Tuesday Things.
1. Um… moonshine sweet tea cupcakes? These are incredible. Come soon, summer.
2. One would think that 70 million people being involved in a security breach would keep me out of Target, but uh… no. Why does this not scare me? Why must I be an idiot millennial? And most importantly, why is their Valentine’s Day line so damn perfect?
3. I’ve kinda been holding out on you because my BFF (facebaby’s mom!) had twins this past summer and one looks like this. Like a minature face baby. I don’t even know how to describe her because she’s just so funny. The hair. The faces. The personality. I’m dead.
4. One of my goals this year is to remove clutter as it appears and to try and keep on top of messy rooms that stress us both out. I am failing so miserably. I am, however, killing it in the making-dinner-every-night category. Like, kill-ing-it.
5. Cannot even express my love for my pinterest inspiration board. It’s one of the only pinterest things that doesn’t stress me out. It’s like my electronic vision board.
6. So. I’ve talked for years about how my husband sleeps like a crazy person and tosses and turns while I fall asleep and wake up in the exact same position. Sometimes when he is doing something really crazy and it wakes me up, I take a pic and send it to him because he doesn’t believe me. I don’t know if he finds it as funny as I do. Cameras in phones are a scary thing.
7. Speaking of sleeping, I saw an informercial for something called a chillow? Like an always chilled pillow? Pretty sure I need that in my life. Is there anything better than the feeling of a cool pillow?
8. Annnnnd here we go: GIRLS. I have to be getting really old, because I could not believe the absolute raunch within the first five minutes. I mean, I totally could, but I still wanted to cover my ears. STOP MAKING ME SO UNCOMFORTABLE! I thought Shoshanna stole the show. She’s so out of control. And oh my gosh – PUHlease read this: if the cast of Girls was made into American Girl dolls. As someone who lived and died for those dolls though (pretty sure I still own every book), I could not even handle it. That first picture.
9. Did you guys watch True Detective? We’ve been waiting for it for months and DVRed it but didn’t get around to the whole thing yet. Mostly because I force my husband to do nothing but watch SOA with me. Obsession does not even begin to describe. Although during each episode I’m like… do these guys ever actually WORK?
10. 35 foods from your childhood that are extinct now. My brothers and I used to beg my mom for SO many of these. Like, what was it about crystal pepsi that was so appealing? Blech.
11. Can we talk about how excited I am for the olympics? I didn’t even realize they were so soon until a few weeks ago and I can’t wait. You may remember me freaking over the summer olympics in 2012 and talking about them nonstop. I’m sure in a month I’ll write about my dream of becoming a professional figure skater. And then when Nashville comes back on, I’ll tell you I want to be a country music star. Maybe I can be a country music star that skates while she sings. Because that’s real.

I loved Ecto-Cooler & Clearly Canadian. I’ll have to dig it up, but I definitely have several recipes stashed away to recreate Ecto-Cooler. I even had one to make an alcoholic version, just like Slimer intended.
This is the recipe I have: http://www.nerdist.com/2011/09/relive-the-80s-by-making-your-own-ecto-cooler/
The alcoholic version was simply to add however much vodka/gin you want. Basically riot punch.
this is awesome.
Yeah, so, I just Bogarted about 1700 pins from your inspiration board. Apparently your inspiration is highly contagious. :) Happy Tuesday.
OK, so the raunchiness of Girls (yes, I’m referring to the 5-minute schpeal in the coffee house) definitely caught me off guard! I mean, I’m no prude, but I could NOT BELIEVE that! I was half horrified, half hysterical. Also, I love the part where Hannah is sitting in the woods while Adam and Shosh go hiking – and she’s leaning over to the side with her underwear showing. SO FUNNY. She is ridiculous. I have to say, though, i’m glad it’s not so dark and dreary this season (so far). Also, LOVE the American Girl comparison. Hilarious.
Kudos on dinner every night!! Does it count if I had an idea of what I wanted to cook and even thawed the meat out?
Btw, *SPOILERS* on Girls!!! hahaha I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet. :-/
I was all about some Clearly Canadian & Planters Cheez Balls!!
If Clearly Canadian was one of the things you begged your mom for, you’ll be excited to hear that they’re bringing it back! You can preorder online: https://www.clearlycanadian.com/
Number 10 really made me miss Cheeze Balls!
I think Nashville makes us all want to become country music stars!
Meeker’s roommate had a chillow in college and we made fun of him relentlessly…but pretty sure we were just jealous.
Where did you get your planner??? Also, there’s a word in German for the secondhand embarrassment I always feel when I watch Girls: fremdschämen
Yes, I second this. Where oh where can I find this planner. It looks divine……?
it’s a whitney english planner: http://www.etsy.com/shop/whitneyenglish
i believe all she has left for this year are ones that may have minor flaws.
I have also been d.y.i.n.g. for the premiere of True Detective – I thought the pacing was a bit slow but I can already tell it’s a really well made show that I’m going to love. GIRLS = no words.
