Chocolate Banana Bites.
I have an issue.
An issue which you already know about.
I need something sweet every single day. Ok, maybe I don’t need it, but like the shoeboxes that have taken over my closet, I want it.
And truth be told – I want something sweet every minute.
I would be perfectly content eating dessert for breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with a nice serving of salt ‘n vinegar chips to give me that salty fix.
But my clothes won’t be content with me spilling out of them.
And Mr. How Sweet won’t be content when I need to buy a new wardrobe since nothing fits.
So in come my little banana bites. They are super versatile.
I first had a chocolate-covered banana at some kind of redneck fair years ago.
I’m talkin’ like . . . more than 15 years ago. I hate that I can say that now. I feel so old.
When a banana is coated in chocolate, there just isn’t enough chocolate for me. I love bananas, don’t get me wrong. But if I am going to eat a chocolate-covered banana, I want equal ratios of banana to chocolate in each bite.
I also have super sensitive teeth. I cannot bite into a whole frozen banana. And when I see people bite into ice cream cones? Ugh – that is like nails on a chalkboard for me. I absolutely cringe.
So, these mini frozen banana bites fit the bill perfectly. They have an excellent ratio of chocolate to banana. And they don’t hurt my teeth.
Check out how incredible the look!
In my opinion, they are also a guilt-free treat.
Unfortunately, I never feel guilt when it comes to food. I say ‘unfortunately’ because this means I can take down an entire pan of brownies without a second thought.
Taking down an entire tray of these does much less damage. Makes me feel good about myself. And makes my jeans love me more.
Adding a peanut butter drizzle makes them taste like an absolute sin. I’d prefer to sin this way- through eating food. It is Lent, afterall.

I appreciate you so much!
I added banana bites to some non-fat, plain green yogurt. It taste delicious, but it was very cold. I am thinking these would be unbelievable in oatmeal. I haven’t got around to that yet because every evening, I eat the entire pan.

You are not alone on needing a sweet everyday ; ) We do too!
What a GREAT idea. These look absolutely delicious!
this is an amazing idea! and so much classier than the typical chocolate frozen bananas.
When do we get the crustache pic?
Wow! Those look great. I love chocolate covered bananas.
simple, perfect, amazing.
and i cannot handle biting into cold items either…teeth pain goes straight to my brain…ouch! perfect solution!
Appearance-wise, these are like the healthy version of Cookie Dough Truffles.
Taste-wise, I bet these are delicious.
What a great idea! I’m right there with you and the biting into something frozen thing. I just can do it…and actually, my teeth start to ache a bit just thinking about it.
I was actually thinking about frozen chocolate covered bananas because I saw them at TJ’s but didn’t get them because they weren’t clean. This is the perfect recipe, can’t wait to try it! :)
Oooo – these look awesome!! :)
No words. Those looks so perfect :-)
*look
:-)
Chocolate banana bites! Oh man those look good! Seems like you are on a banana kick lately with banana pb muffins and banana bites, I love it! Great idea, can’t wait to make it!
wow delicious little treats!
Lol! Me too. Sensitive teeth. Can’t bite into ice cubes, ice cream, or anything extremely cold.
Those bites look SO good! I’m gonna have to make them soon. The chocolate part would be great with a tablespoon or so of coconut oil. It’d make it shinier and add flavor…and an energy boost. ;)
these are fantastic! i am going to make these NOW! they’re so simple and use staple ingredients i always have on hand! perfect!
I loved your peppermint patties, and I am sure I will LOVE these too!! Chocolate covered bananas are AMAZING.
YUM. We share the same problem Jessica, I NEED something sweet every day too. I usually wait until the evening because that’s when I have better control. I rarely have a salt tooth, it’s always a sweet tooth. I don’t think it’s a problem though. As long as we’re active, I say, who cares?!
Yeah I definitely have that problem too…I could do something sweet at every meal too. I LOVE chocolate covered bananas. I might make these this weekend, yum :)
Holy MOLY!
Chocolate Banana Bites?
LOVE ;)
I saw something like this on Food net work today, but theirs are totally lame compared to your version. For realz. You need our own Food Network show.
What a gorgeous post! Love chocs but also need to watch my waist line. You’v got a lovely blog, will definitely return!
Oh my–these are a few of my favorite things!! Yum yum.
And I agree–if we’re gonna sin, why not make it with chocolate, pb, and bananas?
You know, I have the same “problem” with the constant craving for sweets. My mum told me once that’s cause by an imbalance of carbs. After I swallowed my penne pasta and washed it down with chocolate milk, I looked up at her and said, “No waaay!”
Aha! Chocolate + peanut butter + banana, there seems to be a theme going on here! Lovely idea, these!
Hooked at the first sight of these treats. Great blog.
Will definitely be trying these.
I am new to this whole blogging thing, and am inspired by you food bloggers. See my blog this week, where I salute you all (and reference your blog!)!
YUM! How delicious and easssy :) Love it! Makin these babies!
Yum! I am the same way with sweets… I never get sick of them. Unfortunately, my waistline reflects it a bit. I am working on moderation, so maybe this “healthy” treat will be a good idea!

Ooooooo – these look FAB!! And I am in total agreement with you on the sensitive teeth thing – – and the same amount of chocolate and banana. All of it. So this is the perfect recipe to me. I am just going to make it with homemade peanut butter on top! Thanks so much for sharing! =-D

I made these this evening. A treat after my daughter’s soccer tournament. They were DELISH!!! I made them as instructed. The only trouble I had (besides not eating them before they were done) was that after a few bananas, I found it hard to get the chocolate to stick. Is it a temperature thing? I’m not a natural in the kitchen so any tips would be appreciated. This one is DEFINITELY a keeper!
What brand chocolate chip is the best to make this?
