White Pizza Dip.
But anyway. It’s not that big of a deal. Clearly.
So. There were only four people at the party when I arrived. Four, including me. Three being the hosts. None of the four being my husband with the gigantic appetite, because he was traveling for work. I know. Who travels for work on the 4th of July? How unamerican of him. Whatever.
See, the dip was hot. I baked it before going, thinking that other people also show up a few hours minutes early to a get together. They would appreciate a warm, gooey dip.
Well… they don’t. Should’ve known.
Buuuut it was hot. The dip. And the sun. So we HAD to eat it. And we just didn’t stop eating it. We couldn’t. It was near impossible. We ate it in our bathing suits. All of it.
That was lovely.
White pizza dip is essentially pizza dip without the tomato sauce.
I.freaking.love.it.
I don’t freaking love tomato sauce, hence my freaking love of the white pizza dip. And white pizza in general. Tons of cheese, roasted tomatoes, fresh basil and garlic. Get it?
Got it.
Good.
White Pizza Dip
serves about 6-8
1 pint grape tomatoes, tomatoes cut in half
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 (12 ounces) blocks cream cheese, softened
8 ounces mozzarella cheese, freshly grated
8 ounces provolone cheese, freshly grated
1/4 cup finely grated parmesan cheese + more for garnish
4 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
1/4 cup freshly chopped basil leaves
2 tablespoons freshly chopped thyme leaves
1/2 tablespoon freshly chopped oregano leaves
crackers, bread or chips for serving
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil then place tomatoes on top. Sprinkle with olive oil and salt, then roast for 20-25 minutes, until bursting. Set aside.
While tomatoes are roasting, mix softened cream cheese with about 7 ounces each of provolone and mozzarella, then and parmesan. Stir in fresh herbs, garlic and roasted tomatoes, mixing well to combine. Transfer mixture to an oven-safe baking dish (mine was 6 x 4 round). Sprinkle with remaining provolone and mozzarella. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until top is golden and bubbly. Serve immediately with crackers, chip or toasted bread.
The end.

Pingback: The Weekend Dish: 7/21/2012
When I saw this I was hoping that the recipe would be posted. I’m will be making this, this weekend. I don’t need a reason, other than I like to eat. :) Thanks!
Hello,
I wanted to share that I just made this recipe and OMG, we could not stop eating. Thank you so much for sharing, it was amazing!
Oh yum!! A friend pinned it. I am sharing on our FB page. We will also be trying this. Thanks for sharing!
This looks unreal and if it was only not late at night, I would be in my car on my way to the store to buy all of these ingredients. Good thing I can wake early and go do that tomorrow. It will be breakfast!