Jason and I have the chillows. They ARE awesome (I love a cool pillow). For YOU, this will be awesome. Jason sleeps like you do – same position without moving. I am the acrobat in my sleep, and my chillow gets all bound up because I do weird foldy-things with my pillows. as I sleep. but it’s awesome still. for the chill people who don’t move much.
omg, those american girl girls dolls are amazing :)
thanks so much for the link love!
I don’t know how far along you are in SOA but my friends and I call it Biker Feelings because OMG the hugging and crying! I’m seriously doubting the Hell’s Angels cried that much at their meetings.
HAHAHAH!!! this is so true.
I love your posts, and that you think some of the things I wonder to myself. Like how the heck do they run that mechanic shop without everrrr working. Like does anybody show up trying to get their car worked on?…and yeah, that says a lot about my lack of real life! I also wonder every Tuesday what is that thing in the left corner of your Tuesday Things picture? Because I’m knee deep over here in playtex baby bottles, that’s all I see when I look at it, but I’m pretty certain that’s not the case. So being the most curious person alive, what is it?!
wait – you mean what’s in the top left of that picture up there? if that’s what you’re asking, it’s kiehls body cream!
Oooh I saw those Tarte lipsticks at Sephora the other day and was totally tempted to buy one just for the packaging (because I’m a marketer’s dream haha) – they are so so cute! Hopefully you’ll be reviewing it in your next beauty post!
i LOVE the tarte lipsticks, i think they are a great consistency! i’ve had this one for at least a year and i wore it a lot in the summer, but i guess i never included it in my favorites! either way, i love them. just wish they had more of a color selection.
Re; SOA- They never work and they NEVER eat. My husband was always like “Just once I’d like to see them eat something!”.
omg. you’re so right. !!!!
I LOVE the Olympics! I used to dream nonstop about being a figure skater. That, of course, didn’t make me actually learn how to figure skate and I still fall down almost the instant I hit the ice.
AND!! I still search for the Crispy m&ms every time I am in the store! It’s crazy! But I used to love them so much. The mini’s package tricks me EVERY time bc its blue!
agreed! i actually don’t even think i realized they had been discontinued until i read that post above.
A few monthe ago I’ve been in Austria ande they do have crispy m&ms. Sre they discontinued only for US?
I STILL miss crispy m&m’s
I’m totally with you when it comes to Shoshanna. My husband and I were done watching and were discussing it and he kept saying how annoyed he was by her. But once I explained that it is because she is being so freakin’ destructive to herself and obviously has developed a weird relationship with food and taking care of herself, he was blown away.
I got this pillow at sams club awhile back and I LOVE IT. I love being cool when I got to sleep.. so this really helps out in that dept. I like that its the actual pillow, cause if it just laid on top.. id be at the foot of the bed by the time I woke up..

I.CAN.NOT.WAIT for Nashville wed. I just watched all the episodes in the last 2 weeks and the suspense is killlllling me.
I don’t think my comments are showing up :(
I have this pillow from sams club.. LOVE IT. http://www.samsclub.com/sams/ergo-gel-pillow/prod10850079.ip
NASHVILLE ON WEDNESDAY. I cannot wait.. I watched all the episodes the last 2 weeks and the suspense from finishing last night and having to wait and see what happens wed is killing me.
nvm .. feel free to delete this one.
I love your inspiration board on Pinterest! Do you pin things and reload the page to gaze and be proud of all of your beautiful pins? Or am I the only one? Haha :)
I am excited for the Olympics too, I’m a big nerd about it!
Every time I see your planner, I know that mine has a ship date of late Jan or early Feb. Can’t wait to get it! A little bit of a late start, but so excited :)
The Olympics. I remember how into them you are and feels like there were just here…wow, time flies!
And Cheese Balls are extinct?! NO! Not that I have had any in 20 years but now I want one! My sister and I used to throw them in each other’s mouth and try to play catch that way :)
We watched True Detective last night. I liked it. It’s pretty intense and like dives right in with with the seriousness. Not sure if its a new favorite yet or not. We shall see!
I cannot even contain myself when the Olympics are on…like, it consumes every second of my life!
Who needs the cupcakes, I’ll just take the moonshine, please&thankyou.
There’s MORE facebaby?! This is exactly what the world needs. Praise.
Oh, and as for your country-music-figure-skating dreams, I’m really just hoping that someone from the US team will do a routine to Trace Adkin’s “Honkeytonkbadonkadonk.” Because…’Merica.
I’m curious — what is the pink/purple/red/white patterned thing on top of the left page of your planner? Whatever it is, it’s pretty! :)
a notebook! :)
You guys need to get here to Australia – we miss out on a lot of the awesome food in America which I hate.. including sprinkles you guys seem to have an awesome range of sprinkles all you can get in Australia is 1000s and thousands and they are a little boring… but we DO have CRISY m’n’ms and lots of them! Ill send you all a care package of them if you like!
