White Pizza Dip.
But anyway. It’s not that big of a deal. Clearly.
So. There were only four people at the party when I arrived. Four, including me. Three being the hosts. None of the four being my husband with the gigantic appetite, because he was traveling for work. I know. Who travels for work on the 4th of July? How unamerican of him. Whatever.
See, the dip was hot. I baked it before going, thinking that other people also show up a few
hours minutes early to a get together. They would appreciate a warm, gooey dip.
Well… they don’t. Should’ve known.
Buuuut it was hot. The dip. And the sun. So we HAD to eat it. And we just didn’t stop eating it. We couldn’t. It was near impossible. We ate it in our bathing suits. All of it.
That was lovely.
White pizza dip is essentially pizza dip without the tomato sauce.
I don’t freaking love tomato sauce, hence my freaking love of the white pizza dip. And white pizza in general. Tons of cheese, roasted tomatoes, fresh basil and garlic. Get it?
White Pizza Dip
serves about 6-8
1 pint grape tomatoes, tomatoes cut in half
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 (12 ounces) blocks cream cheese, softened
8 ounces mozzarella cheese, freshly grated
8 ounces provolone cheese, freshly grated
1/4 cup finely grated parmesan cheese + more for garnish
4 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
1/4 cup freshly chopped basil leaves
2 tablespoons freshly chopped thyme leaves
1/2 tablespoon freshly chopped oregano leaves
crackers, bread or chips for serving
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil then place tomatoes on top. Sprinkle with olive oil and salt, then roast for 20-25 minutes, until bursting. Set aside.
While tomatoes are roasting, mix softened cream cheese with about 7 ounces each of provolone and mozzarella, then and parmesan. Stir in fresh herbs, garlic and roasted tomatoes, mixing well to combine. Transfer mixture to an oven-safe baking dish (mine was 6 x 4 round). Sprinkle with remaining provolone and mozzarella. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until top is golden and bubbly. Serve immediately with crackers, chip or toasted bread.

holy gazebos! this looks so amazing! i have to make this ASAP. jess, you just made my day.
OMG- this dip is insane! I’ve said it before (and I will say it again)…you are a culinary genius, Jessica!
I love you.
Seriously, when can I move in? I’d never have to cook again and I’d die happy in a few months from gorging myself on all this phenomenal food!! What a way to go. :D
haha, love this dip AND the story! I was definitely the one waiting for my mom peering out the window way too many times- and am ALWAYS early now too!
FINALLY, Someone else who “Doesn’t” Like Tomato Sauce. . . And Here I’m Thinking I’m the Only One Who’s Weird and Crazy for Not Liking it, Because That’s What I’m Told – By Everyone!
I find when I want to “justify” my dislike of certain foods, I ask kids under the age of 10.
Works EVERY time!
(except when I point out I HATE ketchup!)
Jeez Louise! This is my cheesy dream come true!!!
Hahaha my family is always too punctual – I’ve got many memories of little me sitting in a cabin at camp waiting HOURS for another kid to show up. This dip looks ridiculously good, but does any recipe ever not on this blog?
Holy cow! That looks amazing!! You just can’t go wrong with tons of cheese!
Another of your recipes on favorites–you are my clear frontrunner. I also like that it’s low in tomato because too much triggers my heartburn–strangely, large amounts of gooey cheese does not! :) Perfect!
I too have a punctuality issue…I am always early, everywhere I go (my dad once forgot me at school, I hid in the bathroom until the teachers left so I wouldn’t have to explain that my dad forgot about me – I was a senior in high school – it was awesome!) Plus, I don’t like being fashionably late, because I never know when that is acceptable, and I really am not that cool to pull off being ‘late’. Oh and hey the dip looks utterly amazing!
I’m not cool enough either. I just end up looking like an ass who comes in late.
Sometimes I think you’re trying to kill me with these delicious, over-the-top recipes! And I’m totally okay with it.
ps You should totally have a HUGE 30th bash!
Looks so good! And I have all those herbs in my herb garden! I should make this to use my herbs before I end up accidentally killing them
That was my mom too. 45 minutes, sometimes an hour. It was most embarrassing when it was the last class of the night and my dance teacher locked up and sat outside with me until my mom got there.
So had that happen too.
first things first.
i read the first line, and now i’m singing the theme song to Fresh Prince
this is a story all about how my life got flipped turned upside down..