Ha! Also scarred for life by a perpetually late parent, and I am now forever destined to be early!
This looks phenomenal. With all that cheese, how can it be bad? Yum.
This looks so amazing! I can’t wait to make this!
Ive got a pool, and bathing suit, and wine, can we have a party? Cuz I need this in my life in the worst kind of way. I can tell everyone else to show up like 4 hours later or something so we don’t have to tell them what they missed out on.
Made this over the weekend for a birthday party. It was gobbled up and I barely got to grab a bite! I think next time I make it, I might try using chive and onion cream cheese to kick up the flavor a notch. Thanks for a great recipe!
I make a White Garlic Pizza using roasted garlic, tomatoes and bacon. I think I will add bacon to this one too. Can’t wait to try this!!!
everything’s better with bacon :)
Wow, that sounds delicious. You wouldn’t happen to have a recipe that you could pass along? Please :)
scroll up ^ ^
Holy wow! I just had 2 servings of dinner & am now hungry again after looking at this post! I HATE red sauce so the fact that this doesn’t have any makes it *that* much better! You’re freakin’ awesome for this. And yes, I think adding bacon & using a flavored cream cheese would definitely up the flavor profiles, though I’m sure it’s bomb the way it’s written! :D
This looks awesome. I love anything to do with dips……I will definitly be making this!
Oh yes…this was amazing! What a great combination of deliciousness! Since I had limited time I didn’t roast my own tomatoes. I purchased a 15 ounce can of fire roasted tomatoes and drained them. Didn’t even have to chop them, just dropped them right in. I also used 16 ounces of cream cheese instead of the 12. Why not just add the extra instead of letting it get moldy in my fridge?? Anyway, this recipe is a keeper! We watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics and had great food all at the same time. Go USA!
After reading all of the comments, I decided to give it a try! Can I just say I am glad I did!? This dip didn’t stand a chance at my daughter’s 1st birthday party. It was a huge conversation piece. Thank you for sharing!
This looks soooo freaking good. I love white pizza and this dip is dangerous, in a good way!!
Wow I made this tonight to have while watching the Olympics. It is soooo good. I used a 5 cheese Italian blend for the cheese. I browned about a half pound of hot Italian sausage and added that well drained. Lots of fresh herbs and added rosemary. It was sooo good. Next time I might put in just a little bit more tomatoes and a little chopped black olives. Served it with tortilla chips.
my daughter stephanie made this for a jewelry party she had for all her teacher friends as she moves to a teaching position in a new school…….this dip was so delicious we were scraping the dish for the last golden brown niblet !!! Every single on of the women there wanted (and got ) this recipe………i was there to take care of my two little grandsons during the festivities……i spent most of my time eating this dip !!!!!!!
I just made this last night. IT WAS FANTASTIC!! I hate tomatoes, but roasting them was brilliant. So sweet. Oh, I also used jack cheese instead of provolone. I think you can taylor this for any taste buds. Thanks for another gem!!
This look so yummy! I can’t eat tomatoes but I think I will try to make this with roasted red peppers instead.
Has anyone done this in a crockpot? Or, if I make it and move some to a crockpot for serving would that be okay? I don’t see why not, but thought I’d check :)
Looks so creamy good! I will make this for football season…. YUM,
why isn’t my refrigerator like the internet?? full of yummy and mouth watering stuff :/
I have never heard of white pizza never mind a white pizza dip but this looks so amazing I am definately going to have a go at making it!
OMG! I’m salavating looking at the picture! I want to make this now!…but I’m at work :( I will have to wait. Hopefully it is as good as you say and it looks! I have no doubts something with this much cheese has to be amazing!
I have a daughter who only will eat white pizza (and prety much, “white everything”). I got excited when I saw this recipe. But – how is it a “White Pizza Dip” when it contains tomatoes? The whole idea behind a white pizza is that it contains NOTHING RED, you kow, like tomatoes… I’m going to try it without the, um, tomatoes. Wish me luck.
Sorry to disagree with you Peggy but White Pizza does not mean “NOTHING RED”. White Pizza means that the sauce is a white sauce instead of the traditional red sauce. You can add whatever ingredients on the pizza that you would like to add and it is still a White Pizza because there is no RED sauce.
I agree Donna – every white pizza I’ve ever had has no red sauce, but garlic, tomatoes and cheese.
Try using yellow tomatoes if u don’t like red… Same effect as red just a different color :-)
This dip looks so delicious. I can’t wait to try it. What kind of crackers are those? They look toasted and yummy.
I found this through CurateHub and omg I want to make it. Like, yesterday. Definitely just pinned this for the next party.
This looks wonderful~I Love white pizza with chicken on it. Maybe add a little chopped up chicken with this. We will be having it this weekend for sure!!
I can’t wait to make this too! I don’t have a swimming pool, or a swimsuit (I’m old, well older), or have parties anymore, BUT I do have nine grandkids (all in the same family), and they all seem to love to eat, especially pizza-related food.
Wow, this is my very first time on Pinterest and I certainly landed on a winner. This looks awesome! And the whole story really brings it “home” … love it!!
What kind of crackers are shown they look as good as the dip. I’m gonna try this for sure thanks for sharing.
WHAT an outstanding dip! So different and I’m going to try all the different versions mentioned in the reviews! Good grief you ladies are creative! Can’t wait to begin my project!
I too was left for up to an hour outside of every institution I attended. I was also stuffed into a car and force fed biscuits from whataburger and Dr. Pepper every morning “on the road” to school. Which i was always late to until i could drive myself. The combination of a mother who did not cook and couldn’t be on time because she rarely knew what time it was ( she was wonderful with everything else) makes me both sympathetic to your feelings and an avid searcher of more brilliant recipes. I especially love the ones that make everyone at the party adore me and this look like one of them! Thanks!
I am wondering if it would be possible to make this sauce and then freeze it for a later time????
your good cheese and tomatoes u can freeze .
Don’t feel bad. I was left waiting for my Dad to pick me up on the church steps many times after choir practice, girl scouts, and GA meetings. Some times well into dark. It was embarassing, especially when the Minister would come by ask me it anyone was coming to get me – or should he give me a ride home… Oh, well!
This looks delicious. *saving to bookmarks* Thanks for posting this!
Oh wow. That looks fantastic. And I have so many little tomatoes in my garden right now. Thanks for sharing.
Hilarous and informative! I was chuckling out loud the entire time I read this and this recipe is a must try. Looks delicious!
This recipe looks delicious and is gluten free too. I am planning to try it next time I host book club at my house. Thanks for sharing.
no one asked about those delicious looking crackers ! :) can you please tell us the brandname and kind that they are? thanks!
Trader Joe’s pita bites!
I made the dip with dried herbs instead of fresh for my housewarming party. (I used a conversion chart for the herbs, obviously — can’t sub dried straight for fresh.) It was a definite hit with everyone. Thanks for the recipe!
Gwen, Do you have the link where you found the conversion chart? Just curious….
Hey Stephanie, general rule of thumb is to use 4 parts fresh to one part dried. For example, 1/4 cup fresh basil equates to 4 tbsp, so that would be 1 tbsp dried basil.
Made this recipe for a neighborhood gathering. I used Sundried tomatoes and it was delicious.
You are freaking hysterical!! Looks yum! Can’t wait to try!

I made this for the first time for a Labor Day gathering yesterday and it was literally the hit of the party. If anyone is even thinking about making this dip – do it!!! It is sincerely amazing. It’s incredible as is or I could see adding artichoke hearts or sausage to it as others have suggested. This is now a staple in my household!!!
I’m not sure my boyfriend will agree to eat anything else ever again in his life.