Hi, can you tell me what kind of watch that is in the picture there? I really need (want) a watch.
Thanks!!!
it’s a nixon watch: http://www.nixon.com/us/en/womens/watches/the-spur-A263.html?sku=A263897-00
It sounds like you and your husband have similar sleeping habits to us — and coincidentally, my husband has been using a Chillow since high school! One thing I will say though…you have to “burp” it every few months to get the air bubbles out and keep it cold. You never knew water could smell so bad until it sits inside a pillow… :) But fortunately that’s only temporary, and the “chill” part really does work, at least in our experience! There are pillows out there with “cool” technology built in, too, but they are never quite cold enough. He’s picky…hence the tossing and turning, haha.
Bubble chug was one of the weirdest food inventions of all time–but I’m pretty sure I forced my mom to buy me one at least a couple times. Thank GOD purple ketchup disappeared quickly too!
I’m reserving time to work on my planner this weekend! But you are SO right–it’s hard :(
I HAD A CHILLOW. it was awesome.
I also had dreams of figure skating…When I was 7 I used to pretend I was a Russian figure skater. I would put on my slippiest socks, get La Bamba on the radio, hide behind the kitchen curtain, get my uncle to introduce me as… something resembling “Irina Karina Kurkovakichi” and bust out some sweet floor skating moves for the masses (my uncle and nana)
I still love me some floor skating.
AHH that little Ro! We need to come up with some kind of fusion between FaceBaby and bat girl for her. Upside-down facebaby? Bat-face baby? I’ll keep working on it…
OH. And Olympics. Yes!
Oh and oh … what’s this that Trix are all just shaped like Kix now? Stinks to be a kid these days … our fake fruit was REAL.
Give Me That Shosh Doll!!
My mom (thankfully) obsessively kept every box that every single bit of American Girl paraphernalia arrived in and now has it perfectly stored in my closet at their house. I know the Girls dolls aren’t actually real, but its kinda sad that this generation of kids will never know about Felicity and the start of the Revolutionary War, or about Molly and her Victory Garden. Instead they will be embracing Jessa and her feathery earrings. hahaha sad but true.
Still want the Shosh doll though!
I drank so much Clearly Canadian it is amazing I didn’t develop an accent ;)
I love your calendar! What is it/where is it from?
Nevermind! I should have just read the comments from before first!
Oh gosh I love everything about this list! And I cannot wait for Nashville to return :)

Oh my gosh, the extinct foods! Hilarious. I worked at Heinz for awhile, and you would not believe the discussions about the colored ketchup. People always said it was a flop, but it was brought up in at least 95% of the focus groups I was a part of. “You guys still make that purple ketchup??” Also – related – do you remember Tato Skins? They were chips that were light on one side and dark on the other like real potatoes?? Recently, I was trying to remind my mom what those were, and she doesn’t remember them! Man, I loved those things…
#4= MY LIFE! Definitely my 2014 so far.
Girl was just as cringe inducing as I feared! So much awkwardness but I can’t look away! Those dolls are hysterical!
I liked True Detective! The first episode was a little slow but not too bad. I’m eager for next week.
I also have been on a SOA marathon. I’m a tv addict and since several of my shows have ended I finally had time to start this series. My husband and I are always laughing at how much risk they expose themselves to in order to maintain their…uh, modestly middle class lifestyle. Seriously a legit auto mechanic and a neo-natal surgeon could surely live way better than that without getting shot at daily! haha
I’m having physical withdrawl symptoms waiting for The Walking Dead to come back on. Feb 9th. Seems so far away.
I even “deaded” myself on the app. Major addiction, yessiree.
How much are you loving the Whitney English? I bought one of the “minorly flawed” versions and it’s still so perfect. HOWEVER, try pulling it out mid-meeting at a typical business office. ALL THE STARES.
I’m obsessed with the Olympics, too. Like I wish I didn’t have to go to work so I could watch everything ever.
This going to sound so weird, but I totally dig it, so I have a pillow (I assume it is similar to a chillow) that is filled with water, kind of like a waterbed for your head, and one of my favorite things as I am falling asleep is to stick my arms under it because its cool from the water!! I would recommend it!
And THE OLYMPICS I am so totally incredibly pumped! They take my whole focus for the two weeks they are on! Oh my goodness, I cannot wait!
#6- YES! My husband is not a regular snorer, but when he does it can rattle the house. When I would complain that he was snoring so loud I couldn’t go back to sleep for hours, he would always say “I don’t believe you. Next time, record it.” Well, one night I did. And I played it back for him the next day. It. Was. Hysterical. And any time he would give me crap, I would just play the soundbite. I kept that recording on my phone until the day it died.
Love everything in this pic! Can you share? What brand is that watch? Oof, Gorgeous!
Girls is way over the top but I cannot stop myself. I went to an all women’s college. I thought at the time it was just my school but now I know there are people like that in the real world too.