Second things second.
this looks amazing.
Third things third.
my birthday is friday. will you come over and bake me something?
:) thanks Jessica.
i’ll stop now. Happy Wednesday
Happy Wednesday to you. :)
I really think I’m becoming you… I seem to have almost all the ingredients to make your recipes recently… while I thank you, my pants don’t. :)
I love dips, especially cheesy ones…YUM!
Forget eating it early at the party, I would eat that on the way to the party. Party of one!
I’m pretty sure you like to torture me! Holy moly this makes me weak behind the knees!
I don’t have anything against tomato sauce, in fact, I actually really like it. However, I’d happily do without if I could have this dip right this second!!
Oh my! This looks amazing!!!! As I Wisconsin girl I have no problem downing copious amounts of cheese.
I’m diving head first into that!
This is insane! Actually it’s borderline illegal considering that it’s beach period… But I love it!
coming from a tomato sauce lover, i have to say that the looks of this dip easily trumps any pizza dip i’ve ever had. ;)
What’s not to love? The absolute best part of the pizza in one hot, gooey, beautiful place. I died.
Oops! Ha! I am SUPER punctual too. Much to Keith’s irritation. It is my Dad’s fault. He raised me to believe that on time is really 10-15 minutes early. So I would have definitely arrived early enough to eat my 5th of that cheese dip!
SAME here! My dad is so early all the time!
Oh my gosh. WHAT! I need this!! I think I could single handedly take down 28 oz. of cheese if this were the form it took.
I could LIVE off pizza… if only it didn’t aggrevate my acid reflux. Your original pizza dip is divine, so I can only imagine what this one is like.
Oh my word, this looks dangerous!
I want to go swimming in this dip!
“…waiting for her to pick me up 45 minutes after class ended.” I think mom’s do this on purpose, and for the reason that you stated. Mine wasn’t this late (usually), but the chronic late pick-ups have definitely made me a more punctual person :p This dip looks delicious – can’t wait to try it!
My mouth is watering. And that’s all I need to get this on my to-make lister! Pinned :)
OMG I totally know what you’re talking about being scarred for life punctuality wise. I was once driven home from a field trip by my school principal because my mom was an hour late and her phone was dead. This looks incredible, white pizza is the best :)
I’m with Maria on this one! I would like to take a dip in that dip!
I cannot wait to try this!!! love your site!
i just want to smear this all over everything i eat today. is that weird?
Looks insane! So did just the 4 of you eat it before the guests arrived? :-)
Ummmm yes. oops.
Well, I did plan on detoxing as soon as I was home for vacation but now I just want to live on this dip… agh!
wowzas… this looks dangerous and delicious! i don’t think i’d be able to pull myself away from it!
I love white pizza too! The more cheese, the better. I don’t blame you guys for polishing this off before the other guests arrived. If it were me, only have would’ve made it to the party…because I would’ve eaten half at home already hehehe
Oh, my! All that gooey cheese! My mouth is watering for your pizza dip at 7 in the morning.
OMG! I woould love this!
I have super high anxiety when it comes to being late too! When I was growning up my mom had the tendency to run late so I would tweek out about it, and still do!
I love dip.
dippy dippy dip.
here it does down.
down into my belly.
hahahaha!!! love that line :)
I love you.
Oh man, that looks yummy. The perfect party dip for sure. If we had that a party, I would probably be guarding it and keeping it all to myself. (I’ve done that with really good salsa before too!)
so yeah…i’m thinking that i alone could eat 28 ounces of cheese if it’s in this dip form. HOLY
wow, this should win an award for best party dip. evar. this dip will have a million appearances this fall when football season starts up. yeeeupp!
That.looks.like.HEAVEN. Literally! You’ll have to make it again for your hubby so he can enjoy it-and maybe eat the whole thing?
This is probably going to happen.
‘Love the reference to The Court Jester! Haven’t seen that movie in forever! Will have to try to dig it up somewhere! (Just showing my age here…)
Okay… not sure what The Court Jester is! Please enlighten me. :)
The Court Jester…..corny but awesomely entertaining Danny Kaye movie! An odd take on Robin Hood! “Get it?” “Got it!” Good!” Just a silly line of banter in the movie….. Made me laugh to just remember it!
This is freaking glorious. That’s all.
I’m a happily married woman; but after reading this, I may love you. And my husband will def love you.
