This was a really good week. A really really good week! A busy week but a good week. Can I repeat myself anymore? I desperately want to snapchat my boring worklife all week but I don’t understand how to stop and snap when I’m actually working. I forget because I am an elderly person, apparently.
Are you following along on pinterest, where I post other elderly things along with glitter, neon, pretty homes and whatever is basic at the moment? And instagraMMM. It’s my fave. Remember to tag your recipes with #howsweeteats on insta!
What are you up to this weekend? I think we might finally hang pictures in our home one year after moving in. But maybe not? Maybe we will just continue to live like college students without posters on the wall.
P.S. last night a bug flew down my shirt while in the car late at night and I thought my life was over. I still can’t deal.
Check out all these goods!
I know that I mentioned doing a northern Michigan guide, but with fantastic posts like this I don’t even think I need to. This is everything. They make me want to get back ASAP… and we just left!
Three freaking words: fresh pina colada. Is this real life?
Seriously just give me this cobb salad burger and my weekend will be made.
The world just got so much better: cinnamon toast milk ice cream.
I really want to make these fresh kiwi coconut popsicles just because they are so dang cute.
My brain is overwhelmed with the beauty of this red hot chicken and fried cheese meatballs. WANT.
Could these DIY pattern bowls be any cuter? Could I possibly have any less patience, making the activity impossible to do?
100% loving this watermelon gazpacho with pistachios and basil oil. It’s the prettiest thing.
A super easy plum cake! In case you haven’t eaten all the plums like I have.
All bread looks better when it’s pink. Especially biscuits.
These peanut butter banana trail mix cookies? Done.
We were also going to make regular old peanut butter cookies today but now I think it has to be these chocolate chip cookie dough frosted brownies. Because, um… like I need an explanation for THAT.
Any favorite loves this week? The internet is full of brilliance.

That is too funny about hanging the pictures on your wall! My husband and I moved in to our house 2.5 years ago. It was a new construction and we were panicked to put any holes in the walls as all the walls were pristine (hole-free!) We literally just starting hanging our paintings about 2 weeks ago. They were conveniently stored in a closet before that. Haha. Feels good to FINALLY get them up now though.
Hey we still need your post on N.Michigan!!! Would love to have your take on things!!! Please still do it!!!!
My fav from this week –> https://jennythebaker.com/2015/08/17/funfetti-cheesecake-cake/
I’ve been baking, cooking for many years. I’m 51 but absolutely love my kitchen. I first wanted to share what I thought about your Fluffernutter Chip Ice Cream. Out of this world!!!!!. I’m also a low fat eater, exercise A LOT and I’m a physician assistant or (PA) so I am on my feet a lot. But when I went to this site, I couldn’t believe the unusual items which I LOVE. I ordered the book immediately and you have a devoted fan. Like I said, yesterday I found the recipe for the Fluffernutter Chip Ice Cream, it was by far the BEST Ice Cream EVER. I know the items I eat have fat and I eat about 12 grams a day, but honey I’m a gay man who’s married to the most fit man ever, I got a scoop of the ice cream and he ate the entire remaining quart. I will buy whatever book you write. Thank you for sharing with the world!
I love the idea of the DIY pattern Bowls!
For sure going to try those out.
I love your Northern Michigan post, makes me want to go! I also said “gah” out loud looking at that ridiculous baby butt :) Great vacation photos!
I have to say – I LOVE these posts!! I use to come read them for the recipe tips, but honestly, now it’s for your hilarious commentary and writing style!! Keep being you :)
The Internet IS full of brilliance! Thank you for this my dear! I’d love to share a few Pina Coladas with you (please bring your bourbon peach cake!! OMGeeee)!!!
ummmm, I love love the new “currently crushing on” format.
best of the week? (ok so it came out 2 weeks ago, but I just saw it yesterday) Mindy Kaling’s guide to killer confidence interview with Glamour: http://www.glamour.com/entertainment/2015/08/mindy-kaling-guide-to-killer-confidence. Honest and refreshing, loved it.
I am obsessed with fresh pina colodas!!!
