now I’m thinking WHAT!
7. A guide to managing time when you’re always behind.
8. Have you started thinking about 2021 goals yet? I know that might be laughable at this point but… ha.

mine were Counting Crows August and Everything After and Jagged Little Pill. I can still remember buying them. It’s driving me crazy though bc I cannot remember the name of the chain store where I bought them. You could take the CD up to an area where they would open it and let you sit and listen. And all around the walls of the store you could listen to the top cds.
Tower Records?
National Record Mart?
My sister just said it was “Blockbuster Music”???
Well…just looked it up and it had to be that bc it shows their business model made them unique by letting the workers open and reseal any cd in the store. Never would have remembered it was that!
Oh, Counting Crows! I listened to that album recently and it has really held up.
It really has. Last night my 13 year old and 8 year old were listening to music and they played two from that album. Along with a bunch of Prince. I’ve never been more proud :)
Love those Christmas lights candies/sprinkles!? Where did you get them?
The Unicorn is SO GOOD! I can’t believe there isn’t more hype about it!!
My absolute baking musts are Coconut Bon Bons PB bon bons (basically the same thing as Buckeyes).
I think the first CD I ever owned was a CD by ZOEgirl—a 00s girl group that doesn’t exist anymore.
ACE OF BASS. I mean, I can still see it now in my brother’s enormous stereo system with TWO tape decks and a CD player. I also remember that my first non-kids’ music tape was Debbie Gibson. These are the things that take up space in my brain and keep me from remembering what I walked into my closet for.
We’re having a tough time finding a new show! We zipped through Queen’s Gambit and then The Undoing and now I feel lost.
3) My mom mailed a bunch of cookies for my husband and I and they’re going fast. I may have to make some spritz style cookies (minus the press) as well as have plans to make your peppermint kiss cookies (the recipe that helped me find you back in 2009!)
5) I loved the Undoing. We’ve been really into Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (and similarly Zoey’s Extraordinary Play List) as well as just started Arrested Development
8) I just had this conversation yesterday- to be more present and enjoy the simple things in life
It was either a cassette tape of Huey Lewis and the News or Duran Duran.
Almond Crescents are a must have on my cookie plate.
YELLOWSTONE, such a good show.
How about a yweul log?
Have you watch Virgin River on Netflix. Great series?
Wrapping takes skill ,you should do it for fun this year for people.listen to music too
Queen’s gambit on Netflix
My first CD was August and Everything After by the Counting Crows. Still one of my all-time favorites!!
Also, I went crazy this year with cookies (I usually do) and made at least 30 different kinds. I love gifting them and made some new Italian varieties that I haven’t done before. PB blossoms, Mexican wedding cakes, pecan tassies, Reese’s PB cup cookies and Cuccidati are definite must-makes.
The Undoing was very good. Try Your Honor, there are 2 episodes so far and Bryan Cranston is so good in it. Virgin River is goofy but addicting too.
Mindhunter on Netflix!
“Big Sky”; “Five Bedrooms” and “The Capture” on Peacock; new season of “The Expanse” on Amazon Prime starts December 16 for sci-fi fans.
I just started rewatching Parenthood and it’s so much better than I remember! That cast is perfection!
Just started watching Your Honor on Showtime! Super easy to get hooked, but only 2 episodes so far.
I rarely post comments on your blog but am always amazed about how much stuff you can fit in your life, that’s amazing. I’m also a mother of two and find so little time for things like Netflix or.. a good night sleep! Your posts make me so enthousiast though, thank you for that! I am now adding that “guide to managing time when you’re always behind” to my reading list for tomorrow :D
Have to make peanut butter stuffed Christmas crack and chocolate chip cookies. My husband and I have a tradition of watching national lampoon’s Christmas and eating Christmas crack while we wrap gifts…. so much fun!! Have you watched sweet magnolias on Netflix? It’s a slow start but good overall.
TV things: the Queen’s Gambit surprised me and was good. I knew nothing going in and I think that was better, because I was able to just be present with the story and not ‘know’ where it was going. I stopped watching Grey’s shortly before Alex left and just can’t get back into it now. I miss the old days with Cristina :(
Holiday baking and things: December is crazy for us every year; today is my husband’s birthday, tomorrow is mine, then of course Christmas. Somehow even though I LOVE cookies, I never make Christmas cookies! However, that will change this year since it is the first year in my life that I won’t be spending the holidays with my family, so my husband and I are trying to find some new traditions we can start together and activities to get us into the holiday spirit. If anyone else is in the same boat, here are other thoughts we’ve had: baking Christmas cookies (peanut butter blossoms all the way!), gingerbread decorating competition (can be done from afar and everyone shares pics then votes on a winner?), driving around to look at Christmas lights, everyone watching the same Christmas movie ‘together’ from afar. TOTALLY looking for other recommendations, too.
Gift wrapping: I usually love to get a boozy hot chocolate (peppermint!), put some Christmas music on, and wrap presents. I wasn’t super motivated this year either AND we ran out of Christmas wrapping paper so I had to Frankenstein one gift with two wrapping papers since I’m trying to minimize trips to the store, haha. 2020!
Happy holidays to you and your family!
Although a little dated, Chuck is a great show. You can watch on Amazon Prime. You might be put off by the description (I was) but it’s fun, funny, clever, suspenseful, romantic, and action packed! It has it all.
I actually came on to comment on the pretzel sticks that were amazing!!! Realized I was on wrong post. Lol
